Why Bob Millstone chose Baja California Sur

Playa Cerritos is the safest swimming beach on the West Cape and has a good learning and intermediate break for surfing. A more robust break is also nearby for experienced surfers.

What makes this house unique

There are very few beachfront rentals available on the entire West Cape...Casa Cerritos is one of the BEST!

Sand & Surf - 180 Degree View

  • 5 of 5

WOW...what a great find this bungalow was for our long weekend getaway! Seeing the ocean the moment we woke up, and enjoying the view all day long from the patio was incredible. The bungalow had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. It's located amongst a row of units that rent for much more, yet offers the same experience ... the most amazing 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. Cerritos beach is one of very few areas where you can swim, it has a fun beach restaurant, surf board rentals, etc. Tricky to find at night, but if you follow the owners directions exactly, you'll have no trouble. Speaking of the owner, coordinating the rental with Bob was a snap, and the local contact, Frank, was SUPER easy to reach and took good care of us. If I could go back to Casa Cerritos this weekend, I would in a heartbeat.

great beach house

  • 4 of 5

Really great house right on the beach. Challenging to find for the first time in the dark, but can be done! The last road into the property looks like a dirt path on a farm with horses on it. House alarm system is a little touchy, i managed to set it off each morning at sunrise and the neighbors weren't too happy. Loved the spot and the house, can't wait to go back! A perfect spot for a group of friends or a self reliant family.

GReat value for the location!!

First off, I have been to Mexico more than 30 times. Ive been to Cerritos 5 times. THis condo is privately owned in the middle of a group that are owned by one organization. If you are looking to specifically stay in the Cerritos Surf Colony, this isnt it. That being said, if you want the exact same experience for less $$, stay here! Same exact beach, same view, basically the same access from the highway (manager will provide a detailed map that is super easy to follow!) House is clean and stocked with most things you would need to cook basic meals for a week. There were four adults (two couples). We were always comfortable and relaxed. There is a family that lives on the property that might catch you a little off guard, but you wont even know they are there (other than your stuff will always be guarded) unless you want to rent a surfboard from them since their rates are cheaper than those on the beach. the pool that is part of the property is very basic. It is what it is.... there is also an outside shower to rinse sand and salt off. plenty of towels come with the unit. the linens are clean and nice. plenty of hot water! fans in all the rooms. never got warm enough for AC, so i dont know about that. AWESOME sunsets! two restaurants a short walk away. plenty more in Pescadero, and even more in Todos Santos (10 minutes away). Also, there is a TON of shopping for arts/souviners in Todos Santos.

All we needed.

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time, 2 adults and our 7 year old son, who enjoyed the waves just steps away from the door ( you can get in the water in less than a minute from the house (quicker if you run)).

We spent a lot of time lounging, looking at the great view from the couch or bed or the kitchen. The Ocean sound was soporific and the beach was quiet. We had everything we needed, rented a car (necessary) and stopped off at a supermarket on the way and then didn't leave the house/beach for 5 days. The water was warm in early december. Good times - am really considering returning next year.

Absolutely the best deal out there!!!

  • 5 of 5

If you like waking up to the sound of crashing waves ever morning then this is the place for you. At first glance the villa looks small but we easily slept 7 surfers for four nights. The pool, fire pit and beachfront porch are great compliments to the location. Did i mention the location? Cerritos beach is one of the coolest playas you'll ever visit. The water was 80 degrees, the air 80 degrees and the beer 34 degrees. And this was in December. I'll definitely be back.

Great location and amenities

  • 4 of 5

My son and I were looking for accommodation close to Cerritos Beach at an affordable price. We were blown away by this great home, which is right on the beach. It was much larger than we needed and we loved the space - 2 bedrooms and bathrooms were terrific. There is also a large fully furnished loft that we didn't even spend time in. It was great lazing on the beach right outside our door and having the ability to come back to the property to make our own lunch. We also took advantage of the dipping pool. It was awesome - a nice way to cool off. The pool was actually bigger and deeper than we expected, nearly over my head. Two things to be aware of - no air conditioning, which I didn't think would be a big deal, but it was pretty hot to sleep. I think no a/c is due to the lack of electrical service at the beach - the house had solar panels and a generator. The resort next door to us also didn't have a/c so I assume everyone has the same issue. Also, the wall was back up and while we were aware of this, I felt a bit claustrophobic sitting on the patio enclosed by it. Sounds like this issue will be resolved soon.

Great compliments to Frank, the caretaker, he was fantastic and took care of all our needs. We would definitely stay at Casas Cerritos again.

For those unfamiliar with Cerritos Beach, it is a hidden gem to take your teenagers if they like to surf. There are surfboards to rent at the beach and lessons are available. My son got the hang of it after a day and spent hours in the water while we were there. Also, I highly recommend the snorkelling with seals tour out of La Paz. We decided to do this last minute and found it to be the highlight of our trip. La Paz is about an hour away.
