Lovely house, very clean. Great location. We spent a fabulous week for New Years.
Perfect end to summer Montreal holiday
Our stay here was great. The house was very clean upon arrival and Maria and here family were awesome. Amazing communication throughout the whole stay. All the amenities were great including lake toys to accommodate everyone in our group. We would def return to this rental. Another point was the beautiful gardens round the property... so much color and beauty everywhere we walked. Thank you Maria!!
My family loved the place!
Thank you very much, we enjoyed everything about the house. The owners are wonderful, there was everything you can possibly need, and even more!
We loved it!
We had a wonderful stay at the chalet. Joe and Lola the owners were there to greet our family when we arrived to show us around the property. They have everything you need at the chalet to make yourself at home. We have rented quite a few houses and this one was definitely the most well stocked. Very homey. Very clean as well. The outdoor dock area was great! We loved kayaking, canoeing and paddle boating in the lake and having a campfire too. It was so quiet and peaceful. The chalet is nice and close to Mt Tremblant if you are looking for something to do away from the chalet. We had a great time doing some of the summer activities in the area. Our favs were walking around the village, the zip line trek, the luge and Scandinave spa (without the kids). Our favourite restaurant in the area was Catherine's creperie.
Happy to share our little corner of paradise with your wonderful family. Thank you.

A beautiful and very clean chalet on a quiet lake
My wife and I and our two teenage boys spent a wonderful week at Joe and Lola's chalet near Mt Tremblant. The canoe and two kayaks (and the paddleboat) were perfect for exploring the lakes (both Lac Alphonse and the connected Lac Labelle). We were on the water every day. The chalet was extremely clean and had every amenity that we might need, including a sauna. It is also very close to a fully stocked grocery store in La Minerve (about 8 minutes away). Joe and Lola were there to meet us when we arrived. They are very gracious hosts. Mt Tremblant village is about 30 minute drive away and is a nice way to spend a day. We highly recommend this chalet!
A great property
I've been to a few cottages in my life. I enjoyed this one - every cottage has good and bad.
A wood stove in the middle of the large dock. The shade comes in early on the dock so this was a great spot for an afternoon campfire on the cooler days. This worked out well for us as evening campfires did not work out with our three young children (aged 2 months to 4.75)
Plenty of wild raspberries to pick - a large collection of bushes at the top of the driveway, and a few by the boat launch.
Water fountain feature - pleasant while on the deck near the house, too noisy when on the dock. Can be turned on and off with a switch in the house.
Paddle boat and small Kayaks were great fun for the kids, probably our 2 year old's favourite part. Kayaks are a tight fit for my 220lbs 6'2 frame, certainly no room for a kid on my lap but it turns out my 4 year old was able to use one while I swam beside.
Lac Alphonse is a small lake adjacent to the larger Lac Labelle. There is boat access between the lakes under the bridge you cross to get to the cottage. Lac Alphonse itself big enough to spend an hour paddling around.
La Minerve, a 10 minute drive away without needing to go back on the highway, is a nice little town with a bakery (or two), and a Boni-Choix (small grocer). Try the croissants at the bakery across from the grocer, and pick up a couple litres of Coaticook ice cream.
Here are the reasons we won't be back - some of which might not matter or even be upsides for you.
Beaches - Small, heavily shaded (bordering on overgrown) beaches leading to a lily pad pool. While the lily pads were lovely I sure wish it had been cleared for easier access into the lake.
Water off the dock is waist deep - bordering on too shallow for me to jump in, and certainly too shallow to jump in without kicking up tons of guck off the muddy, weedy bottom.
The master suite is a loft overlooking the living area with its full height windows. It's lovely, but lacks any privacy or sound isolation. The staircase down from the loft creaks enough you actually start to worry if it's structurally sound (I decided it is), but as a result will wake up the entire house anytime you need to use it.
The two bedrooms in the walk-out basement have double beds, and will each fit one of the two available single mattresses on the floor. There's also a double pull out couch.
This isn't the best cottage for my young family but it might be the cottage for you!
Hello again Kristen,
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at our cottage.
Let me take a few moments to talk about some of the things you didn't enjoy about our property.
The Beach. Quebec law forces all water front properties to maintain a 10 meter distance to the water line of untouched natural vegetation and it is strictly prohibited to disturb the vegetation in the lake. This is to keep our lakes healthy and free of pollution.
Our beach is usually more spacious but the water levels this year have been higher than usual due to rain fall.
The water level off the dock is waist deep due to the gradual incline to the shore. As a result, we are able to have a safer fixed dock, unaffected by the water's movement and allowing for the cast iron fire pit.
Our kayaks are for a single passenger. I am surprised you didn't chose to use the canoe or the paddle boat with your young son.
The master suite is an open concept loft to allow the views to be enjoyed both from the bedroom and living area. A feature we show case in the pictures posted.
The stair case from the loft does creak. We will be looking to solve that issue soon.
The single mattress you make reference to is actually one single mattress and it's box spring.
We really appreciate you comments. Good luck to you.
