The cabin is on a private island complete with 18 acres of old growth forest on Juggler Lake, Minnesota…3 hours and 50 minutes from Minneapolis and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Fargo. Ideal for a romantic weekend or a family vacation the kids will never forget. The cabin is an A-frame with 18 Ft. ceilings in the main room, three bedrooms, six beds (one king, two doubles, and 3 singles) and two bathrooms. The cabin includes a jetted tub in the master bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with two refrigerators and two freezers, a Webber grill, a stone fireplace, and three patios facing North, West, and South. The cabin comes equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi. and a diving dock.
The lake is exceptionally clean and is perfect for swimming, boating, and water sports. The lake has excellent fishing especially in the spring and fall. You can catch fish right off the docks, but for bigger fish you will want to take the boat out. You can expect to catch Sun Fish, Perch, Walleye, Northern, and Bass. We have special rates before Memorial Day and after Labor Day for people looking to take advantage of the fishing.
The forest is full of wildlife and great for hiking. The island is 18 totally private acres of old growth forest, undeveloped and wild. There are sugar maples, red maples, birch, oaks, white pines, black ash, balsam fir, spruce, basswood, and ironwood. You can find morels in early May. There are wild strawberries, wild ginger, and lady slippers in summer. There is stunning foliage in fall. There are porcupines, deer, beavers, eagles, cranes, loons, hummingbirds, owls, birds, and squirrels on the island.
The island is forty minutes from Itasca State Park where you can rent bikes and visit the headwaters of the Mississippi!!
We can use our pontoon and we will meet you at the dock with the pontoon to give you tips on operation.... or you can bring your own boats to fish or ski. There will be a metal canoe for your use.
There are parking spots at the public access and a place to launch boats. The island is about a three minute boat ride from the dock at the public access... or about six hundred feet from mainland.
You have the entire island to yourself to hike, play, fish, pick wild strawberries, or just relax in total seclusion!!
We live in Fargo, North Dakota. This our family cabin and are excited to share it with you.
Tyler Nelson purchased this cabin in 1956
This is one of the most unique properties in Minnesota. This is one of my favorite places in the world and I think you will agree with me after your stay.
A private forest for hiking, crystal clear water for swimming/fishing, and the peacefulness that comes with being on island with your family.
Our extended family group (from age 1 to 87 years old!) had a lovely week enjoying the island together. We boated, fished, swam, sat around the campfire, shared meals and swapped stories beneath the starry night skies. All agreed that this was the best vacation we'd had in a long time! Would love to return one day. Thank you to our gracious hosts!
Our family vacation was all we could have wanted, with Bald Eagles, loons and wonderful lake views. We collectively agreed we want to go back next year.
This was our second time here. Will do it again so relaxing, beautiful. The weather wasn't always the best it did rain, the house is very nice to read a book or catch a nap. Fishing was great a good time spent on the water. So glad I found this cabin on a private island on Juggler lake.
Its such a nice property. Owners have a water cooler system so no need to bring drinking water and offer towels and all the bedding. Beds are comfortable enough fans in each room if needed. Beverage refrigerator and extra freezer were also great to have. Would be perfect for kayaking around the lake. Access road for parking was more of a backroad so a high profile vehicle is a good idea. Public access road is nice and maintained. We had a great time and thanks to Brian, Mary and Tyler for being helpful and available
We had the BEST stay at this lovely island home. My husband and I spent the week relaxing while our golden retriever had the most epic week of his life, wandering the woods and swimming in the lake. The owners (Mary, Brian, & Tyler) were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The home is comfortable and has gorgeous views of the lake out every window. The lake is quiet and SO clear. We caught sunfish off the dock and spent hours outside on the decks enjoying the incredible views. We even saw the Northern Lights one night! Wildlife is abound, including a resident eagle who was often seen soaring above looking for the next meal. This place is a true gem and we can't wait to return next year with our family!!
Enjoyed the week with 7 persons: spacious, nice house with plenty of surrounding green. Clear, warm water with a piece of sandy shore. Appreciated the option to use boats and pontoon.
