Great location and very nice place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here while visiting Mackinaw Island for much lower rates than the island. Stephanie and Bert met us on arrival and explained everything. Internet was good and cable tv was nice. Right across the street from Sheplers Ferry Dock and near the shops downtown. Bakery is close by and souvenir stores too.

Highly recommend. We would stay here again.

Labor day weekend

  • 5 of 5

We came to Mackinaw City to walk the bridge with my 90 year old dad. We loved the location of the cottage! We were able to walk across the street to Shelper Ferry to visit the island. Our young adults were able to walk downtown town and didn't have to worry about looking for a parking space. There also was a little area in the front yard with a table and chairs that we loved sitting at and watched the ferry.

The inside of the home was very clean and Steph the owner was wonderful to work with!

Great Hosts and Location! Nice home!

  • 5 of 5

We would like to thank our hosts for helping us arrange our accommodation and for all they did to make us feel so welcomed. They are extremely friendly and eager to answer any questions we had about what to do in the area.

We really wanted an up north, cottage feel and not just another boring hotel visit. We considered staying on the Island originally but we were so glad we decided to stay a little bit off the path. We had no idea Mackinaw City would be so quiet and easy to get around along with offering so much history, great places to eat, nightly entertainment and cute shops.

The cottage was beyond lovely and homey, so comfortable, extremely clean and spacious. We found it to be even better than advertised. There were two very comfortable sofas the owners had just added. The beds have super relaxing memory foam mattresses and soft bedding. We used the cooking utensils to make our meals and liked the complete sets of dishes and glasses very much. As it sometimes happens, we broke a wine glass and informed our hosts. They responded immediately. Within five minutes, they brought a new glass to complete the set again. They even added a bottle of wine for us!

The yard was conducive to visiting, offering a cute place to sit next to beautiful native flowers, brushes and trees – and you can see the magnificent blue waters of Lake Huron from there. The location is perfect: One minute walk to Shepler’s ferry to go to Mackinaw Island , and only one block to downtown! Walking just across the street brings you to Wawatam Park where you can grill, stroll along the shores, see the Mackinaw Bridge and watch the ferry boats taking people to Mackinac Island . We went there to observe the incredible night sky with thousands of clearly visible stars.

This is a great property for a group of two couples or a family with children.

We can highly recommend this cottage and we will return next summer for sure.

Wonderful location!

  • 4 of 5

The house was great! The owners met us at the house right away. We did wish there was a grill, but there was one across the street at the park. The house could use a couple more wine and water glasses (there were only two wine glasses), but over all I would stay again. One side note: there is no TV. We didn't miss it, but those with kids might have.

This home was perfect for our family's needs!! Cute, cozy, and the location could not be any more convenient! One minute walk to Sheplers ferry to go to Mackinaw Island, one minute walk to a beach and two minutes to downtown!
