About JoAnne Godfrey

We first rented a cottage on Hall's lake next door to this cottage and enjoyed great family time. We were surprised the lake was an all sports lake and yet it was not crowded with too many jet skis and noise. We liked the lake so much that we ended up buying it since it was just a 2 1/2 hour drive from our home in Royal Oak. We have been enjoying it now for over 10 years! A few years later this home went on the market and we decided to invest in it to keep us active in our retirement years.

JoAnne Godfrey purchased this cottage in 2013

Why JoAnne Godfrey chose Michigan

Its a great site and we like that the natural area is now in a conservancy so that it will never be overdeveloped, keeping the lake uncrowded and enjoying the area which is close to many beautiful golf courses and great activities.

What makes this cottage unique

I love that the cottage is on a lake that is never overcrowded and we enjoy the natural area that adds to the coziness. The lake provides that up north rustic feel, yet it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from the metro Detroit area. Located near Central Michigan University makes it an ideal vacation spot for families with students attending or getting ready to graduate. The close proximity of the Soaring Eagle Casino and the dozen or so golf courses make it attractive to all ages! Our location is central to many of Michigan's beautiful fall color scenic driving routes to our west, east and north! Breathtaking views on the lake as well!
