This district on the west coast of Barbados is ideal for a relaxing Caribbean vacation. It was its placement at the edge of a tranquil and clear blue ocean that would see the Fitts district become a predominantly fishing village. Fishing still goes on there to this day, extending toward its neighbouring Paynes Bay Fishing Market. The area contains several reefs and with clear blue waters its good for snorkelling. Occasionally you may even spot a turtle surface.
Sea-Eagle Beach Bungalow is ideal for the persons or couple, or family who are budget conscious but also want the luxury of being on the beach without the expense.

We stayed in this property in December 2015 as a group of three.
There was constant wind from the sea side so it was always pleasantly cool and we didn't even need the A/C. Upon our arrival we were provided with a few groceries (milk, juice, bananas etc) which was very nice. Stacey, the housekeeper, explained everything to us and was able to answer any questions we had.
The house itself is lovely - nicely decorated and clean with two good-sized bedrooms. It's looks exactly like in the pictures. The terrace and its location right on the beach are absolute highlights. There are also comfortable beach chairs which can be used.
The neighbours were very friendly and often stopped for a quick chat or a brief hello.
A downside of the house is the highway which is located close nearby, thus there is always some street noise to be heard. The sea in front of the house has a lot of sea urchins and stones, so shoes are a must when entering the water.
The house was great. It fits 4 people easily and each bedroom has a separate bathroom. Kitchen is a bit outdated but is functional and good enough for a week or two stay. We enjoyed the back porch which is feet away and above the water. During sunset, the waves were reaching the steps leading to the beach and there is a great spot where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. The house is looking west, so the sunset is right out back.
The bedrooms have AC units which come in handy if humidity gets bad, but other than that, there is plenty of air. The house has no glass windows, so is really open (it has metal shades that lock down to close the window openings). Manfred was very helpful and was available via phone 24/7. He even called the day before our flights to see when we were arriving. We had rented a car as the place is 20-25 minutes away from the airport and wanted to explore the island, but there is public transportation which we never got to use. However, the house is very close to the street and is 5-10 min walk away from a large grocery store that has everything you may need.
We also did scuba diving in the waters behind the house. The beach has many corals everywhere so entry could be difficult, but once you are in (enter from 30-40 yards to the left or right) you can swim over some really cool coral reefs. You can also rent jet skis and boats from a nearby place.
I have two suggestions: There are too many bushes/tall plants behind the house, which hide the great ocean view. If these are trimmed down, it will open up the entire view. The house is also difficult to find the first time around. Maybe a well visible sign right on the street will be helpful. The driveway to the house is rather narrow and can be easily missed.
My Mom and I had a GREAT stay at Sea Eagle! It was just the vacation that we had in mind - right on the beach, went to bed with the sound of the waves, and walking distance to to some restaurants and a grocery store. The house is tucked away just enough to not feel like you are in the center of touristville but walking distance (along the beach) to a hotel that offers many outdoor water adventure activities. Manfred was also an outstanding host. He met us at the house when we arrive, showed us around, introduced us to the neighborhood and made himself very available if we were to have any questions. I would recommend this house to anyone who is traveling to Barbados!
Sea Eagle, my Beach Villa, is perfect for the travellers who just want to sit back and enjoy watching the sun set over the Caribbean Sea and spend their days walking on our white sand beaches. It is also perfect for the more fast-paced traveller who wants to stay in a rich, vibrant area with access to some of the best bars in the busy 1st and 2nd Streets of Holetown, just a 15 minute bus ride away.
Sea Eagle at Fitts Village is 25-30 minutes drive from the airport. Fitts Village is a fishing village on the west coast, it has it's own white sandy beaches and stunning blue water. Fitts Village has its own supermarket & restaurants and is within easy access into Holetown and Bridgetown. The villa is ideally located for exploring the west coast and is within easy walking distance to local amenities.
Buses pass directly by the Beach Highway every 5 mins or so in both directions - taking one is a great experience.
For shopping Limegrove, Barbados' first mixed use lifestyle centre, is located in the heart of Holetown which is 5 minutes on the bus and is home to many of the world's leading retail brands. Unparalleled in Barbados and the Caribbean region, Limegrove incorporates a range of local and global retailers in a setting built around three distinctly different courtyards including boutiques, restaurants, delis, cafes, bars, gourmet foods, an art gallery, cinemas, a spa and salon, and a range of special event spaces. If you enjoy night life Holetown or Bridgetown are close by for late night entertainment and many other attractions.
The property is easily accessed via the Highway from the Airport. Follow signs to 'Warrens' from there follow signs to 'Spring Garden' roundabout on the West Coast. At Spring Garden take the third exit (Right=North) onto Highway One. After tow miles on the same road you will come down a hill into Fitts Village. The property is on the beach side. The land-mark is Cristal Cove on the Beach side.
