About the mews house:

This exclusive South Kensington mews house is the perfect vacation rental in central London. With its contemporary design and spacious layout, you can live like a Londoner in comfort and style. The home features hardwood flooring throughout, skylights, stylish recessed lighting and more. It is located on the lower level of a private mews building with a secure entrance.

Upon entering, you are greeted by the luminous open-plan reception room. With a large L-shaped sofa, coffee table and flat screen television with cable channels, you will easily be able to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing in London. There is a dining area with a table and chairs for four where you can sit down and enjoy a meal at home should you not feel like dining out in one of the best restaurants in South Kensington.

Off of the reception room you will find the modern, hi-tech kitchen. This kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, teakettle and more. All pots, pans, crockery and utensils are provided so that you can benefit from the luxury of being able to prepare meals at home. There is also a clothes washing and drying machine for your convenience, which will allow you to pack light and save room for all of your British souvenirs. An iron and board are also available for your use.

The superb Master bedroom is light and spacious with contemporary furnishings. It is comprised of a large double bed, night tables and laps, a dresser and a large fitted wardrobe with mirrors. All bedding, linens and pillows are provided and you will find the bed neatly made upon arrival. This room has its own private en-suite bathroom with a shower, hand washbasin and toilet. Luxurious bath towels for 4 people are provided for your stay. You will also be provided with complementary travel-size shampoos, soaps and shower gels, toilet paper rolls and a hair dryer.

In between the two bedrooms lies a small private courtyard that can be accessed through either bedroom. The second bedroom is equally charming with a large double bed, a skylight, a dresser and wardrobe for your belongings and more. The second bathroom is accessible from the mail hallway and contains a second stand up shower, toilet and hand sink.

The mews features under-the-floor heating and is heated during the colder months of the year. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning as the London weather forecast rarely proves to be warm enough to justify it, but we will be happy to provide you with fans to keep you cool during your stay.

Our Welcoming Team will come and meet you upon arrival, give you a tour of the mews house and the kitchen appliances, get you connected to the Wi-Fi and give you the keys to the flat. Inside the house you’ll also find a personal guidebook with ideas on where to eat in South Kensington and what to do in London.

About London’s South Kensington Neighbourhood:

The South Kensington area is one of the most central, safe and family-friendly neighbourhoods in London. Its residential streets are lined with beautiful architecture and typical mews houses. Some of London’s best museums call this neighbourhood “home”, including the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum. The Imperial College of Science and Technology, The Royal College of Music and the Royal Albert Hall can also be found in this area. There are endless shopping opportunities at High Street Kensington. There are plenty of good restaurants in the South Kensington area and you are sure to find something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

Hyde Park borders this neighbourhood to the north. It is easily accessible by foot and provides endless opportunities for walking, jogging or running in London. You can rent a canoe to explore the Serpentine River and experience London like a local. A picnic in Hyde Park is an ideal way to spend a sunny afternoon in the city. No visit to London would be complete without passing by Kensington Palace and Gardens, home to Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton.

The nearest Tube Station, South Kensington Underground Station (Piccadilly, Circle and District lines), provides an easy way to navigate around the rest of the city. From here you can easily reach some of the other major tourist sights in London including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus and the West End and more. The London Underground also provides and easy link to Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports.

Great location, nice apartment

This is in a great location in South Kensington, 5 minutes walk to the Gloucester Road Tube and about 15 minutes to the South Kensington Tube. The apartment is a Basement Mews house that has been remodeled to let in tons of light. The kitchen is well appointed with new appliances. The beds are comfortable and the showers have good water pressure, although water does tend to leak quite a bit.The flat just above can be heard quite well by you from this flat, and I assume they can hear you as wel. After many stays in London flats we have found a lot of the quality of your experience comes down to the rental company servicing it. We have used 3 so far, one is excellent, one was terrible, and this one (london Central Reservations) was just OK. Their agent was responsive about questions and getting a cleaning mid-week, but there seemed to be quite a bit of confusion about our arrival and departure dates.

Good location--not especially clean

Location is nice--good neighborhood close to metro, grocery, and restaraunts. However, it is not particularly clean. Carpets were not very well vacuumed, found dirty dishes in cupboards, etc. Nothing a new housekeeper could not solve.

Also, because this is a basement apartment, expect lots of cracks in the drywall, and doors that do not fully open or close.

We are also working to address the maintenance issues associated with having a flat partially below ground level, like the cracking drywall and doors which shift with the seasons and temperatures. Perfect Location with easy access to the Tube!

Our family had a great time in this London home. The location is perfect - easy walk to 2 different London Underground stations. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The apartment was very clean and warm and cosy. It is also very spacious - the pictures don't quite to it justice. Comfortable beds in both bedrooms. The wifi is great, the kitchen appliances all very modern. Paul's assistant was there on time to welcome us when we arrived and was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Five Stars All Around

We had an amazing stay in London and this townhouse definitely played a big part of that. Great location, well appointed, and extremely comfortable for 4. It was so nice to be able to come home at the end of the day and just relax and cook some dinner before heading out to a local pub to enjoy a pint. The manager was very responsive to questions and requests and we would definitely stay there again without hesitation. Five stars all around!

Bright and Quiet Flat in Great Neighbourhood

This is a bright and quiet flat in a lovely neighborhood that is very convenient (5 min walk) to the Gloucester tube station. The kitchen is well equipped and there are a number of good restaurants nearby (Da Marios was great!) as well as multiple shops for groceries or coffee.

The master bedroom, bed and bathroom have ample size and were very comfortable. The second bedroom, bed and bathroom are not quite as roomy but they were more than adequate for the time spent there. Even though this is a basement flat the skylights and courtyard really brighten the space and allow for ample fresh air - we did not hear much of anything above us. The water pressure was good and the hot water easily handled four daily showers. Would stay again without hesitation.
