Hang out at the dock. Crab at low tide. At low tide, enjoy the private small beach where the shallow drop-off makes it perfect for kids to play in the sand and water. Unlike the ocean beaches, our shore on the Bay is a natural living shore adjacent to the wetlands that provide breeding grounds and great diversity for fish, birds and other species that inhabit the beautiful Eastern shore. Depending on the wind and tide cycles, our low-tide shoreline varies from very small to very large sandy strips. It is great fun to wade out and watch the thousands of baby fish, net crabs in season and explore shallow bay. As the tide rises, use the included four kayaks to explore the surrounding waters or rent the sunfish sailboat (additional cost). Unlike creeks, the open bay provides long stretches of shallow water ideal for kids, kayaking, windsurfing and kite surfing. Enjoy a cooling rinse in our refreshing outdoor shower.
Bring your bikes! Both St. Michaels and Tilghman Island are wonderful destination bike rides on large dedicated bike paths on Tilghman Island road. This area is well known for it flat and scenic biking.
For those who enjoy nature, your morning sightings may easily include bald eagles flying overhead, regular visits by osprey or the resident heron peering into one of three ponds hunting for fish. Enjoy the cool breeze at the dock. Watermark is a Maryland natural habitat. Part-time caretaker/woodworking atelier in outbuilding. Please note that the property is not suitable for hunting parties. Upon request (additional charge), we can arrange for an expert naturalist or fishing guide.
We are just a few minutes from Harbortowne Resort and the Inn at Perry Cabin. If you are seeking a place for family and friends to stay, Watermark is a ideal (if not much better) alternative.

Interesting Happenings Around Watermark
The St. Michaels area is an amazing leaf peeping gem right close to the Washington, DC area. You will be stunned by the colors rivaling Vermont and surprised at the beautiful interplay with the Chesapeake Bay waters. Please come and have a look! Peak colors are in October up to mid-November.
Book it. This house is huge and has everything you need for a great getaway and we didn't even stay in the summer. We'd love to come back to take full advantage of all this house has to offer.

Game room was a hit
Property is absolutely stunning

Boardwalk to the bay is tranquil and so lovely
Great yard for playing ball
Close to St Michael's downtown for excursions and meals
Large & open, lots of stuff to do with small children as well as a constant stream of guests. We went boating, looked for horseshoe crabs, fed turtles in the pond, swam all day, etc. TV and Internet work fine for those of you who can't quite cut the cord. Would definitely go back! One thing to know about the beach: this is the Chesapeake (silty bottom, reeds, etc.). White sand and surfing can, we are told, be found further to the East on the Atlantic shore. Our kids (1.5 and 3.0) didn't mind a bit. We had lots of fun chasing critters and watching the absolutely amazing sunsets. Best sunset view you could possibly have in this area.
I am about a year late with writing this review but it is OK. Myself, along with 8 of my sorority sisters, rented this lovely house out for the weekend. It is well hidden off the main road. as you come thru the gates on the pebble paved road it opens up to a house with nothing but windows in the front. the outside is deceiving as it looks smaller than it is inside. The website really does the place no justice even though everything looked exactly like it did on the website. I was greeted by Ms Barbara, who by the way, is so very pleasant and hospitable. You almost want to invite her to stay with you. She was so very accommodating. The inside of the house is beautiful. the kitchen is open with one side of nothing but glass doors to look out the back of the house to the pool and the ocean. If I remember correctly, there were 6 bed rooms with enough space for more than one person. Most of us shared the rooms with 2 to a room. Enough bathrooms for a bunch of women...LOL. Nice great room with a flat screen TV. we recommended the owners buy more TVs and place in each room. We did however understand the rationale for one TV is for everyone to enjoy each other's company and not stay in their rooms watching TVs. Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy the pool and any other outside activities because it rained the entire weekend...and it was cold. We used our security deposit to secure our rental for 2016. If you are looking for a place with loads of space, large kitchen area, and the great outdoors (as long as it does not rain) Watermark is the place for you. We are looking forward to returning. The end of September cannot get here soon enough. Thank you to Ms Barbara and the owners of Watermark for having and maintaining such a lovely place for us to escape to.
It was a long weekend, so we packed our bikes up on Saturday rather fighting traffic on Friday evening. I guess it worked because our trip was fast and smooth. With the "Watermark" sign at the road, their driveway was easy to find. The drive way winds back through trees and multiple ponds to the log house. Given the log exterior, we were pleasantly surprised to find a modern and extremely spacious interior. The kitchen was huge and the bathroom very spacious with a jacuzzi and large shower. There were rooms and corners just right for relaxing together as well as for solo naps and reading. Though if the weather is right, the hammocks outside are the best place. When we woke up Sunday morning, we were able to see out the large window right to the bay and watch the ships go by without even getting out of bed. Cycling Sunday followed by watching the sunset into the bay from their dock were just the right level of activity for us. Had we been more ambitious in the evening, the game room would have attracted us more. A bit of kayaking on Monday before loading the car was the perfect ending to the weekend.
I loved staying here! It was such a wonderful weekend full of family and friends. The pool was perfect, the grounds were meticulously manicured, and it was probably one of the most relaxing vacations I've had in ages. Waking up to coffee in a beautiful kitchen, breakfast outside on the back porch, enjoying the kids splashing in the pool, reading and staring at the tall treetops in the hammocks, enjoying dinner out back at sunset and a fire and s'mores outside around the fire pit. Beds are supremely comfortable and the linens are beautiful and soft. Bathrooms are very well done also, and St. Michaels is just a very short hop away. Excellent all around. The kids loved the pier and splashing around the little beach too. I couldn't ask for more!
