About Lisa

My husband and I moved to Santa Rosa, in 2002, and immediately fell in love with this house. We enjoy being right in the middle of wine country, with all its nature and beauty. We began raising our kids here and chose the home because of all the nature around us, its proximity to the beach and Annadel park reserve, San Francisco and of course very easy access to all of the regions beautiful wine country.

Lisa purchased this estate in 2002

Why Lisa chose Sonoma County

In 2011, we began travelling for my husband's work, and decided to make this a second home. Later, we decided to turn this into a vacation rental. We are very customer service oriented, and flexible. We care for this home greatly, and focus on renting to responsible people. Someday, we want to move back to Santa Rosa to retire. Converting our home to a vacation rental has allowed me to somewhat fulfill my dream of someday owning a bed and breakfast!

What makes this estate unique

I love going for a run through Annadel park, then coming home, and putting on my favorite music to play on our awesome indoor/outdoor sound system.

Guestbook comments from the owner

“We had such a wonderful time during our stay for the Levi's Gran Fondo cycling event. The house is amazing and the views are incredible. 5 star accommodations and our only regret is that we could not stay longer. This place books quickly for a reason as its one of the best places available. Hope to stay here again in the future if we come back to Santa Rosa.”

Great family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this beautiful house with our 3 grown children and their spouses. We wanted to take a trip to California wine country for my husband's birthday. This was the perfect spot! 4 bedrooms (one for each couple), a great gourmet kitchen and plenty of room for gathering on the deck and in the family room...everything the listing promises and more. Our kids really loved the sound system...we had plenty of wonderful music every night. We cooked our breakfasts and dinners at the house. The deck was perfect for us all to eat together. The owner, Lisa, was a gem to work with. Her on site manager, Kimberly, was very helpful. Prior to our visit Lisa answered every one of our questions. She sent a fabulous welcome packet with plenty of suggestions and recommendations for our visit. We used her recommended limo service for our winery visits. John, the owner and driver, was incredible. His selection of wineries was great and he was a fountain of local information. More attractions nearby .... If you like the Peanuts comic strips be sure to visit the Charles M. Schulz museum, it was a fun afternoon. Our kids used the walking paths across the street that lead to the different parks. We went downtown for dinner at Ca'Bianca and had a beer before our dinner @ the Russian River brewpub. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Santa Rosa ... this is your place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home Lisa!

A Great House in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 9-day stay at Lisa's home in Santa Rosa. My wife and I (Kansas City) wanted to have an extended vacation without day-to-day distractions with our two sons (San Francisco) and their families, and especially with our 4-year old grandson and 16-month old granddaughter. We considered a lot of houses in several states and settled on the wine country in Northern California.

Lisa's house appeared to have all the things we were looking for and the reviews were stellar. As many have found who have used VRBO, the reality does not always match the expectations. I am so happy to report everything EXCEEDED expectations.

The house was furnished beautifully and comfortably throughout. The kitchen was amazing, even for my gourmet son. Whenever we needed something - utensils, big pots, condiments - it was there. The master bedroom suite rivals any 5-star hotel or resort we have stayed in, even down to the radiant-heated tile in the expansive bathroom. The electronic entertainment amenities are as good as it gets. Everywhere we looked in the family room we found toys, games, and other amusements for child and adult alike. We loved to eat on the very private deck, 4-burner grill included, and enjoyed the hot tub and other outdoor amenities.

I was a little apprehensive about staying in a (small) city but the location turned out to be perfect for us. The neighborhood is quiet and private, Safeway (my wife and I) and Whole Foods (our California kids, of course) were very convenient. Walking distance or a short drive to two adjacent parks with water sports and great areas for our grandchildren, including pony rides, petting zoo, carousel, paddle boats, and playgrounds. Played golf on a nice course in a beautiful valley setting. Sonoma wineries were as close as 10 minutes by car, 20 minutes to Healdsburg, and 30 minutes to Calistoga and the northern Napa valley. Two strong recommendations: Train Town is terrific for kids and is about 15 minutes away; Safari West, about 20 minutes by car, is literally a real African safari experience on an open 10-person 4-wheel jeep to see up close cheetahs, lemurs, zebras, cape buffalo, giraffes, rhinoceros, and many other species.

