This property had everything we needed. It was beautiful and clean. We felt right at home from the minute we walked in. It was our first experience with a vacation rental and we will do it again. We were able to sight see, or just relax.
This is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls and Mackinac Island. It is not a far drive to any of them.
As for the house itself, the pictures do not do it justice. It is spotless, has very comfortable beds and the kitchen is stocked with all of the cooking utensils you need. There is a table and chairs on the deck so you can enjoy being outside watching the beautiful sunsets.
Gary was great to work with. He came right over when we had issues with the boat motor and made sure everything was fixed right away. He made sure we had plenty of firewood for the entire week.
I would definitely recommend renting this house if you plan to vacation in the Upper Peninsula! It's fabulous!
Wonderful clean cottage. We enjoyed good weather for all our day trips...Mackinac Island, Sault Ste Marie, Tahquanamon Falls, and local fishing. This area is very peaceful with low traffic, a safe place for the kids to bike and quad. Thanks Gary and Trudy!
The house on Strouble Lake was a wounderful location for all our day trips. We went to Mackinac Island, Picture Rocks, took the cruise to see the ship wreaks, the Soo Locks and Tahquamenon Falls. We had good food at The Cut River resturant, the Bay View Inn and, Johnny B's pizza which were close by. The house was very clean, and appears as if it was newly built. Gary the owner was great to work with.
We enjoyed ourselves so much during our stay. The house was beautiful and super clean. There was plenty of room for everyone, including our German Shepherd to run around and play. The firewood was provided, the lake was beautiful and mother nature was kind enough to grace us with the sun. We will definitely come back. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
My wife, son and I, and some additional friends stayed at Gary and Trudy's lake house in late February as a home base for snowmobiling. The house came as a referral from some mutual friends. The house as others have said exceeded all expectations, and for selfish reasons I hate to write to good of a review,(because I would like to have it for myself) but this place is truly a DIAMOND in the rough. Trail access was easy in every direction, as well as gas at Rexton country store, the lake was very safe to ride on with the West side sporting some deep powder which our boys found, even after a full days ride.
Almost all the trails we rode were tabletop smooth, accessing areas like Mac Island,(via the ice bridge) Taq Falls, and Hulbert to see the deer. the house comes highly recommended and will exceed your expectations.
