About Doreen Pavlik
We purchased this property in 2003 as an interim destination until, and while, we built our waterfront dream cabin in 2013 nearby. We loved every minute of our stay in this little rustic cabin. We purchased waterfront in 1994 with the dream of building on it, but until that was possible, we enjoyed this little cabin. We have developed a love for the beauty and rustic feel of the UP. This little cabin has the feel of waterfront, the smell of waterfront, the sound of waterfront, and a partial view like waterfront....but just a short walk across the street to the public access. It's our joy to offer a stay for your relaxation and break from the media saturated world around you and retreat to a slower pace, with campfires, beach walks, hiking, swimming and many fun filled day trips.

Why Doreen Pavlik chose Chippewa County
This property is a break from the fast pace media saturated world. No in house internet access, but locally available, no cable TV, limited local stations with a VHS video player, totally "old school" complete with a selection of movies. It's our hope that our guests will be so busy enjoying the outdoor beauty, day trips and playing games with family that media won't be necessary except for a nice cup of coffee at the Dancing Crane Coffee Shop to "check up" on your Facebook or emails with their free WiFi access just 3 miles down Lakeshore Dr. The smell of real firewood burning in the woodstove touches off the rustic ambiance of those cool UP evenings or a campfire with marshmellows roasting or hot dogs lightly charred!
What makes this Cabin unique
Watching freighters passing on their way through to the Soo Locks and on to the St.Lawrence Seaway. Breathtaking sunsets and beautiful "public" beach that only the locals know about right across the street, long walks on the beach and the beautiful vintage Point Iroquois Lighthouse just a short walk down the beach is a destination in itself.

The rental was advirtised accurately and very clean.
We enjoyed this location to base our exploring from. The owner left us a special note and treat to start our stay. We enjoyed the woodstove and cleanliness of the cabin. It definetly has rustic furnishings but they worked for our stay.
Very beautiful cabin
The cabin is very beautiful and clean and everything you need is available.
Not directly at the lake, but the public access to the beach is only 20m away, across the street. And you can see the lake from the living room.
Nothing to complain about on the organizational side.
This is defiantly an option for the next up trip again.
Rustic Cabin with Lake Superior View
We really enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Cabin. The wood stove took the chill out of the air, and sitting at the table we could see the freighters out on the horizon. Close to Sault St. Marie which provided us with opportunities to go to the Rotary Park and watch the freighters in the river along with the ferry to Sugar Island. We just love the UP as we find something new every time we visit.
It was amazing!
This was the perfect get-away to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! We felt right at home!
The owners were awesome hosts & the cabin had everything we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed going to the beach everyday. Our favorite was seeing the ships everyday & we found ourselves going into Sault Ste. Marie everyday to catch a glimpse of these ships from different vantage points- Soo locks, boat tour, observation tour, etc. We also enjoyed checking I out the different lighthouses in the area.
Thank-you so much for your hospitality.
cozy cabin that's centrally located
Spent labor day weekend here and enjoyed all the attractions within an hour of the cabin
The property was as advertised. It was simple, but the perfect UP get away for my family. Conveniently located to the local attractions we wanted to see. The beach access was an added benefit.
