'Every morning, we had the opportunity to see the beautiful sunrise over the ocean. After dinner, we enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the moonrise and enjoying the cool ocean breeze. Thank you for making our stay in Maui so special and comfortable. All the amenities were available. The house was very welcoming and comfortable. We were able to visit the beaches and wake up to the sound of birds. Mahalo (thank you) and Aloha!'

Great home. Beautiful view and close to Hana. So relaxing.

My three adult kiddos stayed downstairs in the two bedroom home. It was very relaxing and the views are wonderful. Great spot to visit the sites in Hana.

A great place to stay in Hana!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay here......I would definitely recommend arriving during the day so that you can find it easily....we had no problem finding it, but could be a little difficult at night. The location is phenomenal.....the description did not do it justice. The beach is literally in your front yard and you can hear the ocean from anywhere in the house. As a family of 4, found it odd that we were charged additional for our children, as it is a 2 bedroom house. Found it even odder that only 2 beach towels were provided (luckily we had purchased 2 beach towels in Kahului before we arrived) so not sure what the extra $100 we paid for 2 nights was for, but oh well. Had an issue with only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper at the home when we arrived, but emailed Rebecca and she had more toilet paper there in a matter of hours. Not as well equipped as the condo we stayed at in West Maui, but hopefully just a matter of time as they rent it out more and more. We would definitely rent it again upon our return to Hana.

Wonderful renovation of this property in a great locaton

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at this house on Hana Bay several times before and loved the location and mostly loved the house. The recent renovation has really upped the WOW factor of the house interior. The kitchen and bathroom have been improved for functionality. Loved the dual shower and its decorations. And of course the location can't be beat, both for being close to town, yet being fairly private. We love visiting Hana and wouldn't stay anywhere else than this wonderful house.

Beautiful, private house on black rock beach

  • 5 of 5

This beachfront property in Hana is newer construction with new appliances, great condition cookware and amenities, and beautiful landscaping. The kitchen and living areas are open and spacious, and the shower is big enough for a party. :) The property is quiet, and located next to a black rock beach with very little beachgoer activity. My only complaint, if you could consider it a complaint, is that the rocks tended to beat us up a bit when we tried to swim, but I concede that we had strong current on our trip due to hurricanes Madeline and Lester looming in the Pacific, so the beach may be more inviting in normal conditions. I would recommend the property to anyone who is looking for a gorgeous view and quiet escape.

Unique experience!!! Please read if you are renting this place...

This house is gorgeous inside and out. The location is breathtaking and the inside is modern and has everything you will need. I visited with my wife and my two teenage daughters. It's probably a more appropriate place for couples on a romantic trip but the girls did have a blast as well. I think... :)

Here are a few pointers that will save you a ton of time! :

- There is very little cell reception in Hana (which I guess is a good thing), but if you go to the top of the hill by Fagan's cross, you will have full reception. Their antenna is over there.

- The above comment on cell is important because if you can't find the house when you get there, you will need help! We arrived at night and it took us an hour to find the place. It's a very small village so there is very little to no lighting in the streets. Try to arrive before sunset.

- Make sure you stop at Costco when you land at the airport before driving to Hana, everything is crazy expensive down there and there are two small convenient stores with limited supplies.

- The Road to Hana is rough. I loved it but the kids and the wife were livid. But it's still worth doing it on the way there. If you don't stop, the entire "curvy" part of the road will take you a bit more than 1.5 hours. But you might want to stop here and there on the road and count 3 hours from the time you leave the airport.

- The beach in the back of the house is rocky, you can swim there but your best bet is to go to a gorgeous beach just outside of town with fine sand and nicer waves. It's Koki beach.

- They have two nice restaurants but they are quite expensive, so I recommend you try them but instead go to one of the few food trucks they have around town and take your food to the house. The place is so nice on the deck, you can't beat it.

- People have complained here about the lack of AC but when you see some of the poverty around town, there is nothing to complain about. We slept with the window opened and the ceiling fan going and it was awesome. The sound of the waves, the rain storm at night. I miss it when I go to bed now...

- Don't believe that the road to Hana is your only option. The "highway" going south is actually an easier drive, a few miles are scary but the rest is a ton easier than the "Hana Road", and it won't take you that much longer.

- I recommend you spend the last night of two of your trip closer to civilization so that you can get to the airport easily the day you have to leave.

Enjoy Hana!

The property is on the beach at Hana Bay, on the island of Maui. There is a gentle ocean breeze almost every day of the year. There is also a light rain most nights. If you are here during a full moon, it is spectacular. The moon is incredibly bright because there are no city lights to compete with the moon light.
