Fort Bragg is just 2 hours from our home in Northern Sonoma County, far enough away to feel like we're on vacation, even for just a few nights. We've been renting places here for a long time, so we are very grateful to have one of our own, and to share it. Fort Bragg is a great mix of authentic working class folks, artists and folks who just love the ocean. The feeling of community is strong here.
We love that we can walk out from the house and see the coast and hear the ocean. Or, our walks can take us downtown for coffee at Headlands Coffee, breakfast at Eggheads or a great dinner at Mendo Bistro. Winter on the coast includes delicious crab, cute hometown parades and unique shopping opportunities.
We love this cottage.....the perfect get-a-way place in Fort Bragg. The cottage is filled with absolutely everything one would need for a week-end to a month long stay. Every convenience possible.....cable, wi-fi, towels, bath soap, shampoo, rinse, dish soap, laundry soap, kitchen spices, and the list goes on. The cottage is kept in pristine clean condition. The beds are very comfortable....We sleep better than at home. The location is within walking distance to Glass Beach/Coastal Path and Downtown.....you really do not even need a car. After a long day outside, to come home to a fire in the fireplace and a pot of soup on the stove.....priceless!
Ted and Andi's Sea Glass Bungalow is absolutely darling. We loved all of the little details and the thoughtful touches throughout. It fit our family of 5 perfectly. We stayed for a month and wanted to stay longer. The location is ideal for exploring a lot of the fun features of the Northern California coastline. Sea Kayaking, Redwoods, Deep Sea Fishing, Sand Dollar Hunting and Tide Pools, we did it all. We even got in some boogie boarding in the surf. We will definitely stay there again if we make it back to Northern California. Thank you for the great stay! Being able to walk to the beach and bike and hike the headlands was great fun.
We (my mom (senior) and my two kids (age 10 & 11)) had the best time. The home was immaculate and had a gorgeous kitchen to cook in. It's perfect for a family of 4. Very close to Glass Beach which we visited daily. Found the home centrally located to many of the places we visited. If I have to have a negative it was the no screens on the windows which made it not easy for us to have the windows open. (bugs would fly in) But that is truly the only thing I have to say. Owners easy to work with, very accommodating, easy to get a hold of if I had questions. LOVED IT!!!!
We had an enjoyable stay. The beds were comfortable, everything we needed was provided. Great two bedroom house in convenient yet quiet end of town. Egghead restaurant for breakfast one morning was enchanting, great service and food.
This is our 8th stay at the cottage. Always a delight! Bright and cozy... a wonderful get-a-way place year around. I use to think it was our 'best kept secret' ...but now it books up so fast..I am already thinking of next year. Ted and Andie really do care that their guests have everything needed for a nice comfortable stay. I could not get a window closed and within an hour, the neighbor was at the front door to help. Amazing! We always bring our own food because the kitchen has everything possible one would need.... including spices. Yes...we did hit the jackpot when we found this sweet cottage!
We had a great time at the Ft. Bragg bungalow. Everything was neat and clean and made us feel right at home. Glass Beach was only a block or so away and a nice place to walk along the water.
10 minute drive to quaint Mendocino, walking distance to Glass Beach for sea glass collectors, walking/biking path nearby which continues 10 miles north to McKerricker State Park, municipal C.V. Starr Aquatic Center with lap pools, kids' area, lazy river and gym equipment, many activities such as Crab and Wine Festival, Mushroom Festival, Paul Bunyan Days, Skunk Train excursions. Fisherman's paradise, abalone diver's delight. Horseback riding on the beach near McKerricker Park. Don't miss the beautiful Mendocino Botanical Gardens, at the south end of Fort Bragg, a treasure on the coast. Take a ride on the Skunk Train
