Originally built as a medieval watchtower, villa Torre offers superb views of the olive groves and valleys near Perugia. Take in the panorama from the recently rebuilt three-bedroom home, which has room for up to eight guests, or beautiful outdoor spaces like an Olympic-sized pool and terrace. Enjoy the unspoiled countryside and secluded location as well as easy access to a golf club and restaurant, just minutes away.
Today, the villas tower stands watch over a large pool, Jacuzzi, plenty of chaise longues, an outdoor dining area and a barbecue. Climb the tower to read, stargaze or enjoy a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace. The interiors have been updated to offer Sky TV, an iPod dock and Wi-Fi access, as well as air-conditioned bedrooms.
Beamed ceilings, stone walls and rough-hewn fireplace surrounds lend rustic charm to the living spaces at Torre. In the living room, striped sofas, a painted cabinet and an upholstered ottoman create a welcoming, cozy spot, and the bright dining room, which opens to the garden, has both wicker chairs and banquette seating around a large farmhouse-style table. The kitchens open wood shelving has old-fashioned character, but its equipped with modern appliances.
Each of the villas three bedrooms, tucked into the tower, has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. On the ground floor, theres a bedroom with a king bed, and on the second floor, a bedroom with two bunk beds has plenty of room for children. On the third floor, a bedroom with a king bed opens onto the rooftop terrace.
Though the villa itself is peaceful and rural, its just a 3-minute drive from the Antognolla golf course and restaurant. Torre is located on the Murlo estate, so take the time to explore the Murlo castle and the valley of Monte Tezio, both visible from the villa. The estate lies between Umbertide and Perugia, making it easy to explore more of Umbria if youd like.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay in Villa Torre. The gorgeous hill top location had us in awe the whole time....with green rolling hills dotted with farms and stone homes and estates. The house, gardens and pool were gorgeous, and perfect for for our family. We loved the fact that in located on a private golf estate, with a fantastic restaurant at the foot of the hill. Elisa was our concierge and she was articulate, friendly, and very knowledgeable of Umbria and all there was to see. Lastly, the house came with daily housekeeping.
We stayed at Villa Torre in late October. The surroundings were beautiful and the villa was well decorated and very comfortable. The pictures from the website did not do it justice. The staff at the property were extremely helpful and the restaurant on site made it nice to enjoy a meal close by. The location is central for many day trips and we visited Florence, Pisa, Perugia, Spoleto, and Assisi. The staff from luxury resorts helped with rental car arrangements and provided wonderful local tour guides that really made the difference for my wife and I as well as our 10 and 12 year old kids.
We had a lovely time. The house was wonderful, and the views -- breathtaking!!! We didn't want to leave.
We chose Villa Torre in Umbria as we travelled with our son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons and wanted space, a pool and comfort. The Villa was beautiful and had everything we needed for the children and ourselves. The Villa is on a 2,000 acre private estate with a golf course and very few houses around us. The view to the mountains and valleys was breathtaking The house manager was extremely helpful and met us at the Golf Pro Shop to escort us to the Villa up a gravel road and after many turns on the road reached the Villa and it was an OMG moment. As the weather was hot we did our travels in the mornings to Perugia, Orvieto Todi, Assisi and Umbertide with lunch out and returned to the pool to relax in the sun in the afternoons. A car is essential as the Villa is remote but everywhere was easy to access and shopping was only 15minutes away. The food at the Golf Club Restaurant was wonderful and we had a chef cook one night. The booking process with Luxury Retreats was excellent.
