1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4
- english, italian, dutch
We are a Dutch family, living in Piedmont, to enjoy “la bella vita Italiana”!! And the picture is complete: we have fallen in love with the wonderful nature, the delicious gastronomy, the fantastic wine, the pleasant climate and the just charming Italian way of life! We bought an old wine farm and completely renovated it. The holiday home that we rent was once the warehouse of the farm. The impressive cellar is still in its original state! We very much look forward to welcoming you as our guest so you can also enjoy this wonderful little place on earth!!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the property. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The location was convenient with beautiful surroundings. The owner Caroline was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to staying there again.
Nochmals vielen Dank!!
Ovada, a town in Piedmont, located centrally for every type of holiday:
Lovers of nature will enjoy the panorama and the fresh scent of the green environment.
Lovers of the city will enjoy themselves in Milan, Genoa and Turin.
Lovers of sport can make fascinating walking or cycling trips.
Lovers of seaside can relax at the most beautiful and stunning beaches of the Italian Riviera of Flowers.
Culinary and wine lovers will definitely return home with a car full of delicacies!!!!!.
So, whatever kind of holiday you are looking for, you will find it here!!!!
Ovada has a continental climate. Summers are hot with a lovely cool breeze, autumn can be very enjoyable and lengthen the summer season, winters are cold, and spring is particularly pleasant with the warm influence of the Mediterranean sea. When winter is cold in Ovada, Genoa and the Flower Riviera (at only 30 mins driving distance), offer a bright warm sun on its beautiful beaches.
Of course, the beautiful and award winning beaches of the Flower Riviera with a crystal clear blue sea are a fantastic refreshment in summer. But also in other seasons, the days at the beach are great! Outside the busy summer season, you can quietly enjoy lunches, aperitifs and long walks on the extensive beaches. At Christmas and New Year’s eve many Italians come to Liguria to have a welcome break from the winter season!
The holiday home is located in the southern part of Piedmont, Alto Monferrato, an area where nature is absolutely stunning! It is not for nothing that this has recently obtained a UNESCO certificate.
There is a protected nature park, the “Parco Naturale delle capanne di Marcarolo”, situated between Ovada and Genoa, where walking paths will give you breathtaking panorama’s! For the experienced walkers there is a viewing point from which you can even see Corsica! Besides, there are of course the truffles and mushrooms to look for in autumn!
During the whole year, but especially from April until October, many castles, fortresses, gardens and villas are open for public. The provinces of Alessandria, Asti and Cuneo, in collaboration with the region of Piedmont and the Ministry of Economic Development, have organized this initiative (called “Castelli aperti”). In some castles you can even have dinner and enjoy the local gastronomic delicacies!!
WINE AND GASTRONOMY
You can’t leave Piedmont without having visited a wine making castle or farmer!
Truffles: the road of Alba’s white truffle (“strada del tartufo bianco d’Alba”): this is a vast area between Asti and Alba, origin of the “Tuber Magnatum Pico”, the extraordinary white truffle famous for its excellent quality! For this reason, Province and locals collaborate strictly in order to exploit this treasure on international scale.
The area is characterized by the many restaurants of whom the chefs put all their talent and inspiration to make the most unique and tasty specialities with truffles. Local wines, castles and the beautiful landscape are a rich aqddition to this culinary delight!
Sweet delicacies, among which the local “Baci di Tagliolo” (chocolate), the ‘Amaretti di Voltaggio’ (biscuits), “Torrone” (nougat) and honey.
Cheese, especially goat and sheep cheese.
Genoa, a real South European UNESCO harbor city, where passion, liveliness and chaos bring you into a completely different world. The compact historical center with its lovely architecture is surely worth a visit! As also, the organized city walks will bring you to the little alleys, which show you the real life in the city of Genoa!
Milan, a city that needs no further explanation! In the city of fashion and design, you can just seat yourself on a park bench, and admire the Milanese people, immaculately dressed in brand fashion with all the right accessories, leaving behind a scent of sensual perfume to not pass by unnoticed!! The famous Scala (theatre and concert building), or the many bars and Grand Café’s will offer you a wonderful evening or night out, from aperitif to nightly events.
Turin, a wonderful Baroque city, with its broad avenues, many arcades, impressive buildings and coffee bars. The city is famous for its production of cars, chocolate, coffee and alcoholic drinks. Surrounded by green and mountains Turin benefits of a beautiful panorama!
Whale Watching in Genoa: a boat trip of approximately 4 hours, during which whales, dolphins and even tuna fish will swim along the boat with you!!!
Cinque Terre: 5 pedestrian colourful villages of unique beauty, directly on the cliffs of the sea, each linked to each other with a walking path that will offer you the most unforgettable and breathtaking panorama’s!!
Portofino: one of the most imposing, chique, renomated (and expensive!) harbor towns of the Italian coast! If you can afford to tie up your boat here…...
