About Dina Raymond

My husband, children( both eleven- yes, boy and girl twins!) our poodle Laura, and I, live on our property year round and love to share the beauty of the lake and it's surroundings with our guests.

I am from NY and my husband grew up in Northampton. We met in Shelburne Falls and were married right here in our own backyard!

Dina Raymond purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Dina Raymond chose Berkshires

This property has an interesting history. Originally the property was the Goshen Town beach and then was sold to the Raymond family. This gem of a lake has been a summer attraction for many guests from around the world for 15 summers! And now it's being made available for guests year round.

What makes this cottage unique

The property abuts the 1,400 mile DAR State forest with great hiking, mountain biking and X-C ski trails. There is an abundance of activities to partake in , or enjoy the quiet beauty of the lake. Boating, ice fishing, swinging on the hammock ! You will love our little slice of paradise !

Welcoming accomodations on beautiful lake front

  • 5 of 5

The studio is homey and comfortable, and Dina and Bob made us feel very welcome. And it was wonderful waking up in the early morning and taking the short walk down to the gorgeous lake, rowing a boat out while watching the mist rise and listening to the birds. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back!

Restful and pleasant stay by the beautiful lake

  • 5 of 5

The studio apartment was the perfect space for my family's (two adults and two kids) short vacation. The studio is clean and has AC and heating, beds are comfortable, the bathroom is large, and there is a small kitchenette. The entrance to the apartment is separate from the rest of the house and it leads onto a beautiful lawn in front of the private beach at the lake. Dina and her family are very friendly and welcoming, truly concerned with the comfort of their guests. We've stayed at "Goshen Ocean" many times and we always have an amazing time! Can't wait to come back!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Goshen, including being able to host a once-in-a-child's-lifetime birthday party on the lake. Dina and Bob and their kids were very generous with their time, beach toys, and space. The distance to Northampton is surprisingly short, only 15 minutes, allowing us to commute back and forth easily when necessary. Thanks again, Raymonds!

Another Relaxing Two Weeks

  • 5 of 5

This makes five vacations I have stayed here in Goshen, as you can tell, we love it here. We had several friends and relatives visit us, with some of them sleeping overnight in the spare bedrooms.

These charming and rustic cabins remind me of my uncle's lake cabin, and remind my wife of lake cabins she stayed at as a child in Canada. The cabins are always clean, and well stocked. We made most of our meals on site this time, which was fun, especially using the gas grills.

I highly recommend this rental. Many times we are the ONLY people on the lake, its amazingly clean, peaceful, and serene. Your hosts are always welcoming and helpful in finding local resources if you need them.

Come learn how to kayak, canoe, sail or row with their array of boats!

Favorite Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay - as usual! My wife and I got married here a few years ago, and we and our out-of-town relatives have stayed here several times. For this stay we had additional family in the next cottage.

The property is gorgeous and great for kids. A long sweeping lawn across from the grey cottage leads down to a private beach, where we spend most of our time on sunny days. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the lake, so the atmosphere is always serene. Our family made use of the kayaks to explore the lake, and of course jumped on the water trampoline! One evening we had a fire in the fire pit near the shore and made s'mores.

The cottage is charming, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals - plus a grill outside. Dina was on hand and helpful and made our stay easy. We invited a lot of family over from the eastern part of the state to spend a beautiful Saturday with us there, and Dina made them feel welcome.

This is a great place to get away or to have a family vacation or event. The cottages have wifi. The city of Northampton and the towns of Ashfield and Shelburne Falls are nearby with lots of attractions and great food.

My family has made many great memories at the cottages, and we will be back again to make many more!

Here's some extra info if you're thinking of having an event here. For our wedding here we rented a tent, tables and chairs from Northampton Rental Center, catering was by the Cummington Creamery (outstanding), and PA was rented from Downtown Sounds in Northampton.
