We are very close to Union Station. The DC Circulator bus (just $1 and runs every 10 minutes) departs from Union Station and stops 1 block from our building. But you could also walk if you prefer. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk to Union Station. It's a beautiful walk!
You really don't need a car in this location. But we understand that some people drive into the city. Do you need parking? Just ask. We may be able to offer an off-street space at a small additional fee.

This rental was great for our family of 4 (including 2 teens). The unit was well-stocked and quiet. Being behind federal buildings with 24/7 security made us feel safe, although the unit is on a residential street. There are a few (expensive) corner markets in the area, and more than a few great restaurants. The Metro IS SO CLOSE! Walking distance to Old Library of Congress and Union Station. The unit is not accessible at all.
This place is right by The Capitol South Metro stop on a quiet, charming street with row houses and across from The Capitol, Library of Congress Buildings and Congressional buildings. It was just what I had hoped for. My husband and I took our two sons, ages 15 and 11, to visit an older son working there, and I wanted to feel like I lived there and was part of the neighborhood, as I had grown up in Northern Virginia. We stayed for 4 days and it was great! We used the metro every day and it couldn't possibly have been closer and more convenient. We went to the Eastern market and walked home because it was so close. There are some great places to eat within walking distance, like Good Stuff burgers and We the Pizza. We ate breakfast in our apt. each morning and then we were gone most of the day. but came home in the evenings after dinner to relax and watch football. The unit has 2 bedrooms with very soft beds and bedding. Everything has been redone and is very nice. Especially the bathroom. The unit is a little quirky with narrow halls, tiny closets, and crooked walls and floors, and old wooden windows that don't fit perfectly, but that is what made it interesting and better than a boring hotel! My only request would be to have 2 luggage stands in each bedroom to help with clothes storage. We had a car for part of the time and were able to have a spot in the back for parking. DC is an amazing city with so much to see and do and we loved it all. We rented bikes to ride around the monuments, we went to the White House, and Ford's theater, we drove out to Mount Vernon and the new monument at the Pentagon. We walked down the mall and saw museums and visited the Capitol among other things. Driving is easy in this city, but the metro is easier and clean and safe! I was worried about safety before I went, but when I got there I always felt very safe! I totally recommend this place if you are a little outgoing and enjoy feeling like you are a part of the city.
This apartment is very clean and perfectly located to see the Capitol Building and many Smithsonia museums. The Metro stop is a short block away. The only suggestion I would make is that there vert limited living room furniture with only seating for two on one couch and no place to eat.
