Silverwoods Chalet is one of the higher end luxury chalets on Silver Star Mountain and it is everything you would hope for in a Canadian ski chalet. It is very private, nestled in a beautiful pine forest. Silverwoods is located on The Knoll, close to the top of the new Silver Woods High Speed Quad chairlift and only a short and beautiful walk to the village. Our vacation home has one of the best ski-in/ski-out access points on the mountain - you can ski right out of the back door onto Aberdeen Skiway, a beautiful and gentle run that gives you access to two chairlifts and the rest of the mountain.
Silverwoods Chalet is beautifully decorated and sleeps up to 11 people. There are two large master bedrooms, both with en-suite (rain shower, and spa tub overlooking the Bugaboo Mountains), a bedroom that can sleep up to 3 people (one double bed and one twin), a den with a pull-out sofa bed, and a living room with a pull-out sofa bed. All mattresses are premium quality and all linens are provided.
Silverwoods Chalet has a designer kitchen with beautiful marble countertops and bar, and is fully equipped with dishware, glassware, pots & pans, baking and cooking gear, and all the utensils and tools you will need. The cupboards are stocked with spices and basic provisions for your stay. The dining room is off of the living room in a circular windowed room with stunning views of the snow-covered trees and the Monashee Mountains. Silverwoods was designed for entertaining and the dining room is perfect for intimate dinners or dinners for up to 12 guests. The family room has a 46inch LCD TV, DVD and VCR players, and cable TV. The chalet is outfitted with WIFI internet.
A private hot tub lies in a stunning gazebo in the forest - a perfect place to rejuvenate after a day of skiing or to watch the snow fall with a glass of wine or mug of hot chocolate.
Silverwoods Chalet has it's own ski room equipped with a boot warmer/dryer and storage for all of your ski gear.
The snow at Silver Star Mountain is truly the best snow in British Columbia - it is renowned for its dry, feather light champagne powder. With over 115 marked ski runs, there is something for every level of skier on the mountain and the runs are stunning! It really is a magical place and it offers the ultimate Canadian winter experience. When the lifts close there are loads of winter activities for all ages - magical sleigh rides through pristine wilderness trails, ice skating on an outdoor natural pond, hours of fun at Tube Town, dinner and fondue tours either by snowshoe, sleigh ride or snow-cat, and exploring Silver Star back country by snowmobile, to name a few of the adventures awaiting you!
Silverwoods Chalet has a no smoking and no pets policy.

Everything was as expected - excellent!! From arrival ‘til departure.
Martin was doing a great job of snow remival - especially under the exceptional snow conditions! And he was very available.
Maybe I missed it; but the only thing I would do to make guests arrival more “complete” would be; (a) strongly recommend they do a ‘complete’ shop for the chalet in Vernon before coming up the hill; (b) at the same ‘recommendation’ section, identify what guests will not be required to buy such as cleaning essentials, toilet paper, standart salt, pepper and spices, essential cleaning products, ect. This simply helps the arrival “security”.
Nothing else to add; clean, comfortable, well equipped and fairly priced.
Ski in instructions - though difficult to describe - would be helpful!
Thank you for your suggestions Tony and we are so happy you enjoyed your stay. What incredible snow conditions this year! We are sorry you missed it, but on the "Amenities" section it lists all the amenities of the chalet, including all of the things you mentioned above! We hope to see you back in the future!
Martin from downstairs was great.
Our stay was as good if not better then we expected it to be.
Another great year!
My friends and I have been coming to Silver Star for early season cross country for years. Of all the properties we have stayed this is our favorite.
We have stayed there at least 6 times. Love the house and the onsite caretakers are great if you need anything.
This house is ideal - impeccable, comfortable.
You will feel at home the minute you walk into Silverwoods - it has such a warm feeling about it.
The kitchen is very well equipped and everything in the house is well kept. I highly recommend it. I give it 5 stars!
Real "Canadian" experience at mountain chalet!
Our holiday at Silverstar couldn't have been better at this wonderful chalet. From the beginning, Katie was great at arranging the details of our arrival ...and upon entering, we knew we'd chosen wisely! It really is beautifully decorated, feels like a warm home. We planned to cook a lot and the gourmet kitchen was better than we expected, especially given my husbands high standards! Traveling with 9 family members aging from 10 to 72, we filled all the rooms and everyone felt their beds were super comfortable! We especially loved the fact that the huge dining room table fit all 9 of us perfectly ... dishes, chairs and all, so the kids didn't have to sit alone! We followed Katie's advice and snuck out between the houses at the end of the road to follow a path straight down to the quaint mountain village. I call it a mountain village because there are no roads around the shops and restaurants, just grass (I guess usually snow!), so it really felt like we were up in the mountains away from traffic! The Bugaboo Cafe was awesome, loved the chocolate croissants .... finally something in Canada to rival the Pain et Chocolat we had in France! The highlight of our holiday was hiking down to the chairlift and then riding it up to the top of the mountain. There were several hiking trails leading back down to the village through fields of autumn coloured, ripe huckleberries and with amazing views ... we weren't the only ones enjoying snacking on the berries though! We stumbled upon a young black bear sitting on the trail, chowing down!! He clearly wasn't nearly as concerned with us as we were of him and continued to eat as we backed up and went WAY around him, keeping a close eye on his movements! VERY exciting! We were all chatting so loudly I'm sure he knew we were coming from a mile away! Anyway, apparently in the fall you can sometimes see bears from the deck of the chalet! For us, the deck was for watching, and hand feeding, the Whisky Jacks at the feeder! Fabulous stay!
Beautiful Chalet with one of the best locations on the mountain
Silverwoods Chalet is a beautifully finished "executive" Chalet that is understated from the outside but wonderful inside. It is very private on a quiet cul-de sac (Odin Road) and has an outdoor hot tub in a separate gazebo-very private and "in nature". The chalet is completely equipped with all required dishes and appliances, cable TV, wi-fi. Has to be the most comfortable chalet I have stayed in -lots of places to get some quiet time and to relax. Perfect for families--I'd say 4-8 people with 4 to 6 being ideal. Watching the birds and squirrels from the patio balcony was fun--and a large black bear and cub wandered 10 feet away! I'll be back for skiing--the ski out is right from the front of the the Chalet and joins a skiway to Silverwoods area--Thanks for making this place so user friendly!
