Welcome to Casa Flor!
If you are looking to escape from what has become your everyday, then this is the place to be. The surroundings for this property are simply breathtaking. The beauty and simplicity of being here is absolutely captivating, just take a deep breath and start to de-stress.
This is a BEAUTIFUL modern home that will comfortably accommodate 9 very fortunate guests. Just like all of the other homes, this one has a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful deck overlooking nature at its best with sitting areas and hammocks.
In the two very spacious bedrooms, Bedroom-1 has a Queen sized bed and a Bunk bed that sleeps two, and Bedroom-2 has a Queen sized bed and a Bunk bed that sleeps 3. This home has 1 full sized bathroom with great hot water!
We also have a ¼ acre walking trail that leads you to the most picturesque part of the property, where you will find a delightful tire swing, an awesome and intricate tree to climb, and more outside sitting areas to take in the awe inspiring landscape while breathing the clean, crisp, enticing air! Efrain is also working on a trail down to a small creek which will add to all this excitement!
Last but surely not least, you have Efrain and Yira. This lovely husband and wife team will be the ones hosting your stay. If you decide to order any of our Authentic Puerto Rican meals, Yira will be your cook as well. We usually have the hosts deliver meals right to your door, but with Efrain and Yira it's a little different. They like to welcome you into their home (next door) and serve you at their table as if you were a part of the family; talk about culture!
This is truly an all around amazing experience that we are sure you will love!!!
From a young age, our respective moms frequently took us to this beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Although our families were from different sides of the island, we share similar stories of hanging out with crazy cousins in the rivers, adventures in the lush mountain surroundings with our brothers and going fishing at the beach with our vociferous uncles. Our fondest memories were/are sitting at the dinner table with our grandparents to hear delightful stories about how life used to be.
Several years ago I was presented with the concept of using my logistics & real estate background hand in hand by owning and/or marketing amazing homes in Puerto Rico. Since then I've been joined by my beautiful girlfriend Cathy, and my lovely niece Katryel, who both share my love and passion of the island and its delightful culture.
Adam Garcia purchased this house in 2015
At most of our properties you can order delicious authentic Puerto Rican meals cooked and delivered right to your home by our family & friends. We offer several eco-friendly adventure tours (fulfilled by local companies), or you can just relax and immerse yourself in the local culture while creating wonderful memories.
We offer the ability to travel and explore the whole island using one of these homes as a base or several during your stay. Doing this will help you better experience our culture, and the islands’ delightful people. Our hope is that you fall in love with this enchanted island as much as we have.
Once you complete your reservation, Katryel will send a PDF that you will need to print prior to your arrival. This information includes detailed directions with GPS coordinates, more information about your stay and what we call our Activity Chart with lots of extras. The Activity Chart will help you plan out several days in our area with local spots to enjoy!
Upon arrival to Paradise, Cathy and I take over (mostly through text if you need anything). We, like many of you love to travel, the outdoors, to learn about where people are from, their likes & dislikes, but mostly what made you choose Puerto Rico.
Some of these properties are ours and several are owned by individuals (many elderly) that have trusted us to share their homes with the world using our management and marketing systems. We only work with people who also want you to explore and experience some of our rich and diverse culture. Since many of these owners are elderly and all the homes are in residential areas, I encourage you not to book with us if your are not lovely, clean, honest and respectable.
We are honored you are considering us to help “host a life-time of memories”!!!

Our neighborhood is just that; A community of people coming together looking out for one another, and very open to welcoming travelers from all around the world. Many of the locals that you’ll meet in this this area don’t travel much, so it is just as exciting for them to meet you as it is for you to meet them. Everyone I know is very giving, loving, genuine and humble, which is one of the many things that makes you fall in love with our beautiful island. I grew up in these lovely mountains with these amazing people, and It’s an honor and a privilege for us to share this part of the Island with you.
