A charming 1940's cottage, located in the Historic community of Sylvan Park in Nashville, TN. Here you can have the in-town convenience without the downtown expense! Just minutes to Downtown, Printer's Alley, Lower Broad, Music City Center, Music Row, West End, Green Hills, Hillsboro Village and East Nashville. What more could you ask for? We have that too! Come check us out and let us fill your vacation stay needs!
This house is technically a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath house. We have two bedrooms downstairs with 1 queen bed in each room. The living room has a queen size sofa sleeper and the attic area is the "third bedroom" which has two double beds and a half bath, ideal for kids or one adult in each bed. While the house can sleep more than is listed, it is not a "party house". For those who are looking for a place for a bride/groom/birthday/etc party, we allow smaller affairs, but NO big parties. We are located in a quiet community and our neighbors will let us know if you are not following the rules! Also, for anyone throwing the party, PLEASE do not include glitter or confetti in your festivities. It is very difficult to clean up after and continues to pop up for weeks after, causing issues with future guests thinking the house is not actually cleaned properly. IF glitter or confetti is found by the cleaning crew, you will be charged an additional fee. Also, please know our management is very actively engaged with their properties. They visit each property prior to each stay and will address any issue brought to them promptly. We find this attention to each property cuts down on the type of guest that like to complain about a property's condition in order to get some kind of credit on their stay (you know who you are). We hate that we have to make note of that, but sadly, we obviously do.
Sylvan Park is a wonderful, historic community filled with charming homes and even more interesting people. If you love the charm and quirks of older homes, you will fall in love with this little cottage! It is a very close-knit community and it shows. You don't have to leave Sylvan Park to get out and enjoy the day. We offer great walking trails, a public golf course, a coffee shop, several great restaurants, fresh produce and flowers and many other great shops to help while away the day. And if you are looking for more... we are just a short drive (car, bike, Uber, Lyft or taxi) to everywhere in the city... 5 minutes to Downtown, 10 minutes to Percy Warner Park, 10 minutes to the Airport... did I mention our convenience?! Come check us out, you won't be sorry you did!
We are literally an In-Town Retreat, close to everything and yet still a peaceful escape from it all! Sylvan Park is a relaxed little community filled with charming homes that are being lovingly renovated by homeowners who cherish the character of the community. From 1930's Bungalows to early 1900's Victorians to cottages from the 40's and 50's to even some new construction being done to fit the feel of the neighborhood, everywhere you look you are reminded of a simpler time in America's history.
Thumbs up on Property location in a Quite neighborhood. Full kitchen with washer and dryer and very spacious.
Older home with very basic upgrades.
I did my own "extra" to keep the allergies under control. Thumbs down to overall cleanliness and upkeep of a great property.
Thumbs up to owners general response.
This was my second stay and would stay again coming prepared to do my "extra" for my family's comfort.
Location was exactly what we wanted. 15 min drive to downtown, 5 min to Vanderbilt and a quiet location.
I agree...that house is definitely a decent house. Perfect for the size group me had. But it's an older home in an up and coming part of town. The neighbors house is just beautiful! :) Makes you feel safe as well. I would agree- to bring your own towels, or invest in some. Those cheapos do the job, but if you're used to better quality better bring your own.
The doors all have issues, one way or another. Some stick and others don't stay shut! :)
Essentially this is a great house- if this house had any upgrades you should definitely charge more per night.
Me and a few friends were in town for a few days. I found this house through VRBO and we are all very happy with it. The house is in a nice neighborhood and is a nice 15 minute walk through green surroundings to a lot of restaurants. Would definitely stay here if i am ever back in Nashville.
This rental was the perfect size for our party of five as we enjoyed a girls weekend in Nashville. The house is comfy but not anything fancy. It was a great location in a cute quiet neighborhood... only 5-10 minutes drive to any of the things we wanted to do! It was nice because the driveway had enough room for three cars! I would for sure stay here again! My only suggestion would be to bringing your own towels.
The house worked well for our stay and what we were in town for. We liked the area. However, there were a few things that could be improved upon:
- kitchen was missing some basic supplies such as cookie sheet, 9x13 pan, and strainer
- lots of random improvements that need to be done: screen door, squeaky floors, mold around bathroom window, sticky interior doors
- cleanliness: when we arrived there were food chunks left in the kitchen sink, coffee grounds in the coffee machine, excessive dust and others guests' stuff under main floor bed, someone else's sock under the ottoman, random confetti all over house, and dirty/hairs under the bathtub mat. Also, the backyard was pretty unkempt and needs some work. Also thought it was gross that other people's old condiments and frozen food was left in the fridge.
Sylvan Park is located just minutes from downtown and is centrally located to be convenient to everything! It is a wonderful little historic community filled with charm and character and has become a destination for travelers looking for that in-town stay without the downtown hassles of parking and high prices.
It is a small community, but it has a great deal to offer from restaurants, deli's, cafes, golfing, walking trails and of course street after street of delightful architecture to walk and be reminded of a simpler way of life!
