Wild Horse Station Is A Guest House On Our 73 Acre Family Horse Ranch In SW WA
Chuck and Annette Cowan are avid equestrians and established Mustang Mountain Ranch as their home and a recreation horse ranch in 1996. This beautiful log home named "Wild Horse Station" is the latest addition and is their premier ranch guest facility. Chuck and Annette enjoy riding ranch trails with family and guest. Chuck and daughter Theresa also compete in long distance horse racing known as Endurance and Competitive Mounted Orienteering. They have 28 beautiful horses on 73 acres with a gorgeous home and stables. Chuck and Annette were high school sweethearts and have been married 53 years. They own a successful Engineering and Construction Management business and their family consist of four children, two boys and two girls, five grandsons all of whom worked at the ranch growing up, and a great grandson born in April 2014. They cherish sharing the rural lifestyle with family and friends.
Theresa purchased this Cabin in 2015

Private and gorgeous
We had a great stay. The home is very spacious and accommodated our family of 4 adults and 3 children perfect.
Loved the trails and sitting on the front and back patio. Very comfortable and private.

Dream Log Home
We just returned from a 3 days mini vacation in this beautiful log home. 8 of us stayed here. Note, some of us had to sleep in loft area, so you have to be able to climb a ladder. The house is amazing. Like a dream come true. It has all amenities and Theresa was the most wonderful host. We climbed Mt St Helens one day and were so happy to come back at night at this cozy house that felt like home. We had all these plans the next day, but did nothing but sit on the porch in the rocking chairs and soaked up the sun. Thank you Theresa for sharing this house and for being such a great hostess and communicator!
Thank you for your kind review!
The joy of hearing laughter echoing down the mountain and through the valley over to the main ranch was music to our ears!
Thank you again for choosing Mustang Mountain Ranch - Wild Horse Station AND we enjoyed sharing our little piece of Heaven with all of you!
Beautiful and extremely comfortable in spite of the record-breaking heat wave!
Well appointed kitchen, highly efficient air conditioning! The gardens and pond are gorgeous. Swimming close by in the river. Absolutely everything provided--including beach towels! Stunning mountain view from the deck kept my 93yr old father happy. A peaceful, joyous time was had by all!
Best Vacation Rental We've Stayed In
I am not one for hyperbole but this vacation rental is the nicest we have rented by many degrees. The house is beautifully built and appointed. We rented for a weekend of hiking and climbing in the Mount Saint Helen's area and the house was so nice everyone seriously considered just staying at the house and forgetting our other plans. Great place to return to after a long day of hiking. We only wish we had stayed longer. We definitely plan on returning and highly recommend to anyone. You will not be disappointed.
Dear Kevin & Aubrae,
Thank you so much for your kind review.

Great cabin in a nice location
We had a great stay here - Theresa was an excellent host who made sure we were settled in nicely! The house is spacious with plenty of beds for our group, a nice hot tub, and all the kitchen things you could need. We enjoyed a new year's day hike at nearby Moulton Falls. I'd recommend it here!
Perfect Family Getaway
We had a wonderful time during labor day weekend! Theresa is quite the gem! Very friendly, caring, and attentive. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay would be perfect and so it was.
Mustang Mountain Ranch offers a high quality experience to our guests in our beautiful, private and secluded mountain environment. We have around 20 miles of hiking / horse trails (most hikers don't want to leave after arriving)
You are definitely welcome to bring your own horse as we have all the amenities available at the lodge, however there is a 2 minimum stay at the lodge (not included in the fee of the house - and you can also board up to 12 horses in the arena)!
In Yacolt, its a very small community and you can view a list of activities at www.townofyacolt.com
