Overview

About the property

Modern, Heated cottage/home on 3 gorgeous acres. 2 bathrooms, big kitchen!

If you are looking for peace and quiet, but close enough to all amenities, then this is the place for you. This wonderful, modern year round cottage offers everything you would need for a family vacation. Don't settle for an "old in the tooth" property! You are in the heart of the most prime vacation region of Maine - located by beautiful Pitcher Pond, and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, Camden, Rockport, and Belfast - you have access to boating, fishing, hiking, or just lounging around.

Just a quick bike ride, or nice hike, and you are at one of the best organic farms in the area - just buy from the roadside stand.

The cottage is turn key. Just bring some food…and all the rest is there waiting for you - including the bar-b-q! A spacious kitchen, large sitting room, and a huge deck awaits you. There are 2 bedrooms - one with an ensuite bathroom. There is also a 2nd full bathroom as well. Appliances include modern fridge, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee makers, washing machine and dryer. The property is located on 3 beautiful acres! You can easily sleep 6 in the two double beds and the sofa bed in the living room. I also provide a queen sized air mattress as well.

There is a flat screen TV with Direct TV for your use, plus internet service with wireless service. All of the amenities of home, but in this beautiful and tranquil setting.

This is also a wonderful winter getaway. The property is fully heated and has a wood burning stove as well!!!

Please note that the cottage is not waterfront property, although it is only 400 ft. from the lake. We do have a deeded access (our land) to the water just 1 minute away which is there for your use - albeit access with no dock. Public access to the public beach is only a few minutes away as well as a public boat launch. Also, for liability reasons there are no canoes or kayaks that come with the property, but are easily and cheaply rented.

About Michael Farquharson

I am originally from Toronto, Canada, now living in Boston, MA. The reason we bought this cottage is because it brings back ALL of the wonderful memories of weekends I spent in the beautiful cottage regions north of Toronto. This cottage is just as beautiful! We love spending time together as a family here to get away from it all and just be together.

Michael Farquharson purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Michael Farquharson chose Lincolnville

The main reason - it is a modern cottage, built only 12 years ago. It is WELL built, sitting on a real foundation. Fully insulated in the crawl space, and the attic, this is a wonderful winter property if you love winter sports. In the winter, it is quiet and secluded. The Camden ski bowl is minutes away, or grab the shovel and clear space on Pitcher Pond to go skating.

What makes this cottage unique

The property speaks for itself, and we are renting at a VERY reasonable price for this area - PRIME Maine Vacation location. Near to EVERYTHING!!!! Search Mid-Coast Maine on the internet and see the myriad of activities year round.

Fantastic, quiet house across from a beautiful lake!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! This house could not have been any nicer. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could ever need. The owner, Michael, and the property manager, Jack, were very responsive. We spent over a month here in the fall and the lake was gorgeous! Caught fish and canoed. It's so quiet and peaceful. There's a wonderful farm stand at the end of the road that carries fresh produce and raw milk. The local food store is not far, and Loncolnville beach and town are also close. Really pretty, quaint town with a nice beach and good restaurants. They just opened the Linconville general store and that's a must to visit with terrific pizza. Yes, great pizza in Maine! ( And coming from Jersey, we know about good pizza!) The house is very comfortable with nice beds and so much counter space in the kitchen. The wifi and TV were fine. Faster speed than we got back at our old house. The lake is one of the cleanest we've ever seen. There's a nice view of it from the front of the house. They have a public dock not far from the house as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here.

Great cabin in Lincolnville

  • 5 of 5

The owner was very accommodating. Cabin is clean and comfortable. Very convenient to have more than one bathroom. Location is beautiful -- wonderful view of Pitcher Pond from the porch (spent many hours relaxing on the porch). Kitchen is well stocked. Easy to get to Lincolnville, Belfast, Camden etc. Will definitely be returning.

Better inside then out.

  • 3 of 5

The yard was overgrown and had little outside furnishings. The outside door was falling apart and lopsided. Towels were few and small. No fun lake toys like a rafts or kayaks or canoe. No beach chairs. No games for a rainy day. The inside was nice, clean and roomy. Kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. There was a Lobster pot however there were no Lobster crackers.

Owner's Response: Marcelle, thanks so much for taking the time to give us some feedback. We are sorry you were not 100% satisfied. That is very unusual for us as we typically get 5 star reviews. Wish you had called as we do have plenty of towels, etc., would have told you where to find them. We decided not to have canoes or kayaks for liability purposes and the listing is clear about that. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Regarding the front door - it is being replaced next week. It is a 3 day job and didn't want to disturb our renters so we held off accordingly. Hope there was no significant disruption in this regard. Would be pleased to rectify these shortfalls should you want to stay with us in the future. Best regards, Michael

Lovely location from which to visit the beautiful towns in Mid-Coast Maine!

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautifully located property in Mid-Coast Maine. We enjoyed our four-night stay, visiting Ogunquit on our way up from the Boston area, Belfast, Camden, Rockport, Rockland (don't miss the Breakaway), Lincolnville Beach and Acadia National Park. We briefly visited Portland on our way back home. Camden was our favorite of the nearby towns, though we truly enjoyed them all.

Some of our favorite meals out -- Breakfast/brunch at Bell the Cat in Belfast; deli/soups/etc. at Market Basket in Rockport; dinner on the patio at Rhumb Lime in Camden, and lobster dinner at Union Lobster Pot in Ellsworth (on our way back from Acadia).

In terms of the property itself - it was very nice! We were two adults, two older teens and a Labrador Retriever. We were all quite comfortable. Working (direct) TV and internet, which I gather is not super common in the area. Well appointed kitchen, working gas grill, lovely deck (as per pictures), lovely view of the lake.

The only *minor* disappointment we experienced is that I had mistakenly understood that there was a canoe for use by renters based on my mis-reading of a prior review. I had pictured us canoeing on the lake, but this was not to be. If we'd had more time, or had planned ahead, I would have rented a canoe or kayak, as the lake was *gorgeous* and I would have loved to experienced it from on the water. It appears that rental crafts are easy to come by or if you meet the neighbors (as was the case in the review I mis-read), you might be able to take advantage of a loaner :-).

This was truly an easy and enjoyable rental! My thanks to the owners for making it available!
