Great property, Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we walked in it felt like a home away from home. All the amenities we could think of are available, from cooking utensils in the kitchen to extra bedding/blankets for the living areas. The various windows allow for a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery. We really felt like we were far off in a forest of our own. The drive from the exit to the actual home looks a little scary/secluded at first, but once you find the actual house its a beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

Nice stay in woods

  • 5 of 5

The Redwood Chalet was a great place for our family to stay over Labor Day weekend. This was our first time staying overnight in Arcata area. We were very pleased with our selection. Perhaps the best part was how accommodating Krista was. We arrived well before our check-in time after driving all through the night and really needed a chance to get cleaned up and rested before starting our day in Arcata. She allowed us to do so without hesitation, which was a big deal for us. The house was everything I'd hoped it would be. We always like staying in B&Bs or rental homes when we travel. I would definitely stay here again. It's a little difficult to find because it's off the beaten path, but not far off 299. Price was very competitive compared to other homes in the area. A great value.

The Whole Package

  • 5 of 5

The Redwood Chalet is everything you could ask for and more in a vacation rental. My family stayed in the lower unit, and it was so hard to leave the tranquility, that we decided to stay for another night! You truly feel like you are part of the forest. The chalet is nestled in the heart of the redwoods, but we never had to drive more than an hour to see breathtaking sites along the north coast. Fern Canyon; Golds Bluff, Moonstone, Trinidad, Agate and Luffenholz beaches, and of course, Arcata's Farmers Market were just a few of the fun day trips we were able to experience during our stay.

The home's interior decorating is beautiful, and it is fully equipped to meet all of your needs. It is apparent that the chalet is very well cared for. My daughter was ready to move in permanently.

The home owner, Krista, is easy to communicate with. She was always there with a timely answer to my e-mails, and we were able to call and get a quick response when we wanted to stay an extra night. Thanks to Krista, we are still smiling and looking forward to our next vacation at the Redwood Chalet!

Great house, room for improvement on communication

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful, accommodating and fully equipped to handle our vacationing family. We rented both the upper and lower units. The area was peaceful and quiet, and we had felt at one with nature while staying. There was a bit of an ant problem while we were there, although it was a small price to pay for the serenity of our stay. Communicating with the owner could definitely improve, as all communications took longer than expected and were not clear; so be patient if you're trying to book here.

Amazing vacation home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stated her memorial day weekend. The place is absolutely beautiful. Very peaceful and helps you feel one with nature. We had a large party of 8 and we all had comfortable sleeping arrangements. I loved how spacious the property was and you can tell the owners really take care of the place by how clean it is. If I ever come back out to Arcata/Eureka area, I am definitely staying here again. It was a delight and a breath of fresh air. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with my family.
