The property was incredible! We stayed there as "the house" for our wedding! You know, the house where you want the picturesque bathrooms to get ready in while the photographer takes pictures, the incredible windows and lighting to photograph the dress and family in front of, etc. This house was a very short walk to the base of Peak 8, sizeable, AND had INCREDIBLE amenities. The kitchen appliances were well-stocked (blender, crockpot, plenty of large pots and pans for cooking, coffee maker and coffee bean grinder, etc.), there was a large movie selection for the theater room, glasses for any occasion could be found (champagne flutes that we definitely needed for celebrating, martini glasses, rocks glasses, a mixer, wine glasses, tons of coffee mugs...), very fast wi-fi, and the bathrooms were amazing! I believe the house may have even had a sound system installed throughout, because I saw several of the rooms where you had the option for connecting ipods or phones through bluetooth, or playing CD's or something of that sort. I'm not sure if it was accessible to guests or not, since we never needed it (we brought a regular iHome to play music in the master while we got ready in the mornings). I also saw on the LAST day we were there that there is actually a coffee pot installed into the master bathroom cabinet for making coffee in the mornings while you get ready! And there is a TV above the master jacuzzi tub for lounging in the tub and watching TV.
Honestly, the only downside that we felt the entire trip was the driveway. It has a steep grade, so in the wintertime--such as January in a snowstorm--even our AWD drive vehicles had a rough go of it to get out of the driveway. We got stuck on multiple occasions, and it required a lot of shoveling. However, it snowed for 4 days straight while we were there. The lodging company provides their own snow plows to come maintain driveways if the houses receive more than 4" of snow, and an employee came out promptly on the day of the wedding when my husband called them and explained that we were all stuck in the driveway and needed a plow ASAP.
** Pictures 13, 14, 15, and 16 were either old pictures from before a remodel or behind some of the locked doors labeled "private". I noticed (after I got there) that those rooms were "missing" from the house because I had planned out guest sleeping arrangements, other photo prop setups, etc...which had to be changed upon arriving and not finding those rooms.
We had the opportunity to have skied Summit County again while spending our time off of the mountain in what is the best house available for families. It not only was impeccably designed, but also had ample room and amenities for every part of our extended family. To boot, the house is conveniently located just steps from the base of peak eight.
Boars Nest is an amazing house with great amenitities with the best location in Breckenridge. I have rented multiple houses on peak 8 and Boars Nest is the best house I have stayed at thus far. I would recommend boars nest to any friend, family or person looking to rent a house in Breckenridge.
Boar's Nest could not have been a more perfect property for our vacation. The pictures just don't do it justice. The vistas from the house are phenomenal. No detail was forgotten in its design. All of the bedrooms are comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious. The living room and rec room are so inviting and comfortable and provide more than enough seating that you feel like you're in your own cozy home. The "theatre" was spectacular. I think if this was a ski trip we might have used it more, but that's our own fault. The kitchen is well-equipped with top notch appliances and accessories. Oh, and don't forget about the surround sound that is wired throughout the house, including the front deck and hot-tub patio!
As for convenience to downtown, you are a quick walk up the hill to the gondola and free bus stop. Or it's about 3/4 of a mile downhilll to main street and then the free bus up the hill!
I was here for a wedding with a houseful of friends and we all agreed we wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the home. I would definitely rent this property again.
