Experience the unspoiled beauty of prince edward island in a quiet secluded country location. Immaculate executive 3 bedroom chalet overlooking o'keefes lake. Exceptional view with private waterfront.
Canoe and life jackets are available for guests. Lake has private floating dock for swimming. There is also an outdoor fire pit, gas bbq, volleyball and a large patio deck equipped with patio furniture and lawn chairs.
The living room features modern leather furniture, cozy propane fireplace, satellite tv, voip telephone, netflix, apple tv, xbox360, wii and stereo with cd player. The room faces the lake and patio doors lead to large deck with patio furniture and lawn chairs.
The kitchen and dining area are located on the first floor and come fully equipped with modern stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. All dishes and linen are supplied.
The master bedroom, located on the second floor, features queen sized bed, leather couch and satellite tv which overlooks the beautiful lake. Flooring throughout chalet is a combination of hardwood & ceramic tiles.
Chalet had a huge house fly problem. Hundreds of dead flies littered the floors. Hundreds more were alive (now dead) throughout the place. What started as a joke of "where is the body" turned into us actually looking.
Comes complete with fire pit, but no kindling, no lighter, no matches and the provided wood was soaked, green and unchopped.
They provided a wii: the only Game (wii sports) wouldn't read. They provide 50+ VHS tapes: their vcr didnt work. Salt shaker was empty, only two rolls of tp for a 4 night stay, no oven mitts for cooking, minor things that were a minor annoyance and meant lost vacation time driving into town.
I would consider most of the issues we had being caused by the cleaning and prep persons poor attention to detail.
- We had a really nice time apart from the frustrations above.
- The property is beautiful, quiet and secluded.
- The check in and check out process was pretty ideal.
- Internet and netflix worked fine.
Overall, our low rating is based entirely on the fly infestation and this being advertised to us as an all inclusive style chalet, where some things were lacking.
I would actually recommend this place, assuming you first get in contact with them and have them resolve any of these issues that would frustrate you.
We had a lot of fun. It was just outside of Charlottetown and everything was easy to get to. The cottage was clean, warm, and right by the water. The only thing we would change is we would come earlier in the year next time. The tourist attractions are mostly closed after October 30. We would definitely stay here the next time we visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the chalet. As far as rentals go, it is equipped with almost everything one would need (we even found a jolly jumper in the shed for our 6-month old!). The setting is so serene and peaceful that it allows for ultimate relaxation even as we weathered the tail end of a hurricane (with wind gusts of up to 95km/h according to the Weather Network). The owner is very friendly and he quickly resolved any issue that arose during our stay.
Only suggestion would be to provide more facecloths as there was only 2.
Pretty little place right on the water. Would be a terrific home base for families with children in the summer, as there's a small swimming beach and floating platform right outside the back door, plus lots of beach toys in the shed outside.
Spotlessly clean with many thoughtful touches for a self catering stay.
We weren't lucky with the weather, which was cool, wet and rainy for most of our stay. The access road to the property was about 600 meters of unpaved, hard packed, dirt that became a bit slick and treacherous for us to negotiate in our rental sedan.
Booked this Chalet for three days in September. If you want a clean, quiet location, this is it. Had a bit of internet problem at the start but the owner Kevin had it working fast. He was very easy to deal with and always responded quickly when we had a question. The Chalet is very spacious and it's location right on the lake was great. A great rental with a great price!

It may seem like you are driving into the middle of no where to get there, but once you turn down that dirt road and arrive at the little Chalet you will find that it is the perfect blend between the peace and quiet of the great outdoors and the modern amenities of any well furnished cottage. The location was close enough to local businesses and stores that getting anything you need was quiet easy. My dog loved the open space near the lake to sit out and watch the day go by, as well as the occasional fox who wondered a little too close an aroused his chasing spirit. The cottage itself was incredibly comfortable to stay in with every amenity you could really ask for. Aside from the annoying mosquitos that seemed to be prevalent at that time of year, it was a perfect stay.
