What a fantastic home! There was room to spare for 11 of us with lots of living spaces and bathrooms. The house was immaculate when we arrived and we loved the extra touches and the warmth and charm of the home. The beach area was perfect for the kids and the water shallow and warm enough for the 2-year old who does not yet swim. He, in fact, cried when he got home because he didn't want to leave "The Lindy House". And the view from the great room is breathtaking! Thank you Nastasi family for making us feel so welcome. We would love to repeat this experience!
Beautiful and comfortable for a large family
What a fantastic spot for our family! Just perfect and we loved it in so many ways. Building more memories on Glen Lake- can't beat it.
Fabulous property that we would rent again!
Terrific house! We were first time “Home Away” users, and a little wary of renting someone else’s home. Nonetheless, we were delighted and completely comfortable from the moment we entered this house. The kitchen and all bathrooms were pristine and the house was immaculate. The linens and towels were plentiful and felt brand new. There were even a dozen beach towels in a cabinet in the basement. The furniture was comfortable. No clutter whatsoever. All dressers and closets (except for a few that the owner keeps locked for their things) were empty. It was so easy to unpack and feel right at home. The house is gorgeous with high ceilings, lots of windows overlooking the water, and lots of space. The master bathroom is beautiful and luxurious. Great laundry room with front load washer and dryer. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need.
The setting on the beach is perfect. Our 3 and 4 year old grandchildren played in the sand and waded in the water for hours. It was wonderful to have use of the owner’s paddleboat, which provided many hours of entertainment. We also rented a motor boat one day, and it was so convenient to be able to dock it at the house for the afternoon. The location was very convenient. It took just a few minutes to drive to downtown Glen Arbor, and was very convenient to many Lake Michigan beaches.
The owner was always available for questions, and very pleasant to work with. He was always responsive to any needs (which were few).
We hope to return to this house. We highly recommend it. We had a perfect vacation.
Northern Michigan at its' finest!
This is a beautiful home! Had myself, wife, sister from Owosso & her 2 grandkids (6 & 13), brother & his 16 year old daughter from AZ. We had many lunches & dinners on deck off dining room with a gorgeous view. The kitchen has everything imaginable, even a wine cooler cabinet for bottles of wine. There are tons of serving dishes, cookie sheets, mixer, colander, measuring utensils, corkscrew & pot holders. Gas range was state of the art. Used the huge dining room table (set for 6) for dinners & also the 4 bar stools at the kitchen island.
Main floor king bedroom & attached private bath are huge. Main floor also has a half bath. Huge main floor laundry room has front loading washer & dryer. Bring your own soaps. Living room is very relaxing with floor to ceiling windows & a full window seat overlooking Alligator Hill, Little Glen Lake & the dunes. A stereo for CD/cassettes is on a separate table by the dining room. We worked 2 of the jigsaw puzzles, played backgammon & used the colors & coloring books included. The upstairs worked out great for sleeping & bathrooms. The king bedroom has its own private bath. The queen bedroom has a bathroom that was shared with kid’s room. The kids bonus bedroom was huge. Each kid had their own bed, plus a full bed & couch that never was used. The loft was a nice place to sit. The basement is partially finished with its own bathroom & stackable washer/dryer.
Made a trip to Mackinaw City to see another brother, went over the Mackinaw Bridge, which the kids had never seen before. Hiked the sand dunes & Pierce Stocking drive is a must. Rented 4 kayaks for 24 hours from Crystal River in Glen Arbor. They drop off & pick up at house along with paddles & life vests. Went swimming & took the paddle boat out (that was included with the house rental). The 6 year old played all day in the sandy beach right outside the house. The outside shower hosed off those sandy feet. Campfires every night with s’mores & ghost stories, shopping in Glen Arbor, garden tour in TC peninsula, caught “Music on the Mountain” concert at the Homestead Resort Wednesday nights was awesome.
Bought groceries at Tom’s food market at M-72 in TC, but Glen Arbor has a fine grocery store. Had a great time! The owner was very receptive to our questions, very good to work with. Northern Michigan cell phone service is sketchy at best, found texting worked best. We hope to return & would definitely recommend this home to our friends.
Beautiful property, private beach, gorgeous views, gracious owner. We had 4 children under 7 and the water was perfect. We could walk out quite a distance. The kids loved both the beach and the water. The house was perfect for 6 adults and 4 children. Big Glen Lake is a few minutes away and we were able to rent sailboats for 2 hours. We had a fantastic time!
The Sand Dunes are minutes away (by car) and you view the Dune Climb from the Dock.
Good Morning America named this area the most beautiful place in America. Situated between two beautiful Lake Michigan coastal towns of Glen Arbor and Empire, Michigan. This area is part of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and provides miles of biking/hiking trails, as well as many opportunities to view beautiful sunsets and views from the Pierce Stocking Drive. Just 22 miles from Traverse City, Michigan.