Ca' Bianca for Italian and La Rosa for Mexican were both excellent. The best fried chicken we all ever had was from Sweet T's.

But, our highest recommendation is for Lisa's house itself. Thank you, Lisa, for a most memorable and enjoyable family vacation.

Amazing home....fantastic experience

  • 5 of 5

We were in town to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Sonoma State University. I have rented many vacation homes in the past but this house is most certainly one of the very best! The gathering spaces, kitchen and dining area were perfect for our group but we found ourselves hanging out on the view deck almost all of the time! The master was superb (crazy big walk-in closet!), gorgeous bathroom, view deck. All of the bedrooms were well-appointed with soft bed linens and super comfy beds. You could tell a lot of careful thought went into what was provided by the owners - from extra camping chairs to cooking utensils and plenty of wine glasses which we made full use of! We had a catered dinner from Cafe Citti, an awesome Limo Bus Tour from Grape Escapes, and some awesome pizza from Gio's. Lisa and Kimberly were very thorough and welcoming. But the best moment came from my 90 year old Nana who said as we were packing up, "Do we really have to leave? I want to move into this lovely home. If I ever dreamed of the perfect home, this would be it!" We cannot wait to come back and I would recommend this home to everyone. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

I am not sure where to start with my review on this home, everything was just spectacular. From the well appointed to kitchen to the fluffy bath towels, to the built in stereo system, this house lacks for nothing!

When we travel to wine country to restock our wine supply, we look for homes with kitchens because our group wants to cook at home-base. So needless to say, we specifically rented this home for the kitchen. We expected an amazing kitchen, we weren't expecting to be wow'd by the entire property. This house has room for your party of 8 and also allows for privacy. We used every square inch of this home and enjoyed winding down our days with a glass of wine on the deck and taking in the view.

The house is conveniently located near a state park, many wineries and grocery stores. Our rental experience with Lisa was very pleasurable. Unlike many rental properties, Lisa's property manager is local and arrived a few minutes after we did to greet us upon check-in and walk us through the house. Additionally, the house was spotless and the property well maintained.

We were planning on searching out other wine regions on the west coast for our next restock trip but we loved this house so much, we will be back! Everyone whose inquired about our trip has heard from all members of our group "the weather was great, the wine was wonderful, but the house . . . .OMG! WE LOVE THE HOUSE!" Thank you Lisa for sharing your beautiful home with us!

If you are booking your own wine country adventure, may we suggest these wineries:

-Bella (tasting in a cave, great Zin)

-Christopher Creek (tasting pool side, family owned)

-Limerick Lane (reclaimed wood makes up this tasting room and the wine...yum)

-Stuhlmuller (small, quaint tasting area, wonderful wine)

-Stryker (soon to be Foley Sonoma, great view)

-Meeker (tasting in an old bank)

-Paradise Ridge

-Ty Caton tasting room

-Truet Hurst (take a glass and sit by the river, great grounds)

-Families tasting room (12 wineries in one tasting room)

-Stephen and Walker tasting room

Looking to cook at home? Oliver's Market nice produce and Sonoma Market for great steaks.

Breakfast out? Check out Hank's Creekside

Coffee? Avoid Starbucks and try Bella Rosa Roasters. Organic Fair Trade and a local business. This coffee is also sold at Santa Rosa Safeway.

Weekend Getaway with Family

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful house. For starters, Lisa was very responsive to any questions we had during the booking process. When we arrived, we were greeted by her local manager who gave us a walk-through and answered any additional questions we had about the house and neighborhood. About the house... the furnishings are of top quality and the kitchen is amazing. The house is very well maintained and clean which is important to us. I'm sure this is in big part Lisa's doing as she requests her guests through the rental agreement to follow reasonable guidelines. We also loved the location because of its close proximity to Howarth Park which is great for young kids (train ride, pony ride, carousel) and accessible via hiking trail across the street. Our stay was short, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy outdoor area. We will certainly would love to stay at this house again next year if it's available.
