I hesitate to write this because I'd like to keep the secret to myself. Stunning little villa in an ideal location (far enough away from tourist-central to be tranquil, but ideally located for sightseeing all over the island). The villa looks out over a gorgeous stretch of beach and the fabulous staff are always at hand to help. Lovely villa with comfortable beds, a fabulous terrace and a charming housekeeper named Jillian - she is also a fantastic cook. Don't rely on the pictures - it's actually even nicer than it appears - the kitchen and bathrooms were recently redone. Just book it, you won't be disappointed. Kudos to Luxury Retreats as well - the service was impeccable. This has become our official HQ whenever we are in Barbados.
Don't even think about it ... just book it. A beautiful spot - steps away from the beach with a 180 degree view of the ocean. Private, elegant and so well laid out! It's on the main road, but so cleverly designed that all the living spaces are on the ocean side - the only time you notice a bit of traffic noise is in the kitchen. This is a perfect location on the island - we have been to Barbados many times but this is our new headquarters. Just north of Holetown so you're not in the middle of tourist central, but ideally located for hopping in your car and touring the island. We were also spoiled rotten by Jillian, the excellent housekeeper/cook. The Bajan fish she made us was better than some of the best restaurants on the island. The staff at the property are gems and very friendly and helpful. The pictures don't lie - in fact they don't quite do it justice! The kitchen and bathrooms have been redone since the photos were taken and are even nicer than the pictures ... with beautiful high end appliances and cooking gear in the kitchen. If you like to cook like I do, it's a dream, but spoil yourself and let Jillian look after you!
We thoroughly enjoyed both the accommodations and the staff. Jillian was a great cook, better than any restaurant we visited. She was smiling, helpful and efficient. The villa was nicely appointed and beautiful views. Since we went in the slow season we only saw one other visitor at the end of our stay so we had the place to ourselves.
It was my first time in Barbados. I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and it was amazing. Our personal staff prepared birthday cake from scratch along with Mahi Mahi, whipped potatoes and vegetable stir fry for a special candlelit dinner which was super. The Catamaran adventure was laid back and chill (and full of rum runners!).
Fantastic location within a few yards of the beach. Easy reach of shopping and Holetown in particular. The beach was quiet, safe and the water clear and beautiful for snorkeling. A short walk to beautiful Gibbes bay too. We felt the transfer arrangements too expensive (a stretch limo was definitely not needed - a bit embarrassing to be in to be honest - and made us all car sick on the journey). We discovered that we could do a better deal on car rental when there too.
