Great location with a beautiful view of the water and sunsets!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Bluewater to stay in while in town for a nearby wedding and enjoyed the cozy cottage immensely. The deck and screened in area were great for enjoying the weather and view and a short walk down to the beach for an afternoon in the sun was great. The only surprise was that there are no interior stairs connecting first and second floors but it wasn't a problem and could be ideal for 2 families looking for a little privacy. Thanks Kim and Eric!

Great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Four friends and myself stayed at Bluewater for an early fall weekend. Kim and Eric were very accommodating with fast responses to any questions. The cottage is part of an association with shared beach, beach volleyball court, rings for a campfire all on the beach. The sunsets were amazing, and even though we stayed when the days started getting shorter and weather cooler, we still had a great time on the beach. We chartered a salmon fishing trip out of Grand Haven, 15 minutes away. The cottage is in a great location - 15 minutes north to Grand Haven, 15 minutes south to Holland, both cutsey towns with lots to do, breweries, wineries, good restaurants, and both have weekend farmers markets ( the one in Holland is better but Grand Haven is good too). It is near u-pick blueberry farms too if in season. Expect a very comfortable cottage that is clean and well cared for. It is not a "luxury" house on the beach, but was everything we expected. One thing to note - and it wasn't a problem for us - is that upstairs and downstairs do not connect. You have to use outside stairwell in either the front or back. I could foresee it being an issue in incliment weather, especially if there is any mobility issues with any of the guests. It is also a lot of steps down to the beach, but that's how it is pretty much anywhere along the Lake Michigan coast. It is definitely a place I'd consider returning to. It is a good value for the price.

Wonderful property overlooking Lake Michigan

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I have made a tradition out of spending Memorial Day weekend on Lake Michigan. This year the property we have typically used was unavailable. After searching for a new property, we found this wonderful location. Kim and Eric did a great job providing necessary information to our inquiries in a very timely manner and have a beautiful property with a wonderful private beach access.

Below are comments from some of my other guests:

"Memorial Day Weekend 2016! We had so much fun! The house is lovely and the beach was perfect. An awesome weekend with friends! Thank you! Hoping to come back soon! Taylor L. and Vicki L., Indianapolis"

"Just what I needed to escape from reality for a weekend. The beach was awesome and we got lucky and had great weather almost the whole time! I definitely want to come back here. Travis W. Michigan"

"One of the best houses on the beach. Everything including the weather was awesome! Jordan B, Fort Wayne"

Overall experience was good. Beautiful view of the lake. One downside is there is no inside stairway to lower level. Would recommend.

True Cottage Living

  • 4 of 5

The only thing more charming than the cabin was the owners. Peter and Mary were so wonderful to deal with and so accomidating in all our needs and wants. We stayed along with my daughter and son in law. It was wonderful having private entrances for each of our privacy's sake. The walk to the beach was a little taxing, but I felt like I had gotten a little excercise because of the stairs and walk to the beach. The beach and view were absolutley beautiful and there are all kinds of stores and things to do withing a short drive. Thursday evenings in downtown holland are a can't miss.

Perfect for three generations under one roof!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Bluewater included three generations of family, all under one roof. It was perfect! We particularly loved the proximity to the beach and the amazing views of Lake Michigan (the house sits well-above the dunes). The cottage has two separate sleeping 'quarters' (one upstairs and one down), so naps for the youngest weren't interrupted and there was plenty of privacy for all. The gorgeous beach was the main attraction, but we also enjoyed strolls throughout the shady, wooded historic Victorian cottage association, and dining al fresco overlooking the Lake.
