Sitting at the crest of Dunham's Hill is Shoreland Farm, a two story, 4 bedroom Victorian farmhouse. Tim and Martha have renovated the house with fresh summer colors, opening the interior space to create a big and inviting living room, and added a fabulous 5' x 8' island and prep station to the beautiful gourmet kitchen that has a high end 48" commercial stove. The kitchen also boasts a seating area next to a large cut granite fireplace for cool evenings, and a walk-out deck with gas grill and seating.

The Wifi-enabled home features a living room with a flat screen television and DVD player, comfortable seating, a game closet and game table. It's another option for gathering with cocktails, sending the kids off to, or retreating with your summer reading. Additionally, there is a completely renovated full bath on each floor and a new powder room on the first floor.

The second floor has another common space/game room with games, and foosball table - and a window-encircled widow's walk. The home features an upstairs master (queen), a downstairs master (queen) with private bath, an upstairs small bedroom (double), and an upstairs large bedroom (queen and two twins). There is a washer and dryer conveniently on the second floor. There is a maximum of 10 individuals nightly.

The 2.5 acre property sits on the historic Main Road just one mile from the end of Westport Point and ten minutes to Horseneck Beach. It is surrounded on the south and west sides by conservation land that backs up to the Westport River.

The property also has a beautiful two story 2 bedroom renovated cottage behind the main house where the owners occasionally stay, and is available for rent with the main house. The cottage sleeps six. Contact Tim with any interest and he will discuss the option of renting the compound.

About Tim Tolman

Tim and Martha have been coming to Westport for over thirty years and decided it was time to start their own story. Tim Tolman had a career as a very early adopter of computer graphics, digital video, 3-D animation, digital marketing, and more conventionally, political advertising and strategy. He was a part time faculty member at RISD for over twenty years, teaching digital design for print and screen, and and now is a full-time painter and cook. He may be on site working in his studio, welcomes visitors and is more than willing to give some simple cooking tips.

Martha Torrance is an organization development consultant working in the public and nonprofit sectors in MA, RI and VT and in the private sector both in the US and Europe. Her work focuses on strategic planning, leadership development and executive coaching, as well as team training and development.

Both Tim and Martha are avid lovers of outdoors and have a deep appreciation for the vibrant farming community and fascinating culture that is Westport. Our permanent home is 30 minutes away, so we are readily available to our renters.

Shoreland Farm is accessible to all that Westport has to offer. The house is big, comfortable, and newly renovated, with a great kitchen for gathering, a big living room for gathering, an outside deck for gathering - and plenty of spots to disappear. There also are plenty of outdoor spots to wander. If you like to cook, there's a 48' commercial stove and an outdoor grill. Or if you would rather just pick up food, Lee's Market has an amazing selection of delicious prepared food, an attached wine and liquor store and there are many other spots for take out or dining out.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Come enjoy a newly renovated 1880's Victorian farmhouse with a very fresh and open feel. You will enjoy the grounds and the porch, but the whole of Westport - including Horseneck Beach - will be your outside experience. The interior space of this home is truly comfortable and provides multiple gathering spots as well as places to go for quiet rest. The owners believe you will find everything you need.

Additionally their beautiful 2 bedroom barn can be rented with the farm house for several different week periods during the summer so you can have an entire compound for your gathering. If you're interested please inquire when you request your reservation.

Thanksgiving in a wonderful " home away from home"

My family traveled from upstate New York, A college in Soirh Carolina and Philadelphia to be with our son who plays hockey and couldn't come home for Thanksgiving. The property was immaculate and lovely. Plenty of room for the 6 of us to relax and hang out together. Spent Thanksgiving cooking in the well equipped kitchen complete with a roaring fire in the fireplace! Didn't even feel like I was working Horse neck Beach was beautiful even at this time of year. Tim was super helpful and attentive to our needs. My whole family loved our time there and were appreciative we could make it happen!

We booked this property for a family reunion. We traveled from Massachusetts, California, Texas, Nebraska, Florida and Bali (18 of us). We all didn't stay at the house, but It was a great place for all of us to congregate after our day trips around the area. We went to the winery for music on Friday evening, Boston, Plymouth, Newport, Cape Cod, toured the Massachusetts Battleship, and some of us visited the local beaches. We enjoyed the food at the Back Eddy, the Bayside, Partners, and, Handy Hill for ice cream. The cooks among us were very happy with the well equipped kitchen. And those of us that don't like to cook enjoyed their cooking. We shared many meals here as it was very accommodating for a large group. The property has the charm of an old farm house and the updated amenities we enjoyed.

Spacious and comfortable family vacation house

We had a lovely, week long family vacation at this property. The property was just as advertised, spacious and comfortable. It has modern comforts and conveniences (nice furniture, HD TV, BluRay player) but also preserves some of the character of the old farm house. The kitchen is so well appointed and comfortable that we ate nearly every meal in - taking advantage of the spacious deck for family meals. The drive to the beach was probably even less than 10 minutes, I don't think it is more than 2 miles away. And of course, Horseneck Beach is a real gem. Tim was a gracious and pleasant host, great with communication leading up to our stay and prompt with returning our security deposit. Our family is already talking about a return next summer - I recommend this property with great enthusiasm.

Wesport is not crowded, and easy to get to from Boston or Providence. It is surrounded by water for fantastic sailing, boating, paddling, fishing, and swimming on the beach. Additionally, there is great biking to local farms, the winery, the brewery, a high end art gallery and gift store or to the adjacent communities of Tiverton or Little Compton, RI.

The Back Eddy is five minutes from our house and was brought back to life by Chris Schlesinger - the James Beard award-winning chef. He's moved on, leaving it to his head chef Aaron. It has an amazing array of fresh seafood and produce with impeccable service. Additionally, there are many nearby conservation lands with walking trails for picnics or bird watching. Also, farmers markets every weekend and gallery tours twice a summer. If you are seeking a place to unwind, unhook, and slow down to a pace that will restore your inner self, Westport is a great place for you!
