Harrison Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 8

Chain of Lakes Cottage on Townline Lake is a private, clean, charming Lakefront 3 Bedroom Cottage, with private Sandy Beach, 25' Dock, and Gazebo on the deck for enjoying a terrific view of the entire crystal clear, spring-fed "All Sports" lake and channels. A Paddleboat, with a built in cooler, and Row Boat are included. This cottage is in a unique area because you are not confined to just one lake; all 5 lakes have easily accessible channels leading to the other lakes for more variety (Townline Lake, Sand Lake, Icehouse Lake, Boathouse Lake, Haven Lake and Lost Lake).

Townline Lake (Chain of Lakes' deepest lake) is stocked yearly with fish for exceptional fishing - Northern Pike, Perch, Bass, Jumble Bluegill, Bluegill, Catfish, Sun Fish, Pan Fish, Sheephead, and more. Repeat customers visit every year because of the fishing; and have told me that Chain of Lakes offers the best fishing they have ever seen. Several customers have caught 36" Northern Pike off our dock.

The lakes have a sandy bottom in several areas for Swimming; are great for Boating, Sailing, Waterskiing, Jet Skiing, Tubing, Canoeing, Paddle Boating, Fishing, or just relaxing while watching a variety of wildlife swim by. There is quiet time on all lakes (no wake) from 7:30 pm until 11:00 am; giving fishermen their time to fish.

The cottage is fully carpeted, sleeps 6 to 8 people; has a fully furnished kitchen with snack bar, and 2 separate dining areas; the living room includes fireplace, a dining area, a couch which opens up to a bed (sleeps 2), comfortable furniture for relaxing, HD TV with DVD & VCR, and large doorwall leading to the deck for lakefront viewing pleasure.

The deck, facing West, has a Gazebo (with screen), variety of deck furniture, large picnic table, and 2 charcoal grills. While relaxing on the deck, enjoy a great view of the beach, entire lake, channels, spectacular sunsets, and a beautiful Moon reflecting across Lake. There is a stone fire pit for campfires.

Wooded, undeveloped peninsular along lakes' channels has Bald Eagles, Deer, Turkeys, Loons, Ducks, etc. This area was quoted in the newspaper as being the "most beautiful area in Clare County with 20 lakes in 20 minutes".

The cottage is centrally located for shorter day trips to other parts of Michigan; such as Mt. Pleasant Soar Eagle Casino, Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Bridge, Mackinaw Island, Fort Michilimackinac, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Traverse City Cherry Festival, shopping in Petoskey, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland (the World's largest Christmas store under one roof), Rogers City Gypsum Mines and the Tourist Center displaying fossils millions of years old, and more.

Let your imagination run wild! I have guests who believe they are in Hawaii when they visit. Every year they put up their twinkling lights on the deck, dress in Hawaiian clothing, play Hawaiian music, relax under the Weeping Willow tree in their hammock while enjoying the tropical breeze and listening to sounds of the wind and water splashing up on the shoreline, while roasting a pig for their evening Lau with their family. Fun and unbelievable!!

Harrison offers great pizza, hard ice cream parlors, family and fine dining, great Italian and Chinese restaurants, fast food restaurants, Antique stores, Crafter's Market, weekend Flea Market, Gift shops, MacLean's Mercantile, Bowling, Horseback Riding, Historical Museum sites, and much more.

About Michele

My main concern is to have my guests enjoy their vacation at the Chain of Lakes cottage and to give my guests any and all information possible about the area to make their stay as pleasurable as possible. I have been told by numerous guests that I am a "guest-first", customer friendly and very accommodating host. When customers call with questions, I try to help them as much as possible.

I am very fussy about the cleanliness of the cottage before my guests arrive and I have an excellent cleaning lady, who is just as particular. All of my guests have commented as soon as they walk in the cottage how clean everything is.

I welcome ideas, suggestions and comments from my guests, and try to accommodate their requests. Every year we update as much as possible at the cottage, including new purchases to surprise my repeat customers.

I have been hosting this cottage for 15 years, and have many satisfied repeat customers and have made new friendships, as well. I have accumulated several guests books for comments by guests. Some guests share their ideas of places or events they have enjoyed during their stay. They write that they will always remember the quality time they shared with their family creating lasting memories to always treasure. Others have referred to the cottage as "Paradise" and "A Slice of Heaven".

Beautiful scenery relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for few nights to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few days. Our stay here helped us achieve just that! We spent our days relaxing by the Bon fire, fishing, and enjoying the beautiful view.

We highly recommend this place as a relaxing getaway!

Michele the owner was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond of appropriately setting expectations such as what to bring, where to go in town, and directions!

This is a beautiful well managed rental!

Thank you again Michele!

Weekend Get a Way

  • 5 of 5

This was the PERFECT spot for a restful vacation. Everything was just as noted in the description and the place was super CLEAN! Michele was very helpful prior to our arrival and even gave us great tips on places to go and things to do. Mother Nature was the only problem. Rained most of the stay, but we made the best of it. I highly recommend this place for your get away. We only stayed the weekend, but my husband and I are planning on staying much longer next year, if possible.

Just returned home and had a great time

  • 5 of 5

Just as described and very clean. Nice sandy beach with sandy lake bottom. We enjoyed using the paddle boat several times. Lots of big fish right off the edge of the dock. The weather didn't cooperate our first two days so we took a road trip up to the island about a 2 hour drive. Close enough to the bridge and island for an easy day trip but far enough away that there are no crowds.

Owner's Response: Nicole, I apologize for my delay in thanking you for your great review. I just wanted to thank you for taking your time to give me a review. Your trip of going to Mackinaw was a great addition to put in your review. I wish I could have given you good weather as well, but that is out of my realm of control. Thank you again, and hope to see you next year.

The Perfect Getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I just arrived home from our weekend at the cabin and we are already talking about planning a 2nd stay again this summer! We had an amazing time. The cabin had everything we wanted both inside and out. Outside, perfectly placed on a gorgeous lake with a beautiful view, a nice sized deck and your own private little sandy beach. Inside, very cozy and clean with everything you would need for an enjoyable and restful stay. And the owner Michele is so incredibly nice. She was quick to return my calls and provided us with alot of information on the area and things to do & see. I think she was more excited for our trip than we were! We DEFINITELY plan to get back there soon!

Only 10 feet from the water, Beautiful!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd All Girls weekend. The 8 of us had a fantastic time. We paddle boated, we fished, we swam and at night toasted marshmallows in our roaring bonfire . The gazebo on the back was the perfect place for us to reminisce

and catch up.. There was a family of ducks that came by to say hi too..You couldn't ask for a cleaner more organized cottage. Everything we needed was there and the party store for snacks was real close, next time we are thinking of walking there it's only a few miles from the cottage. The owner Michele is so very nice and goes out of her way to make sure your stay will be easy and stress free. I love talking on the phone to her it felt like talking to an old friend. We shopped at the local stores and and ate at the pizza place in town.We can't wait to go back!!
