Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom Comfortable Cottage With An Additional Sleeping Loft And Private Dock.

Located in the center of the highly desired Halfmoon chain of lakes in the Pinckney Recreation Area, Angler's Cove is the perfect choice for those looking for a private piece of lakefront to swim, ski, fish and enjoy the thousands of acres of State forest land this area has to offer. The cottage sits on Round Lake, which is a small, quiet, no-wake lake connected to seven all sports lakes by navigable channels. Connected lakes include Halfmoon Lake with a public swimming beach and boat launch, Bruin Lake which hosts a state park camp ground, Patterson Lake and Hi-land Lake located in Hell, Mi. Why rent a cottage on a lake where you drive in circles all day? Instead come explore the Halfmoon Chain of lakes and boat for hours and never pass the same shoreline. The deep lakes offer wonderful swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. Over half the shoreline of this chain is owned by the State of Michigan, making these lakes much less developed than other lakes in Southern Michigan. The natural beauty and scenery rivals that of Northern Michigan (without the drive).

The Pinckney State Recreation Area encompasses thousands of acres of pristine forest land and many hiking/biking trails open to the public. Trails include the Potawatomi and the Waterloo–Pinckney trail. These trails pass through oak and pine forests and glacial features such as eskers and kettle lakes and through swamps and open meadows remaining from fallow farms. The trails offer some of the best hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking and hunting in the state of Michigan.

Enjoy a swim in the clean water, sunbathe in the yard or take a ride in the paddle boat or kayaks (provided). The dock has plenty of space to park your boat and there is hundreds of acres of water to explore. Pontoon boat rental available.

In the evening, warm to a campfire as you gaze at the stars, visit a local pub or explore the city of Ann Arbor just 30 miles to the southeast. The towns of Chelsea, Dexter and Pinckney are all within 15 minutes.

Cottage includes flat screen cable tv, wireless internet, full size, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and ice maker. Both bedrooms have a quality queen size bed and the kids will love their private sleeping/quiet space in the loft (you'll love it too). Linens provided.

Starting Memorial Day Weekend and before Labor Day Weekend requires a minimum 7 night stay. Check in Friday at 3:00 pm, check out Friday at 11:00 am.

The Round Lake cottage community hasn't changed much in decades. You will enjoy the nostalgic feel of this vacation community in the heart of the chain of lakes. Because of it's central location on the chain, it does require a 1.2 mile drive off the paved road. The road can be narrow at times as it passes through cottages built early in the last century. You can check out Patterson Drive on the map. Total drive time from the paved road is about 5 minutes.

Making memories!!

  • 5 of 5

Ron and I had a wonderful week at the cottage. Our children live in Ann Arbor and we live in Florida so we wanted a place that was close to them to come. The cottage had everything we needed. I had lived in Pinckney before so the area was familiar to me. The neighbor's were really nice also. Renting the boat was an added bonus for our family and to see all the chain of lakes. Kayaking to watch the sunset was amazing. We hope to be back next year!

Peaceful, lovely getaway.

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I really loved this cottage. It was a great stay and had everything one needs to enjoy a week at the lake. The owners are thoughtful and non-intrusive. The setting is quiet, peaceful for the most part (lakes are active!), and the birds are delightful. It was fun to fish off the end of the dock, and the neighbors are really friendly. Would stay again, no question.

Clean and Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here on a much-needed Fall getaway vacation. The property is very well-maintained and clean. The proximity to the lake, and the availability of a row boat, standard water/beach type of equipment, outdoor furniture, firepit, etc. made it easy to really enjoy the outdoors. All of the basics are provided, and everything is in good working order. If you're expecting "nice" then this is your place. If you're expecting "luxury" then I doubt you'll find that at this lake. The cottages and homes are modest and charming, but not "upscale." We were perfectly happy with simple furnishings and standard beds. The bedrooms have hooks and shelf space, but not dressers, so be prepared to use your suitcase for storage, or hang your things on hooks. We especially liked the ease of the keypad entry to the house, so that we didn't have to fish around for keys. We rented the owners' pontoon boat for a day on the chain of lakes and had a magical time. If we came back to Round Lake on another vacation, we wouldn't hesitate to rent this cottage again.
