Traditional on the outside, chic and modern on the inside, Casa Lazzari is a stylish getaway on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. Renovated in 2008 to include a separate playhouse for children and situated 30 minutes from the Antognolla golf course, the six-bedroom property is ideal for both families and travelers looking to lower their handicap. Its also within day-trip distance of several towns in both Tuscany and Umbria, and close enough to local restaurants for an easy dinner.
The villas gated entrance is approached on an unpaved road through the woods, but the trees soon open to a vista of the regions rolling hills that can be enjoyed from the infinity pool or pergola-covered seating area on the terrace. Theres an outdoor barbecue and pizza oven, al-fresco dining area, and even a separate childrens playhouse. For the evenings, there are libraries of books, movies and games, a ping-pong table, a flat-screen TV, a computer and Wi-Fi access.
Casa Lazzaris interiors still have their beamed ceilings, tile floors, and fireplaces, but theyve been given a modern twist with neutral-toned rugs and sofas and graphic metal accents. In the living room, a roll-arm sofa and bergere chairs have an air of comfortable sophistication, while the dining rooms cream-colored chairs and glass-topped table are a bit more sleek and contemporary. The state-of-the-art kitchen has blond wood cabinets and stainless steel appliances laid out around a spacious island and breakfast bar.
Each of the villas six bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom. On the ground floor, theres a bedroom with a double bed, Sky TV, DVD player and iPod dock. On the second floor, youll find four bedrooms with double beds, one of which has Sky TV, a DVD player and Wi-Fi access. Also upstairs is a bedroom with a twin bed.
If youd like to try local specialties during your stay, head to the restaurant or grocery store 5 minutes away. Its an 11-minute drive to the nearest supermarket and shops, and a 30-minute drive to the village of Cortona and a golf course. The village of Preggio is 3 miles away, Umbertide is 11 miles away, and Perugia and its airport are about 34 miles away. Heading further afield, its a 90-minute drive to Siena.

The house was perfect for us. Well maintained, comfortable and well located.
When renting a villa online, I worried about what I would actually be presented with on arrival. I had no need to worry. Casa Lazzari was wonderful. Even more impressive than the listing photos captured. The pool was stunning and the view amazing. The outdoor setting areas were beautiful and comfortable. We had a week that we'll remember for the rest of our lives there.
beautiful villa, tastefully decorated, gorgeous with kiddies area, gardens well maintained, state of the art big kitchen, a little isolated in terms of the nearest large supermarkets but this meant an added feeling of seclusion which we enjoyed
The villa was absolutely beautiful. The pictures on the website as nice as they are did not do it justice. If you want a true taste of Italy I would highly recommend renting this villa. Outstanding!
We rented the house Casa Lazzari in June 2011 and stayed there for 2 weeks. It was a fantastic experience, beautifull house, splendid scenery and what a view. We spend several evenings listing to classical music and enjoying the sunset over the Umbrian hills.
We had a great service from the agency on site, the people were very helpfull and friendly, also quick to react on some small issues we encountered during our stay.
It is very isolated and we enjoyed our privacy
Just one slight comment, since the villa was closed before us the pool hadn't had the time to warm up prpperly, as a consequence the first week it was rather chilly
