Fall in love again in the Dordogne River Valley!

You know you are in the heart of the Perigord Noir when staying at this traditional stone cottage, built centuries ago from the golden rocks found on this 20-acre property. This cottage offers the perfect romantic get-away for a couple who are interested in recreation and/or relaxation. Restaurants, markets, trails and other activities benefit from the Dordogne River. This property is rich in history and nature. We are in the heart of the Dordogne Valley, which in itself has been awarded as a L'UNESCO site.

A romantic cottage offers a bedroom UPSTAIRS STUDIO LOFT with a plush king-size bed and skylight for viewing stars above. There is one bathroom with shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area and living room. There are several patio areas around your cottage to enjoy and relax. About Conrad and Sierra Dante

Conrad and Sierra Dante enjoy two beautiful worlds. They live in Florida during the winter where the lifestyle is active and bustling. In the summertime they live and play in the Dordogne Valley. Sierra is an artist and Conrad is an electrical engineer. They enjoy picnics on the river, kayaking, bike rides, 5K runs and tapis at sunset. They look forward to welcoming you to their summer home at Chez Coeurdoré.

Why Conrad and Sierra Dante chose Perigord Noir

This property enjoys a peaceful location on a pilgrimage trail very close to the castle village of Milandes and the broad Dordogne River. Our closest village with a bakery is Castelnaud at 7k and another 10k to the famous medieval village of Sarlat. Life in the Dordogne is fantastic during the summer season of festivals and abundance of wonderful local cuisine. This area has a greedy share of the most beautiful villages of France. She is rich in history and one can stroll about the villages and fantastic castles on quiet mornings or days with bustling markets. The property itself enjoys a very peaceful location with the sounds of songbirds to greet the sunny mornings.

What makes this cottage unique

Great location to many outdoor activities, great hiking and cycling opportunities from the cottage, stay in a true Perigordian stone cottage and the RIVER! In the Dordogne, you can enjoy some of the best food in the world! From open-air markets to fine restaurants; they offer delicious local cuisine, wonderful wines and of course a bit of cheese. The Dordogne also offers loads of outdoor activities such as; shopping for treasure, biking, running, hiking, cave exploring, kayaking, swimming, floating, fishing, ballooning, golfing, zip-lining, bird watching, painting, writing and picnicking along the river. With all that, we do recommend at least one day to let the mind go sideways, just sit and watch the birds, enjoy a good book and a cup of tea.

Getaway

Very good. Once you realise there are no shopping facilities close by, and plan accordingly, it is a charming place for a couple to stay. But there are some wonderful villages within 10-15 minutes driving-notably La Roque Gageac with its terrific restaurant La Belle Etoile.

A perfect little cottage for two

  • 5 of 5

This lovely cottage was perfect for our 10 day visit to the Perigord Noir. Very well equipped with everything you could need for short or even extended stay. The huge superking bed was wonderfully comfortable and the extra space was excellent for keeping cool in the warm nights. Although the owners property is adjacent to the cottage the position of each is such that your privacy is assured. Conrad and Sierra were around if needed but otherwise very discrete. We thoroughly recommend this property.

Merci beaucoup, j'y retournerai

Excellente adresse

  • 5 of 5

A famous pilgrimage trail starts at the foot of our driveway, meandering from Bergerac to Rocamadour. Locals and visitors hike here every day, linking farms, villages and the Chateau de Milandes. This was Josephine Baker's home and is only 2km away, and one of the most romantic castles in our area. And there are several more within a few minutes, such as Fayrac, Monrecour, LaCoste and the most celebrated at Castelnaud and Beynac. The world-famous Lascaux caves are nearby, and other grottoes are nearby as well. There are major supermarkets Sarlat and St Cyprien, and a wonderful boulangerie & epicerie in our village of Castelnaud. Here is also where the Céou river meets the Dordogne, and a great place to go cycling on the voie verte. You can ride from Castelnaud to Daglan and on to Sarlat or Gourdon.
