Great location in wonderful neighborhood directly on Lake Michigan
There are few true communities in the US like Port Sheldon let alone a community with so much history and amazing views of Lake Michigan. House has a nice cottage feel to it which is a perfect fit for a house on the big lake. Communication was perfect from the time we booked all the way up to the departure instructions. Affordable price compared to other homes in the area. Would recommend to others and would stay again!
One great plus that wasn't mentioned in the Ad is the community fire pit and volleyball court on the beach right where the waves crash on the beach. Made for a great evening bonfire with family and friends.
Thank you for your comments! We are so glad you all enjoyed Bluewater and our treasured association! Looking forward to your next visit. Kim and Eric
Perfect week at the cottage
We had a wonderful week at the cottage. Our family of five had plenty of room. Everything we needed was there, Kim and Eric were so helpful. If you are looking for a quiet week at a cottage, we would definitely recommend staying at Bluewater.
Sarah, We enjoyed having your family! Thanks for staying at Bluewater! Kim and Eric
Great Place right on Lake MI!!
Great for big families in that there are separate sleeping areas. Charming private beach with fire pits, etc. Very clean and the owners are nice and hospitable. We will definitely be back!!
Great location with a beautiful view of the water and sunsets!
We rented Bluewater to stay in while in town for a nearby wedding and enjoyed the cozy cottage immensely. The deck and screened in area were great for enjoying the weather and view and a short walk down to the beach for an afternoon in the sun was great. The only surprise was that there are no interior stairs connecting first and second floors but it wasn't a problem and could be ideal for 2 families looking for a little privacy. Thanks Kim and Eric!
We enjoyed having your group as our guests! Happy nuptials!
Great weekend getaway
Four friends and myself stayed at Bluewater for an early fall weekend. Kim and Eric were very accommodating with fast responses to any questions. The cottage is part of an association with shared beach, beach volleyball court, rings for a campfire all on the beach. The sunsets were amazing, and even though we stayed when the days started getting shorter and weather cooler, we still had a great time on the beach. We chartered a salmon fishing trip out of Grand Haven, 15 minutes away. The cottage is in a great location - 15 minutes north to Grand Haven, 15 minutes south to Holland, both cutsey towns with lots to do, breweries, wineries, good restaurants, and both have weekend farmers markets ( the one in Holland is better but Grand Haven is good too). It is near u-pick blueberry farms too if in season. Expect a very comfortable cottage that is clean and well cared for. It is not a "luxury" house on the beach, but was everything we expected. One thing to note - and it wasn't a problem for us - is that upstairs and downstairs do not connect. You have to use outside stairwell in either the front or back. I could foresee it being an issue in incliment weather, especially if there is any mobility issues with any of the guests. It is also a lot of steps down to the beach, but that's how it is pretty much anywhere along the Lake Michigan coast. It is definitely a place I'd consider returning to. It is a good value for the price.
Wonderful property overlooking Lake Michigan
My friends and I have made a tradition out of spending Memorial Day weekend on Lake Michigan. This year the property we have typically used was unavailable. After searching for a new property, we found this wonderful location. Kim and Eric did a great job providing necessary information to our inquiries in a very timely manner and have a beautiful property with a wonderful private beach access.
Below are comments from some of my other guests:
