Storybook Wedding

  • 5 of 5

The weekend of August 18 thru August 21 could not have been more perfect for the wedding of our daughter Sarah and son in law Mike. The weather was perfect with balmy evenings and a full moonlit night in Vermont Wedding. Mary Jane, Jon and all of their staff did a wonderful job. The mansion was beautiful, the grounds gorgeous and the barn was beautifully decorated.

The inside of the mansion had been recently completely redecorated and was gorgeous including dining room, sitting room, bedrooms and bathrooms. The Rathskellar reminds you of a quaint Irish Pub. From Thursday night thru Sunday morning Mary Jane told us that the house and pub was ours and to do what we pleased and we did. This gave us a very welcoming and relaxing feeling.

Having spent some time managing a restaurant on the New York State Thruway many years ago I was very impressed with the size and design of Mary Jane's Kitchen. The food was all freshly prepared, of high quality and delicious for both the rehearsal dinner which was held on the patio and the wedding reception that was held in the barn. The presentation of both meals was exquisite. Everyone's favorite dish was Mary Jane's Lobster Mac and Cheese. On Sunday morning we had a continental breakfast on the patio before everyone departed.

On Saturday night Jon started a large bonfire for everyone to end the evening. I went to bed about midnight but the younger generation was still enjoying themselves in the pub, on the patio and in the hot tub until the wee hours of the morning. On the way home my wife and I stopped at the Vermont Country Store.

All in all a perfect storybook Wedding in Vermont. A very special thank you to Mary Jane, Jon and all of their staff.

Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated a delighful and memorable wedding for our daughter and now son-in-law this past Aug. 2016 at Glimmerstone. It was magical! Mary Jane and John and their staff did all that they could to make the event as individually special as possible. The grounds were well manicured (we are local to the area so we pass the property often and it always looks good), the inside of the Inn was spectacular, and the barn was beautifully prepared for a rustic reception. I would highly recommend the facility for any celebration.

Amazing Venue!

  • 5 of 5

The Glimmerstone Mansion is simply beautiful and amazing. We had our wedding there is September 2016 and it was incredible. The mansion is more beautiful than the pictures can show! We had our ceremony on site in the gardens and the reception in the beautiful barn. We had our family stay with us in the mansion and all our guests couldn't believe how incredibly gorgeous the place is! Mary Jane, John and the rest of the staff are amazing and they handled the incredible food for our cocktail hour and reception. Best wedding food by far! The guests could not stop complementing how delicious everything was. If you are looking for an incredible and different wedding experience I would highly recommend. Or even if you are looking for a gorgeous place away from the hussle and bussle this place hits the spot. It's a true gem!

The Great Gatsby meets the classic countryside of Vermont!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding weekend! When people arrived into town early, the location allowed for family and friends to be entertained with the sunbathing and cooling off at the local swimming holes, the adventurous activities at Okemo mountain, and the cute restaurants and shops located within the nearby small towns.

We had the dinner rehearsal at the Mansion as well which allowed for a comfortable and casual way for the families to mingle together. There were so many different rooms and spaces on the property (the patio, fire pit, lawn with a fountain, downstairs pub, deck, and the living room/dining room) to choose from for every person to find a spot fitting for their socializing need. The fun and comfortable dinner rehearsal made for an easy transition into the wedding day.

It was a little hot on our wedding day but all of the shade the trees provided in the garden helped everyone stay comfortable enough to enjoy the important parts of the ceremony. The large patio and yard space for lawn games was a great way to get the whole party started during cocktail hour while the bride and groom snuck off to take pictures throughout the many picturesque options the property had to offer. The barn, where the reception was held, was the highlight of the whole weekend. The antique bar, the unique set up of the farm tables, all the space available for dancing, and the lighting with the chandeliers and other fixtures making the barn light up at night made you feel like a true king and queen celebrating in the olden days. The bonfire in the middle of the field with the moonlight shining over the hill was the icing on the cake reminding everyone that they were in the center of the beautiful green mountain state that is Vermont.

It was a wedding that our whole family and friends will not stop talking about and they keep asking if we can do family reunions and other events there so that they all can immerse themselves in the Glimmerstone Mansion experience again. The best part is how the owners made you feel right at home with their welcoming smiles and energy. A huge part of our wedding going so smoothly was how the staff was extremely helpful and professional in getting every little detail taken care of. The Glimmerstone Mansion Inn was a dream come true and we seriously can't wait for our next visit!

Everything Mary Jane and John have here is perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We met Mary Jane and toured this property and immediately knew this is where we wanted to have our wedding. The attention to detail throughout the house and grounds is beautiful. Our family and friends were so happy to stay in such beautiful rooms and loved the ease of relaxing throughout such a great property. It would be impossible to fully explain Mary Jane and all of the hours and care she put into making sure our stay and wedding was everything we wanted! She is so knowledgeable about things to do and see in the area and was always offering new ideas over several of our visits. For a house rental or a wedding venue Glimmerstone is perfect!

Magical Wedding Weekend at Glimmerstone

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing and lucky find for a wedding venue! Mary Jane is an amazing chef who can also cater your event if you wish. We were really happy we chose that option because the food was amazing and all our guests rightfully raved about it! Overall the mansion is a very special and beautiful place to stay, we stayed here with our family for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The gardens were perfect and beautiful for our outdoor ceremony and the barn was magical for the reception. I can't recommend Glimmerstone enough! There are plenty of hotels and airbnbs around for guests to stay and Mary Jane can help arrange for shuttles, drivers and other staff needed for your event. We had an incredible weekend and wedding we will never forget here!
