Lower Manhattan has historically been—and still remains—the City’s primary business district. The pall cast over Lower Manhattan by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 was surprisingly short-lived because of the City and federal government’s resolve to rebuild and entice residents and businesses to the area. Despite prolonged controversies over the design of a rebuilt Ground Zero, Lower Manhattan began to pulse with new activity as old—and bold—office buildings were converted to apartments and as TriBeCa boomed with dozens of new and architecturally innovative developments.
The South Street Seaport and the Brooklyn Bridge along the East River offer a good variety of shops, cafes, hotels and restaurants as well as regularly scheduled concerts, boat rides and other activities, which adds to its ability to attract an influx of new residents, putting Lower Manhattan well on its way to becoming a vibrant mixed-use community.
North of Wall Street and the South Street Seaport lie City Hall, the Civic Center and the courts around Foley Square, Chinatown and Little Italy—all within walking distance of the Financial District—as is the Hudson-side esplanade at Battery Park City, the major retail facilities at the World Financial Center and the many restaurants and nightlife spots of TriBeCa to the west. Though the area has obvious appeal for people who work in the district, nearly all major subways stop close by.

This apartment was the perfect place for our family reunion in NYC. It has plenty of room for the ten of us. Well equipped with a full kitchen to cook in. Air conditioning worked great. Washer and dryer in the unit. The location is fantastic if you want to stay in lower manhattan. There is a subway stop right around the corner with connections to all lines (Fulton center). Very quiet unit. I think it was just remodeled so everything is clean and new. Steve the manager was very accommodating and delivered everything as promised. In summary, you won't be disappointed with this choice.
There were 11 of us staying in the apartment and it was excellent! It is a very large apartment for Manhattan. Having heating and TVs in every room was a great luxury. It is in a great location, 2 minute walk to Broadway where there are lots of shops, brooklyn bridge is very close and the subway is only down the corner. The wifi and some of the TVs did stop working for the last few days of our stay, however Steve did get the internet provider to come over and fix it quite promptly. Would definitely recommend staying here if you have a large group! We loved it and would stay here again!
Beautiful apartment, large and comfortable, stocked kitchen, lots of towels etc. Loved the location as it is near Seaport, One World Trade, 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Staten Island Ferry, Brooklyn Bridge, and ChinaTown and Lower East Side. Convenient location to market, bars and restaurants and subway. Lots of room and privacy.
Outstanding property with plenty of space in NYC. Property kept near and clean with amenities including a dishwasher and full, large kitchen. Easy access with elevator , and a nice location downtown, close to Wall Street, Chinatown and other areas in the southern part of Manhattan. Owner is also very responsive and helpful. Would certainly stay again in the property for our next trip to New York.
Location great. Space generous. Beds comfy. Towels plentiful. Good bathrooms. Dishes and pots and pans well provided. Washer and dryer included. Public transit super easy. Fulton Market grocery store just steps away. Keys aplenty provided in the place. It all worked very nicely for our family of eight plus a local adult daughter and her fiancé who shared time with us in the place, too.
Only small negative: while we've often been welcomed to a week in a rental place by finding a "getting started" basket in the kitchen with a few basics, we were surprised to find nothing at all in this kitchen besides the equipment--no salt or pepper, no herbs, no dishwasher detergent. The property manager Steve did let us know in advance quite explicitly what was included, basics like paper towels and toilet paper (2 rolls per toilet), but having stayed in maybe a dozen different VRBO places between us we’d all arrived with the assumption that a few kitchen basics would be there. No big deal, but worth mentioning in case you choose to rent this place and want to pack a few coffee K-cups to get you started or bring your own spices for that favorite recipe.
All in all a very good experience and we would definitely rent this spot again. Thanks!
The apartment is spacious, and all in perfecly working order.
Forget the house facade . Apartment is very nice!
Location is perfect, near to many attractions, and just a minute from Subway-station. Clean and well-maintained property. If any of my friends are going to NYC, i will highly recommend this Apartment.
