Wonderful for families

We loved staying here. Right on the beach, and steps to the pool. Pool was shallow enough that our 3-year old could walk around most of it with no problem. And the outdoor shower was a great (and necessary!) feature after a trip to the beach. The management was great, and the condo management even came in fixed the patio gate so that we could walk right off the porch to the pool. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed (right down to sponges and dish soap). I would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful Spot on the Beach

We stayed in this condo for 4 nights in November. We loved many things. First, it was very spacious and filled with sunlight. The master bedroom has both a pool and beach view. The patio was great for sitting and watching the beach, although you couldn't see a lot of water and waves. The area of beach that this condo is on is simply stunning. I thought it was the prettiest part of Jaco Beach. If you walk out and go to the right, there is a stream to cross and some rocks and and a hill with palm trees. At night the sunset can be all colors of red, orange, yellow, and purple. There were plenty of towels and blankets. Bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen had conveniences such as a crock pot, toaster oven, and blender. Wifi worked great. We walked to town several times for meals and cooked breakfast in the condo. The supermarket we found was maybe a 10 minute walk away. We had coffee at the casino next door a couple times and ate there once when we didn't want to walk into town. There were only a couple small improvements we would make. There was a bit of a damp smell when we walked in. The walls could have used a fresh coat of paint. Also the hot tub wasn't hot and no one seemed to be able to tell us if it ever got hot. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. We booked transportation and tours with this company as well and they were great to work with.

Great value

Pros:

The condo was very nice and spacious for our group of six. Was truly beachfront, but you can't really see the water due to the mounds of sand between the water and the condo patio. The swimming pool was very nice and conveniently located just around the corner from the patio a mere 20 second walk. Complex was very clean and security guards at gates were always very pleasant. Location was great, far enough from action of downtown Jaco, yet just a 2 minute drive to the restaurants, bars and various stores. The property managers were extremely friendly, accommodating and always willing to help out in any way possible. In fact, our baby got sick while we were there and they recommended a doctor to see and we were able to walk in, have exam and prescription filled all within an hour. Baby was great within 48 hours.

Cons:

We arrived at 1:00 in the afternoon, and maybe it was in the agreement and I didn't see, but we were not allowed to check in to condo until 3:00 even though no one was occupying condo. Additionally, it would have been nice after we stopped by management office at 1:00 if they could have sent someone the one mile to the condo to turn on the air conditioning so it wouldn't be sweltering hot inside upon our arrival. We also encountered numerous missing light bulbs, ceiling fans not working, dishwasher flooded the kitchen and the washer/dryer was the worst ever. Nice to have washer/dryer in condo, but it took nearly 5-6 hours to dry just 4 towels! However, outside of the dryer, management had the maintenance man at the property the day after arrival and he fixed every single item that day which was great. All issues resolved, but seems like management company should have all these items checked out before our arrival to ensure that the condo is ready for occupancy and that we don't have to spend part of our vacation trying to get condo move-in ready. Be aware if necessary for your use, the pictures online reflect a bathroom that is not the one at the condo. There is a picture of a bathroom with a bath tub, but no tub exists at this unit.

Overall, once maintenance attended to property, the condo was an excellent place to spend our week vacation. Would definitely recommend to family and friends, and will likely use again myself.

On a side note, Adventure Costa Rica (managers of property) offer a lot of great tours and have by far the nicest, most knowledgeable tour guides you could ask for.

Owner's Response: Dear Sir or Madam: Glad to hear you enjoyed our condo and the great staff we have on site. Also, thank you for confirming our property description about being as beachfront as you can get. We just wanted to address the items you have listed as cons as we feel some clarification would benefit prospective renters. - Check in time is indeed 3pm as noted on your paperwork. No one was occupying the condo, that is correct. However, the cleaning staff was there getting the unit ready for you as the previous guests checked out at 11am the same morning. - In regards to the A/C, we request that all of our guests keep the A/C turned off when they are not occupying the condo. There is a message next to the thermostat regarding the environmental impact of the unnecessary use of energy. Costa Rica was nearly 100% fueled on renewable energy last year, and we would like to help in that cause. Otherwise, the unit takes less than 5 minutes to cool the condo. - Sorry to hear about the light bulbs that were burned out, that indeed should have been addressed in the pre check in inspection. - We are not sure about the ceiling fans; they are all functioning properly. We have not replaced them, and it seems you were able to get them to work with some instruction from our property manager. We are glad that was resolved. - Sorry you were not pleased with the washer/dryer. It is high efficiency (in terms of water – very truly not in terms of time). In the case that guests have large amounts of laundry, we recommend that they give it to the cleaning staff who charges a small fee. - It sounds like the dishwasher was a bit of a fiasco. We are sorry about that, but not really any way for us to forecast that. Again, very happy to hear it was resolved so efficiently. - You are absolutely right on the bathroom. We take care of a few different condos at Tres Regalos, and that was indeed used erroneously. It has since been taken down. - Lastly, we are very glad to hear that you enjoyed your tour experience with us and hope you do make it down to see us again. Thank you for your input. Beachfront is not an exaggeration! We LOVED it!!!

My family does a lot of vacationing, and I've heard "beachfront" more times than I can count, only to find the community is beach front but our actual rental faces a wall. We opened the patio doors of this condo and the beach was right in front of us. It was magnificent! Thank you so much for the relaxing stay. We will be back!

Really gorgeous condo - directly on the beach!

Very large, luxurious and comfortable - all the amenities, and better yet the Owner owns the company Adventure Tours Costa Rica and is happy to arrange tours and help in any way to make our stay comfortable, easy and fun. Very convenient location for walking into town. I highly recommend it!
