About Nancy Rausch

Thank you so much for viewing my home. My name is Nancy, I am a native of California and have been visiting Big Bear Mountain since I learned how to drive. When my boys were 12 and 13 they decided that it was time to learn how to snow board so we ventured to Bear Mountain and tackled this new challenge. Few years later my husband and I made the decision to buy the home. My boys have grown with families of their and no longer have time to visit Big Bear. Hence, the house is being offer to other families an enjoyed just as much.

Nancy Rausch purchased this house in 2004

Why Nancy Rausch chose Big Bear Lake

We chose this home due to its gorgeous view to the ski slopes and golf course and its convenient location to the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit Ski resorts

What makes this house unique

Guests will receive a gift basket and choice of red, white or sparkling cider with each stay

Gorgeous big house! Inspiring views! Awesome owner!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, we loved working with Nancy, if you're reading this expecting a sterile or mechanical interaction with an owner, stop, take a deep breath, and let that go. Nancy was sincere, honest, down to earth and thoughtful, she was super busy with her life and it was bad timing because she had some things being taken care of at the house, but she made our weekend happen anyway, she's under-selling this place, and we were surprised at just how picturesque the home is.

The common area was very spacious for our large group to gather, share meals, play games, etc. and despite the size we still enjoyed that cozy, modern, rustic cabin vibe that is so appealing about this type of rental.

The kitchen had everything we needed, was big enough, and laid out well enough for 4-5 people prepping and cooking.

The game room was beautiful and separated enough from the rest of the house that the adults could laugh and joke loudly while the little ones were asleep at night.

One of the best parts of this house was the layout, the rooms are all separated by hallways and other areas of the house, each with it's own bathroom, it gave each of our families as much privacy and peaceful retreat as you could want while staying together in a cabin.

All together with the wrap around deck, including the octagon shaped room, hot tub area, bbq area, and porch area, that's 4 outdoor gathering locations, then the dining room, living area, and game room that's 3 more spaces, we had 7 seperate choices available to spend time together as a family, and they were all so enjoyable that we made use of them during our stay.

The front deck had a largely unobstructed mountain view because of the golf course, and I'm sure as gorgeous as it was in Summer, it must be even more amazing in Winter.

I can't say enough good things about this place and the owner, we will definitely want to come back.

Just a note to those concerned about the negative remarks. The owner talked to us about some concerns ahead of time, and was in the process of taking care of some of the issues with a new management company, despite the warning and the disclosures from Nancy we booked and I'm so glad we did, because there wasn't anything that would equate to a real issue with the house, and the few things that were minor were being taken care of. If you aren't aware already, cabins are impossible to keep dust and cobweb free for more than a couple days, and this place was the cleanest we've been in.

So disappointed!

  • 1 of 5

I am so disappointed that we chose this cabin for our annual trip to the mountains! I should have realized that things were going to be less than stellar when the owner suggested 2 days before our arrival that we bring our own "beach towels" if we were going to use the Jacuzzi! Who doesn't provide towels??? Upon arrival to the cabin it was filthy! And not just by my standards! Even my kids noticed! Cobwebs, dust & dirty floors everywhere! We did call the residential company to report this right away as well as all the burned out light bulbs in the "pool table" room which is actually a converted garage! Only 1 out of 8 bulbs worked. They came right away to repair them but left all the other burned out ones all over the house. Now for the MB. Is it too much to ask for sheets without holes in them. Or maybe a comforter that had been washed? Who lives like this? Not a happy camper

Owner's Response: Dear Stephanie I am deeply trouble and want to apologize for your experience during your stay in my home. I have discuss this issue with my management company to find out what when wrong. Village Reservations takes pride in making sure that every home they manage is well taken care off. They recognize that in order to stay viable in business they must provide excellent customer service and customer satisfaction. with this said, according to my representative, she has assured me that sheets and towels are of excellent quality, so they are not sure why you had sheet that were below standard. Furthermore, although we make every attempt to ensure that we eliminate all cobwebs, it is impossible to prevent them from reappearing. As far as my recommendation to bring beach towels, it was simply a suggestion since the regular bath towels are not big enough to provide adequate coverage when coming out of the Jacuzzi in this cold weather. My standards are high and it is very important to me that my guests are provided with a clean and comfortable environment while vacation at my home. What went wrong, I am still trying to figure out. Sincerely, Nancy Rausch Home Owner

A wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

I wandet to thank you Nancy for opening your awesome and spacious home to my family. We had a blast in your home and are for sure coming back. We have rented properties in the past 7 years in Big Bear but by far the best property we have stayed in. Every room has their own bathroom which is a plus. Spacious kitchen and large living room. Game room has pool table and enough space for more..The property was well-maintained and clean. This property is highly recommended!

Great home for families!

  • 5 of 5

We decided to spend a couple of days in big bear right before Christmas and saw this place was available. We had 3 families and 2 singles and we really enjoyed our stay. They even have a gate for the stairs! Very comfortable and inviting; perfect for an intimate family getaway. Would definitely stay here again.

Oh my Goodness...I can't say enough about this Wonderful Home!! After searching and searching for the perfect place to have my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday party, I found this Beautiful Home. It was perfect! It is so spacious and feels like a Home....not a rental property!! We had 10 girls!! 4 bedrooms, all with their own bathroom, everyone had their own space and plenty of showers for 10 teenage girls to get ready!! The game room was awesome, and I loved that 2 rooms and game room were downstairs which is where the girls spent most of their time. The Master was perfectly located where the girls could stay up all night giggling/playing and we weren't disturbed at all. I LOVED the kitchen!!! I prepared breakfast daily and an AMAZING birthday dinner and it was Wonderful!! Nancy, the owner, was so nice and so helpful and readily available for any questions that I had! We had a Fabulous experience and I hope to have another opportunity to enjoy this Beautiful Home again!

No snow, but we had a great time!

  • 5 of 5

This house was great! It's wonderful for every room to have it's own bathroom & the place was so spacious - lots of room to spread out. It was very close to both Bear Mtn & Snow Summit & Nancy was very helpful in answering all the questions we had. The only surprise we had was that the master has a big jacuzzi tub - no shower - but there are 3 others so we worked it out! We had an amazing brunch at Stillwells & a fantastic dinner at the Himalayan (not a place I would have thought of, but it's rated #1). All in all, great place & time!
