I was a French professor at the University of Vermont and a French public school teacher. I spent sixteen years living, working and raising three children in France before we moved to Vermont in 1997. I recently opened a foreign language school for children pre-K and up, and for adult continuing education. You will notice that the house has a bit of a European flair.
The house has a very good vibe, no doubt due to the many wonderful memories and fun times we've had here over the years with family and friends! We hope that all our guests will have such memories of their stay at Airington!
Brenda Beaudette-Kaim purchased this house in 1998
Airington is in the perfect spot for those looking for a clean, comfortable, spacious and bright house that is full of wonderful memories. It is very close to the lake, yet not on the lake, so it is appealing to families with young children. On hot summer nights, the kids will love the neighborhood pool and all can enjoy a refreshing dip to cool off, then grill and dine on the deck. Light up the chimanaya and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck. Parents will love the sidewalks for safe walks and bike-riding.
We are walking distance to two beaches, natural lands (approx. 0.6 mi), and you can catch the bike path that leads to more beaches on the way to Burlington's waterfront, or to the beautiful causeway with seasonal ferry to New York state right from our neighborhood.
Malletts Bay is only 6.4 mi. to lively downtown Burlington, and to the many diverse activities of the Lake Champlain region. Malletts Bay offers a full grocery store, Duncan Donuts, Subway, Pizzeria, pharmacy, Shops and more just 1.4 mi. in one direction. In the other direction 2.2 mi. you will find a bakery, a general store, another pizzeria, a restaurant and bar, and farther down the road, another bar and restaurant.
We had a lovely stay in Lake Champlain. The location is a short driving distance to Burlington and local hiking. We spent the evenings watching the sunset over the lake. The lake front is a about a 15-20 minute walk from the home. It is worth the short walk as the sunset was breathtaking.
When we arrived, the home was clean and in good condition. The kitchen is well stocked. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. We would come back if we head back to the area.
This was a great place to stay while visiting with family in nearby Jericho, VT. This lovely home is situated in a nice neighborhood convenient to a good selection of restaurants, interesting towns and communities as well as the awesome Shelburne Museum. The pileated woodpecker forging in the front yard was a birding bonus!
We stayed here for UVM commencement weekend, May 2015. It was exactly as pictured, comfortable, clean, and spacious. The location is quiet, within walking distance of the beach and bike path, and less than two miles from a grocery. The deck is a lovely place to sit, with a level yard for those who need some space to run. It was an easy 20 minutes to UVM campus. We comfortably slept six, and hosted a small cook-out for about 10. It could not have been any more delightful! We especially enjoyed playing the French version of Trivial Pursuit found in one of the bedrooms.
Brenda was incredibly easy to work with. We did not meet, but she was easily reached by email and phone and responded quickly to all our queries as we we were arranging the trip. Everything was in working order when we arrived and we had no need to reach her during our stay. I would rent this house again in a heartbeat.
