Living on the Southeastern Coast, we escaped to the mountains for the cool fresh air and clear mountain streams for fly fishing. I Finally found my perfect Fishing area after many years of searching. I hope to share my new vacation home with others who also love serene clear waters. For Fisherman, this is a hidden gem. The state Managed river and delayed harvest area are just upstream , but also wild trout and easily wadeable freestone waters are all yours just feet from your porch !
Mountain Country Cabin Rentals purchased this cabin in 2014
As an avid fly fisherman, I fell in love the first time I saw the cabin on Fires Creek. The location is so unique and perfect. Half way between Hayesville and Murphy with a small gas station/convenient store just at the end of the road for last minute items. The neighborhood is established and you feel very safe yet total private. The 2.5 acre property is easy to access, just 3 miles off the main highway in a beautiful valley. The home has a huge long porch right on the creek and you can see the creek from just about every room in the house. I love being in the kitchen and watching TV and seeing the creek !
The river is perfect for fly fishing yet small and shallow enough for non fisherman to enjoy and feel safe around the water. The home has a huge long porch right on the creek and you can see the creek from the every room in the house. The Hayesville area is an excellent base for exploring all that the mountains have to offer. The town of Hayesville is so quaint and friendly and the area has events almost every weekend. The towns of Hiawassee, Brasstown, Murphy, Blairsville, Young Harris, Helen and Franklin are all so close, you have an endless supply of activities to chose from. I am discovering something new each time I visit or look online. The Campbell Folk School is a constant source of live activity. Antiquing is endless, along with wineries, hiking, fishing, and gambling. all this is available if you ever do leave the porch with the chairs, antique farm table, swing and the view....

Fires Creek is a piece of Heaven ! We were very comfortable in your lovely home. On Monday I'm sure we will be closing our eyes and pretending we were still sitting on the porch listening to those peaceful creek sounds. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We had a perfect spring break !
A great deal or care has clearly been taken to make this cabin an especially comfortable getaway for guests. From the well-equipped kitchen, to the outside seating areas, the beautiful antiques, and the cozy warm gas fireplace, we felt very welcomed and at-home here. The view of the large, clear, fast-flowing creek was beautiful and relaxing. The unseasonably cool weather while we were there didn't take away from this being an especially good retreat from the business of everyday life.
This was the 3rd time we have stayed at this lovely home. There were 3 generations of us and the grandsons loved fishing and tubing in the stream. They caught enough trout for 2 meals. We enjoyed the lovely porch, the swing and just listening to the stream. Mother Nature turned cold and rained a couple of days but we enjoyed playing games inside. We would have loved a fire in the fireplace but the Gas had already been turned off. We fed the birds and there must have been 30+ finches.
We stayed for the weekend and enjoyed having s'mores by the creek. The cabin was super comfortable for our family. I taught my son how to play horse shoes in the back yard. The stars were AMAZING!
We were absolutely happy with our stay. The house is clean inside and out, beautifully furnished and well equipped . All four of us commented several times that this is the best place we have stayed, and we have been coming up to the mountains for years. Would love to return in the spring. Thank you, Tammy
We had a wonderful time! Enjoyed the peace and serenity of Fires Creek! Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin!
I went for a fishing trip and loved the cabin. It had every amenity and was very clean. Fishing there is great and you are only 2 miles from Nantahala National Forest with hiking, waterfalls and fishing. Will definitely go back.
