Total escape!

  • 4 of 5

The chalet is as shown on the photos, clean and tidy. The main bedroom is awesome with view of the lake and it's own big TV and air conditioning unit as well as a balcony.

Kitchen is great as well with plenty of space to prep and cook. Nice open concept living room and dinng.

Was nice

  • 4 of 5

Property could use a propane mosquito trapper which is amazingly effective. The table umbrella outside seems in need of repair or replacement so was too hot to enjoy the outdoor eating area as a result. This particular eating area was also heavily enveloped by an ant problem as well. The lake unfortunately welcomed the leeches so swimming was a no go but that is merely unfortunate timing on our own behalf. The firepit area was also in need of a lil attention as the chairs were quite dirty and beat up. It was very quiet and pleasant aside and we did enjoy our stay. Maybe just spray with a pesticide company early in the spring and a mosquito trapper of sorts along with a lil TLC and it would be a dream. The Chalet is in need of sum TLC as well as some of the sliding door latches and such need tightening just to make you aware. We thank you for the use of your residence and it is a charming place and spot. Hope this wasn't too critical, just a few small observations made that could bring about greater user satisfactiin and less headache in the end for you the owner. Thank you again

Charming Chalet

  • 5 of 5

The home and outdoors is beautiful. (true to the photos) It sits right on the lake, however water was too cold to venture in most days. The kitchen is stocked with every cooking tool you would need to cook up a gourmet meal. The shed holds a canoe, life jackets and other water toys. The home is immaculately clean and cozy. We spent a lot of time indoors as it was a bit wet during our 6 night stay and the bugs were plentiful. But then again we are city folk so not used to many insects. A short , scenic 25 min drive gets you to the heart of Charlottetown. The best part about this rental is the owner's quick and attentive response to any questions we had. Two thumbs up!

Nice home in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home with everything you need. Our only complaint were the mosquitoes who swarmed us at door and everywhere outside. That's just part of summer in Canada. If you have kids, the beach is great with lots to do. Close to everything but also away from it all.

Everything was lovely except the weather

  • 5 of 5

The house was cute and comfy and the water seemed nice. Our only issue was it was 30 degreees when we left for pei and then It was freezing in pei the whole weekend. Would have been a perfect getaway had the weather been nice. Seemed like a nice lie to swim in and Charlottetown was only a short drive away.

Overpriced for the service provided.

Chalet had a huge house fly problem. Hundreds of dead flies littered the floors. Hundreds more were alive (now dead) throughout the place. What started as a joke of "where is the body" turned into us actually looking.

Comes complete with fire pit, but no kindling, no lighter, no matches and the provided wood was soaked, green and unchopped.

They provided a wii: the only Game (wii sports) wouldn't read. They provide 50+ VHS tapes: their vcr didnt work. Salt shaker was empty, only two rolls of tp for a 4 night stay, no oven mitts for cooking, minor things that were a minor annoyance and meant lost vacation time driving into town.

I would consider most of the issues we had being caused by the cleaning and prep persons poor attention to detail.

- We had a really nice time apart from the frustrations above.

- The property is beautiful, quiet and secluded.

- The check in and check out process was pretty ideal.

- Internet and netflix worked fine.

Overall, our low rating is based entirely on the fly infestation and this being advertised to us as an all inclusive style chalet, where some things were lacking.

I would actually recommend this place, assuming you first get in contact with them and have them resolve any of these issues that would frustrate you.

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear about your poor experience, especially with the flies. There was a gap between you and the last guest and due to the cold weather the flies likely came in through the eaves to hibernate. If you would've called I would've had someone out immediately to clean the mess and also to look at the eaves to make sure the flies were dealt with. I'll definitely look at the wii,VCR and the items missing. I check everything at the start of the year but it's possible things break or go missing by end of season. I would love if you could give us a second chance, I'll send a separate message to to discuss.
