This location is excellent with easy access to multiple routes of the Green T line within a couple blocks or less. The parking space is very handy if you have a car. The value was very good based on my shopping. Boston is not cheap. The host and his local manager were responsive to my requests. From a logistical and value perspective, everything was very good. As for the apartment, I would rate it very basic. Furniture is very basic. Much of the furnishings are very dated. Cable TV is basic. Internet WiFi is nice. The kitchen is basic, but adequately supplied. Some sugar would have been nice. The cleaning person could sponge down the walls and windows in a few places. All that said, this worked out very well for my family. We were able to spread out and prepare meals rather than be stuck in a cramped hotel room, forced to eat out for every meal, and it was very convenient for getting to downtown Boston. I would not hesitate to stay here again, but do not expect the Ritz.
Excellent experience, apartment was spacious, very clean and well-supplied. Host was amenable and communicative. Walking distance to BC and some very cool eating areas in Newton. Building and neighborhood is "lively," as you'd expect from a centrally-located residence. Would gladly stay there again.
We had a great stay in mid-October. Frank, the property manager, was very helpful. Location and price were perfect. My wife and I stayed with our son and everyone was happy. Update to earlier reviews--there is a ten cup coffee brewer (and we left a bag of ground coffee for the next occupants). No surprises-- the apartment is as described. Would stay again.
The appartment was clean and tidy. Comfortable sofas and bed, and fine closet space. Ideal public transportation nearby.
We had a stressful experience with the host(s) as they did not answer our mails and mobile calls upon our arrival.
Written information about parking and laundry room etc. would have been useful.
Like previous reviewers, I would not rate this as a "luxury" apartment nor building, but it IS a nice serviceable apartment in what appears to be a safe, residential neighborhood at a price that was much better than the nearest hotels. Public transportation was close by; commercial areas somewhat further.
Building -- elevator about to undergo repairs. Has card operated laundry room. Only limited adjustment of central heating/cooling in the apt
Kitchen - full appliance set w/dishwasher and several small appliances inc coffeemaker, but broken toaster. Plenty of plates and glasses, but not enough cookware to prepare a meal, except perhaps spaghetti
Living/dining room -- very comfy sofas, big TV w/ Xfinity pkg, small but adequate dining set
Bedroom -- comfy queen bed, plenty of closet space w/spare linens, but no bureau w/drawers
Bathroom -- lots of hot water, slow toilet, pipes a bit noisy
Generally -- Good internet throughout. Everything was clean and in order upon our arrival. We bought needed extra toilet paper and light bulbs to replace two burn-outs rather than try to get these supplied by the host.
Unlike previous reviewers, my experience with the management, though it all worked out, was a bit stressful. The owner and the host appear to be different persons, at least one of whom lists a UAE phone number for questions. An email I sent asking about arrival elicited just a repeat of the info for the on-site contact person. That person, though supposedly on-site, did not respond to an advance email nor did he appear in person to check me in or out, leaving the former to a maintenance man and handling all else by phone (a total of six calls including his twice abbreviating our conversations and asking to call me back). There was no written information about anything in the apartment except for an obscure note giving the Internet log-in. While a private rental is always going to feel less secure and require more effort than a hotel booking, good communication and attention from the host could alleviate that.
This place is really awesome. The location is spot on, easy access to all pubic transportation. Pretty much anything you might need is within easy walking distance. The apartment is very well furnished with everything you need during your stay and extremly clean.
We felt extremely comfortable walking the the area at any time of the day or night. There are college kids living in the area as well retirees. Never had a problem with noise in the building or outside, (The kids were all cool actually).
Also want to give a shot out to Frank, the propery manager. We did not arrive until 2AM due to flight delays but he went over and above to make sure there were no issues for us. Thank you Frank, I owe you lunch.
The communication with the owner was easy and expedient. We will stay again.
