Historic Hawthorne in the Heart of Portland!

Bedrooms 2
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Only available for stays 30 days or more

This is a great condo in the heart of Southeast Portland and just blocks from the trendy Hawthorne Neighborhood featuring many great restaurants, shops, pubs, and activities. All furnishings and linens new in November 2011! There is a deck with bbq, and plenty of space to hang out when weather permits. In the family room is a 40’’ flat screen TV and Blu-Ray DVD Player. Also included is free Wifi! Just blocks to downtown, right near the bus line, and a great overall walking score of 86! The Hawthorne area is a great neighborhood to have as “home base” while in Portland because it has all the food, shops, and excitement necessary but is in close proximity to all of the other neat areas in town. As the owner I take great pride in having happy guests and am glad to do anything I can to make your stay more enjoyable. Please do not hesitate to ask.

Convenient neighborhood. Solid rental option

  • 4 of 5

Owner was responsive and helpful. Great location. Convenient to lots of Hawthorne area eateries, bike rental and downtown. Restored historic unit that is decently, but sparsely decorated. The property is clean. Small kitchen is quite functional. Two queen beds in the unit. Linens are nice but mattresses are of poor quality (this is why I deducted a star). Be aware that "sleeps 6" assumes two people sleeping on an air mattress provided. Access to the unit requires walking up a steep flight of steps but this wasn't a problem for our family.

Just what we expected.

  • 4 of 5

Reading the previous reviews we chose this rental and were not disappointed. It was close to anything we wanted to do and Portland's transportation system is the best. My only complaints are the outside of the building and stairway could use some attention and there was no yard area to relax in.

Clean, good location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property for a week while attending a course at OHSU. The place was clean, easy to access and in a good location close to the streetcar and other transit, as well as plenty of great places to eat. Would recommend.

Awesome rental and top notch owner!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first VRBO and I know I had to have made things difficult for the owner (I asked a lot of questions). He was relatively quick to respond and made things easy.

This was for a reunion among friends and unfortunately, I wasn't able to go due to a work conflict (even though I'm the one he had been talking to/booked the property).

My friends, however, absolutely loved it. It was walking distance to many of the bars/pubs and ubers/lyfts were very easy to get a hold of. We are all from the the Portland area so it wasn't too hard to find.

I would definitely recommend this property (or any by the owners).

Great apartment in a quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This was my first trip into the VRBO realm. As the apartment we had originally inquired about was booked, Thomas suggested that we would might be interested in this one. I'm so glad we were able to get this one. We arrived earlier than expected and Thomas was very accommodating in letting us get into the apartment early. The entry code we were given was incorrect, but Thomas got everything figured out very quickly. Once inside, we were very pleasantly surprised to find it nicer than expected. It was very clean, tastefully appointed and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything but the food. There was also a washer and dryer, which was very nice to have on hand. We did not rent a car and relied on mostly walking and a little bit of public transportation which turned out to be just fine. The apartment is located in the Hawthorne area on a quiet street close to food trucks which our teens and twenty-somethings took advantage of late at night. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone going to Portland. Thank you, Thomas!

comfortable apartment and fun location

  • 5 of 5

I'm so glad I booked Thomas's place for my group of friends! The Hawthorne area was very nice with quirky shops to explore and a permanent food truck area a couple minutes walk from the apartment. The two beds slept 4, and the air mattress fit the additional two comfortably. Thomas was a great host with providing all the details needed for our stay and let us know well in advance that a handyman was to drop by to fix the washing machine during our stay. I was initially a little hesitant that Thomas does not do his booking through VRBO, but it ended up saving us money on fees, and everything was legitimate and professional. Would definitely recommend!
