About Coyote Casitas , Sally McNeil-Blimling

Purchased the property 13 years ago as a second home. There was a separate

large garage. Recently, we have built a new garage with a large casita behind our

house. This is zoned commercial and will be a short-term rental as it is located

within Kayenta Art Village. My husband is an architect and I have been a real estate

Coyote Casitas , Sally McNeil-Blimling purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Coyote Casitas , Sally McNeil-Blimling chose Utah

broker for over 20 years in two other states. This property was so enchanting with the serene desert and red mountains, it appealed to all of our needs for a second home. The Santa Fe design of the houses was also utmost in our decision, having close ties with New Mexico in the past. Since, my son has come to live with us from

back east, it made for a perfect fit. He could manage it while we traveled occasionally . It is a lovely piece of property near national parks and in an almost

exclusive adult community. There is much to do and many cultural events.

A theatre is in the process of construction within the village and walking distance from the casita. The gourmet coffee shop offers delicious food and is also open on the weekends for evening meals. The community has many people from all over the country who have either retired in this area or have a second home. It is because the area offers so many nearby parks, sports events, cultural events and just everyday sightseeing. The mountains of red rock "kayenta" are a view that never grows tiresome and one of enlightenment on a daily basis. Come see for yourself and you will know why we chose this spot. Pictures cannot describe the beauty nor the feeling of serenity.

What makes this cottage unique

Since photos, do not do the area justice, you must SEE this location to believe. As the owner, I feel confident that you will be pleased with our casita.

Guestbook comments from the manager

She was our first guest and was even here during landscaping and other

small construction details. She does not use a computer but told me to post this;

My dog and I (Nelly, the pug) loved it so much that I seriously asked the owners to

purchase from them. Of course, their answer was NO! It was a lovely quiet,

place in Kayenta in Utah which is such a wonderful place that my mother and I

will be returning.

The casita was really great and the weather was grand. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a quiet getaway or vacation. Southern utah is a wonderful colorful place any time of the year. We look forward to returning.

Wonderful and comfy space in a beautiful setting in the heart of Kayenta.

My heart and soul were so nourished and restored staying here! The little casita was light and airy, open to the outdoors and with beautiful views of Red Cliffs. Hosts were gracious and made me feel very welcome, I loved walking into the art village for breakfast on the weekend, and touring the galleries, and walking the sculpture garden and labyrinth at twilight. Nature brought me the rabbits and quail for joyful viewing, and hearing a ring of coyotes howling provided for full southwest experience. The night skies are magnificent, the patio a great viewing spot, conveniently situated under the Milky Way! The opportunities for exploration beyond the casita are bountiful and each unique. I enjoyed kayaking and swimming at Gunlock and Quail. Reek Reservoirs. Local hiking loves included Snow Canyon and Red Cliffs, beyond that Zion, Cedar Breaks, Navajo and Mirror Lakes; the Pine Valley Mountains, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Worth seeing as well, Coral Dunes State Park and the Toadstools area at Grand Staircase Escalante; and certainly enjoyed hiking at Bryce! Within an easy two hour radius one Is exposed to a kaleidoscope of colors textures and patterns in the landscape that is southern Utah! I also enjoyed a night at Tuacahn and at the Shakespeare Festival, and touring historic downtown St George, finding all the sculptures and historic homes. A little antiquing in Hurricane and my time was done, so much yet to see and do! It was always so nice to go off for the day, and be rewarded with the views and the play of light on the Cliffs driving back into the casita, forever etched in my heart!

Beautiful, scenic and quiet

The casita was clean and quiet. The Owners were kind and helpful. My stay is one I won't soon forget. The location is ideal for the traveler looking for solitude and accommodations off the beaten path. I must say I very much appreciate the Owners and their willingness to open their Casita for stays such as this one.

A Very happy vacation location

  • 5 of 5

The casita was perfect for my husband and me in a visit to the Utah area for ten days. We opened the front and back doors for a lovely evening breeze while sipping cold water or wine. We felt special seeing the red mountains, hot desert smells, and relaxing.

We never made it to the pool. But it looked lovely at the end of many seven mile hikes. We were happy with great dinners and watching the thousands of stars on the back patio

Simply a lovely vacation beginning with the casita's comfy bed. Cool, clean cement floors. We didn't eat there but the kitchen appeared clean and stocked with kitchen stuff.

We walked to the local restaurant every morning. The staff were great. The owner grouchy.

The owners of the casita were charming and so nice to us. It was a pleasure dealing with them