You will need to rent a car as there is no public transit up in the mountains. Once you book with us, Katryel sends you a welcome letter w/ written directions, GPS coordinates and extras. The extras is a long list of many things to do in and around the area including local spots to enjoy. All of the roads are paved so any car is fine. The most you’ll find is some pot holes but you can drive through or around them slowly and be ok. We usually suggest renting for Dollar Car Rental (Verdanza Hotel Branch) or any other MAJOR car rental company. If you are on an unpaved road, you are lost! :)
Casa Flor in Utuado is paradise in the middle if the mountains of Puerto Rico. Everything about that place communicates peace and tranquility. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the perfect location for anyone looking to get away from it all. The house itself, although not huge, comfortably sleeps nine. The property has an abundance of beautiful flowers and vegetation. The service is unbeatable. The hosts are the kindest people you will ever meet. My only word of caution is to go during daylight hours, because the roads can be tricky. However, if you have no choice but to travel at night, not to worry; we had someone guiding us on the phone all the way to the house.
We found the home as pictured, clean and extremely comfortable. If you want to know what it feels like to live in a rural area on the island, this is the place to experience it at. Staying here reminded me of visiting my family home on the island back in the 70's, but with all the modern amenities. The owners created a paradise and have invited others to see it. They are very friendly and informative and even brought by freshly squeezed orange juice on the morning we were leaving. 4 wheel drive SUV is highly recommended. Pack/pick-up everything you will need before beginning the journey up the mountain.
Casa Flor is located in one of the most beautiful settings you could ever imagine. It is perched on a point in a secluded neighborhood with a breath taking view of the valley below. The grounds are lovingly kept with orange, grapefruit, banana, Starfruit and Breadfruit trees and dozens of beautiful flowering shrubs and plants. There was a basket of fresh citrus waiting for us when we arrived. The home is not fancy but modern, clean, spacious and well kept. The views from the deck are amazing. Our first night we had the neighbors prepare a typical Puerto Rican meal for us at their home. We had fish with onions and peppers, tostones, salad and a nice flan for dessert. Awesome. The roads are challenging- narrow and curvy and most of them are poorly marked so you need to give yourself time when getting anywhere. That said, Casa Flor is conveniently located to local day trips in the area. We had a one-of-a-kind Jungle Adventure that included visiting five different caves and a fun tour of a local coffee farm. Despite its remote location, there are plenty of amenities within an easy drive with great local restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores and most of all, bakeries within minutes of the home. Since you are up in the mountains, the weather is cool. There is no need for A/C. The cool breezes kept us very comfortable. Our host Adam was great to deal with, constantly checking in with us to see if we needed anything and arranging our activities. He was always warm and fun to talk to. If I could figure out a way to make it work, I would spend several months there every year. I will be back!
What a great place to stay at for people who want to enjoy some peace and tranquility. It was so easy to check-in with the father living next door. Although we went to this place because we had gotten tickets to for zip-lining, repelling, caving, hiking, etc., it was still a nice house to stay in. Directions sent by the owner to get to the house, were exact! This place is located close to many towns we wanted to visit. Be prepared to drive on some very narrow roads! My family enjoyed the total experience of staying here for 2 days. I highly recommend this location!
This is where the fun begins!!!
We encourage you to take a minute and read over our Activity Chart that will be sent to you by my lovely niece Katryel shortly after booking. This document was made to help you plan your ideal vacation, by providing you with a few days worth of things to do and places to visit in and around the area. This document also offers information on how you can order authentic Puerto Rican meals that are delivered right to your door and ways to book any one of the unforgettable Eco- Friendly tours (hosted by local adventure companies). There is also information about the places locals like to go so that you can really get a taste of our rich & diverse culture.
Both the Ponce and San Juan Airports are 1.5 hours away. Aguadilla is 1 hour away.
Under 15 minutes from the home you have a small supermarket, post office, pharmacy, two bakeries a gas station and several restaurants. There is an awesome sports pub with a great owner in Lares (the next small town over), and we even have a small computer, internet & copy center in front of the local super market!
You can stop in Utuado or Lares for larger grocery stores or a redbox DVD before heading up into the town.
Many of our homes have hammocks, a grill, and all have basic cookware for you to use. We do need to know the exact amount of people and rooms you will use during your time with us as we lock rooms that are not in use.
Since our prices are very modest, if your home has a washer and dryer we do not allow the use of these for stays under 7 days. Many of the homes have fruit trees, and you are welcome to pick the fruit, but be courteous to future guests.
