Baldwin Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 BEDROOMS 1 BATH COMPLETELY SURROUNDED BY FOREST! NO NEIGHBORS!

The Wolf Lake Lodge is an awesome new cabin located 1 mile from beautiful Wolf Lake, in Lake County, Northern Michigan. We are conveniently located 7 miles north of Baldwin Michigan right off of N M-37. The Wolf Lake Lodge is situated in the heart of the Manistee National Forest on 3 acres and borders thousands of acres of National Forest in Lake County. Lake County consists of nearly 200,000 acres of public land -- almost half of the county. With 156 lakes, and 46 trout streams, four major rivers, and over 300 miles of ORV & ATV trails and over 750 miles of groomed connecting snowmobile trails, it's a sportsperson's and trail rider's paradise. Plus you can ride your ATV -ORV and Snowmobiles right from the cabin to the trails. If you don't have an ATV or Snowmobile, no problem, there are places nearby that rent them out.

World Class Fishing for Trout, Salmon and Steelhead, in the Pere Marquette River, Pine River, Big Manistee River and Little Manistee Rivers. Great pan fishing in most of the 156 lakes. Fantastic Cross Country Skiing and Mountain Biking are just minutes away on the North Country National Scenic Trails and Big M Trail or just ride your bike around Wolf Lake on the 4 mile paved road. Deer out number people 4 to 1 and Lake County has the largest population of wild turkeys in the state. Wolf Lake is so pure that there are two pairs of Bald Eagles, and three sets of Loon families, and countless numbers of ducks and geese that live on the lake all summer long.

To make sure your visit is as enjoyable as possible, the cabin is completely furnished and decorated in a rustic décor. Always very clean and comfortable, there is also a washer and dryer on sight. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level, each with a comfortable queen bed. Upstairs, the loft is very spacious and has another queen bed and 2 twin beds. There are 2 flat screen TVs, one in the loft and one in the living area and both have DVD players as well. The living room has Direct TV for your enjoyment. There is one very clean and spacious bathroom and also a dedicated laundry room. Outside there is a huge covered porch to relax on and also a 20 by 20 pole barn available for use during the snowmobile season. Charcoal grill and fire pit for family fun.

About Shawn Mullins

My wife and I have 3 beautiful daughters and we LOVE to travel and take family vacations! I grew up in this area and we absolutely LOVE northern Michigan and all that it offers! We are both working professionals and reside in the Toledo Ohio area.

Shawn Mullins purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Shawn Mullins chose Western Michigan

This cabin captured our hearts with its design and location!! The fact that it is very private but easily accessed really made purchasing it an easy decision. The cabin is totally secluded and adjoins thousands of acres of state land which is awesome for hiking, hunting or bird watching! Inside it is very spacious and the loft is a great space for kids!

What makes this cabin unique

The greatest benefit of Wolf Lake Lodge is its location. The fact that it is totally secluded but yet so close to numerous amounts of outdoor activities definitely makes this THE place to stay on your next Up North adventure!

Nice cabin-just no ORV access from cabin

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was really nice, we loved it. However there were no video games, no darts for dart board. Bummed a little, description read access or trails, map is deceiving as the cabin is not that close to 2 Mile Rd. After getting a warning from police, we had to trailer both of our ORV's to the staging area. Which isn't that far away, but time consuming. We would rent again, but would pick one with access to the trails first.

Owner's Response: After receiving what I would consider our first "bad" review, I immediately contacted this customer and tried to talk to them about their experience. I was very disappointed to not get any reply at all after multiple times of trying to get in touch with them. First and foremost I truly apologize for your experience. We strive to receive 5 star reviews from every customer. Let me first address the "deceiving" comment. When we fist listed on Homeaway and VRBO you just punch in your address and google automatically pins the cabin location. I honestly never realized that it was a few miles off on the map. When I received this review I immediately called to ask why the location was so far off and Homeaway let me know that it was their fault and then enabled me to correct the location. The dartboard that is shown in one of the pictures of the laundry room is an antique and is simply a decoration. The ATV trail is literally 30 yards from the end of the driveway and can be accessed through the woods behind the cabin. If these customers would have called I could have told them that and helped them out with any other questions or complaints they might have had. Again, we strive to get 5 star reviews from every one of our guests and even more than that we truly want every customer to LOVE our place as much as we do. Again, we apologize and hope that you will consider us for your next Up North adventure. Shawn & Cassie Mullins

clean cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very clean and well thought out. Open floor plan was great for hanging out in. Nice fire pit and we used the back yard bbq every night. ORV's can not be driven from property as its on M37. Other than that, the place is perfect.

Beautiful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our three kids and I stayed in this cabin for a weekend trip. It was beautiful, cozy and there was more than enough space. Everything was perfect and the owner Shawn was very pleasant to work with. We loved all the fishing Lake County has to offer. We would definitely recommend this cabin for anyone who loves Northern life.

The cabin is very roomy, welcoming a large number of people to stay. It has a fully equipt kitchen and washer and dryer. Only spent two nights here.. Wish I had more time to explore the area. I highly recommend this cabin and plan to return.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at this cabin. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We spent the weekend on our UTVs and the location was great to just hop on the trails. The owner was extremely helpful answering any questions we had and very responsive. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

Great family vacation destination

  • 5 of 5

My family of 7 (including 4 children of all ages and my mother) had an amazing experience at this cabin! There was plenty of room for all of us and it was very comfortable, clean and up to date! The décor was very appropriate and everything that we needed was included! The kids shared the upstairs loft, and it was very spacious! The location of the cabin was perfect to experience everything we had planned for our week. We were within reasonable driving distance to Traverse City, Ludington and Sleeping Bear Dunes, but there was also plenty to do and see right within our immediate area, such as swimming at Wolf Lake and rafting/canoeing at Pere Marquette! We also enjoyed some relaxing time at the cabin with games, puzzles, movies as well as bonfires each night! All around perfect getaway! I would definitely recommend this cabin to any family and the owners were very helpful and informative, answering all of our questions and making excellent suggestions for sights to see. We will be back!
