Why The Owner chose Guatemala

I bought this property in 2004 as my home. I recently moved back to the UK but didn’t want to sell the house as I visit regularly and like everyone here still love Antigua so started to rent it out as a vacation property.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is really close to the centre of Antigua and in walking distance to all the main sights, restaurants and night life. The house is elegantly decorated yet still extremely cozy and comfortable. The area is quiet, secure and relaxing. The house is very well equipped with all modern conveniences and you will feel at home right away. There is a housekeeper provided to do cleaning and laundry and access to English speaking assistance and travel planning services.

Antigua convenience and ease

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for 5 nights after arriving in our private shuttle direct from GUA. Antigua was a wonderful experience and the apartment was perfect for our stay. Loads of space to spread out and well equipped kitchen (although we mostly ate out). The bedroom was cool and quiet on the lower level. Walk to Central plaza in 10 minutes. Leonor did our laundry in house and our only regret was not learning Spanish before the journey.

cute and tranquil spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Becky's apartment, and it was everything we expected. The place was spotless and cozy, with fresh flowers when we arrived. All of the amenities promised were there, and we were completely set up to be independent. Waking up each day we enjoyed our coffee on the terrace and watched the birds in the garden. We had everything we needed, were super close to the center of Antigua as well as the local market and the artisan markets for shopping. Thanks Becky!

Great place to stay for Hubby and Me!

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Antigua many times and we loved this little apartment! Usually we go with our whole family, which is 5 of us, but this time it was just me and my husband and actually I was there alone for several days before he arrived. The place was very quiet and not too far from everything and I felt very safe. The apartment has everything we needed and they provided us with a lovely fruit bowl upon arrival. The housekeep did all of our dishes and laundry daily, which was a nice bonus. The water was hot and the pressure was good, which a nice bonus in Antigua. Becky, her house manager and housekeeper were all wonderful and responsive to everything. They even had a wonder book of what to do and where to go that was helpful. We would stay there again or rent the larger house if our family went there together. I already miss Antigua...

My wife and I stayed at Becky's apartment during a week of language school in early March; this well-furnished and comfortable apartment was a short walk from the market and no more than 20 minutes from the far side of Antigua. We loved the quiet, the views of Agua and the upper level patio where we spent every moment we could. Leonor, the housekeeper, was attentive and went out of her way to make sure that we had clothes for her to wash. Can think of only 2 negatives: the stairs without railing might be tough for someone with bad knees or hips, and a bar of soap in the shower would have been a nice touch. We would certainly consider staying in this apartment again if back in Antigua.

Quiet, safe, and clean

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was early in February. The location was great, right on the edge of town. It was very quiet and inside of a beautifully landscaped, gated courtyard. The view from the living room window was of Agua Volcano. The apartment was very well equipped with a book to inform you of the things to do locally. It had answers for all you questions. The only criticism I have is that the bedroom is downstairs and the bathroom is upstairs. Everything else eas perfect. I highly recommend a stay at Becky's apartment.

Perfect size/convenient,safe location

  • 4 of 5

My daughter and I stayed in this apartment for two weeks in January. It is the perfect size for 2-3 people.

Leonora the housekeeper came in every weekday....the place was spotless. The security of a locked gate is great and provides peace of mind. Location is great as well. Easy walk to the central park area and even easier to the grocery store and the mercardo.

The apartment itself is set up with the main living area upstairs (w/small patio off kitchen) and the bedroom is downstairs. There is a sofa bed of sorts in a little area just off the bedroom. This is where my daughter slept. She is a little lightweight young adult and the sofa bed was very noisy (for both of us) every time she moved. She noted that it was also very hard, so after the first week, she slept upstairs on the couch and was very content with that arrangement. The bedroom itself is a nice setup and comfortable.

We love to cook most of our meals, eating out only 25% of the time. The kitchen could be better stocked with cooking utensils. It really does not lack anything, but a small full set of pots/pans/bakeware would be nice. We did request that the knives be sharpened and left them out on the counter except for two. They were extremely dull and we could not even cut a tomato. The knives were taken, but never brought back. Same story with the hand can dull that it broke. We never did get a replacement after reporting it. Also, we could not light the oven....did not know if there was supposed to be a pilot matches provided would lead you to believe that there should be a pilot light. There was a "spark" button, but that did not work. Leonora did not know and she and I ended up lighting it with a paper match..... I ended up going out to buy stick matches because they were not provided and are safer than the short paper matches.

A few kitchen stock improvements and a better sleeping sofa bed would make this a 5 star place for me.

We did enjoy our stay so much. Short of the few things mentioned above, I would stay in the apartment again. The condo in the same building (same owner) is really lovely. We have stayed there in the past.

Love Antigua and will continue to visit again and again!
