Nordic Lakeview - Looks Right Out At Lake San Cristobal

Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 6 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom/1 Bathroom; Sleeps 4-6.

Enjoy this unobstructed million dollar view of beautiful Lake San Cristobal while sitting on the spacious deck or looking through the large picture window. Relax with a book on the deck while listening to the birds sing and breathing the crisp clear mountain air. When you are ready for adventure, enjoy a hike up along the Slumgullion Creek to the old Golconda Mine and enjoy a spectacular view of the lake. Enjoy fishing in the lake or nearby streams, hiking to waterfalls, or up to the top of one of the magnificent 14ers. This cabin is one of the original cabins from the Golconda Resort that has all the modern amenities of home. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom (remodeled) as well as a full kitchen and living room area. Jump onto the adjacent Alpine Loop to explore and adventure on your ATV or 4-wheeler directly from the cabin. A 10 minute drive takes you to the charm of Lake City with quaint shopping, wonderful food and drink. While autumn visits are rewarded with spectacular color, a late autumn visit can be rewarded with an occasional light snowfall. There is a fire pit outside to relax and re-live the adventures while enjoying some s?mores and sitting under a blanket of stars. Sweet dreams!

Car: necessary

Encompassing more than one thousand square miles of untamed beauty, “ah factors” are a constant in this northeastern corner of Colorado’s mystical San Juan Mountains. From climbers to fishermen and hunters, from 4-wheel enthusiasts to hikers, bikers and horseback riders, from birdwatchers to Old West history buffs – magical moments are spun into heirloom memories passed on and recreated generation after generation.

Lake City is the only town in Hinsdale County.

Hinsdale County is made up of 96% public lands. That means that we have the fewest miles of roads per person, plus the most land area located far from roads, making Hinsdale County the most remote county in the lower 48.

Hinsdale County is made up of 4 wilderness areas and 2 wilderness study areas.

We are located at the crossroads of two major scenic byways: Silver Thread Scenic Byway (Hwy 149, 2 wheel drive) and Alpine Loop Backcountry Byway (CR 30/20, 2 wheel & 4WD).

We are a designated National Historic District since 1978, boasting over 200 historic structures.

We have reconstructed over 500 feet of original boardwalks in our historic downtown.

Lake San Cristobal is the second largest natural lake in the state.

We have hundreds of miles of hiking and off-road trails.
