King Size Bed and Air Conditioning
We have stayed here several times and really enjoy the unit. The king size bed and air conditioning make it extra comfortable. He also provided coffee for the Keurig coffee maker and added shampoo, conditioner and soap for the shower. We had to make some last minute schedule changes due to a tropical storm hitting the island and he was very helpful in accommodating us. Mahalo!
Not the best
This property is in a very good location just out of town. It is just a few feet from a small, muddy beach where you wouldn't want to put anything down; but the sunsets there are lovely. This unit is a privately owned condo that is part of a hotel, but is not maintained or serviced by the hotel. It is very small: about 250 square feet, with low ceiling and an inward sloping wall. Stand-up square footage is about 200. This was just a place to stay while exploring Molokai. The air conditioner and refrigerator worked very well. There was a nice front porch with a table and chairs. There were, however, several issues. The bedroom was only marginally clean, but the bathroom was yucky with mold and gunk in the corners. The microwave did not work at all, so food warming/preparation was impossible. We called the owner several times, and left several messages about the non-functional microwave, but the owner was completely unavailable. We also contacted VacationRentals, who contacted the owner on our behalf; but no microwave was ever provided by the owner. Fortunately, after several days, one of the hotel staff took pity on us and borrowed a microwave for us from a local friend of hers. Finally, the room was insecure. Yes, the back door had a card in a lock box with a very obvious combination; but the front sliding door and screen had no latch at all. The sliding screen door was secured only by a hanging chain; but the screen was torn next to the chain so that anyone could simply reach in through the torn screen and undo the chain. This method had obviously been used in the past to enter the room. WARNING: Stay here at your own risk.
Great location for sightseeing Molokai
We really missed drinking glasses, dishware and cutlery. The microwave was not working. Besides these we enjoyed the location.
Private Rental at Hotel Molokai
Great central location on Molokai. The hotel/resort is well maintained with good amenities. Maintenance of actual unit could be a little better.
Not your average hotel room, but perfect for a stay away from home!
