A wonderful stay, handsome decor, and great location!
We stayed in early October for a week, and had a perfect stay! From the beautiful décor, and comfortable bed, to the great concierge, Rik, we had a very relaxing, very happy stay. Walk out the front door of the building, and you are in the perfect location for your adventure. A few minutes walk to the 6th, and all the wonderful food exploration you will need, or another few minutes to the Louvre. The marble bathrooms were tough to leave behind. Even the kitchen was perfectly appointed, and well thought out. Troy the housekeeper was there 5 days a week, and provided fresh towels, and even did my laundry! We will definitely refer friends to stay there, as well as returning ourselves.
Thank you for your detailed and glowing review! It was such a pleasure working with you and my sentiments are shared by Rik and Troy. We do hope you stay with us again, soon!
Great apartment, great location
We loved the street, apartment, location. Lack of AC everywhere was challenging because it was usually hot. Portable unit in bedroom made sleeping Ok but rest of apartment was unbearable during the heat. Clean up crew was great.
The clothes dryer was annoying, took 5 hours to dry towels, longer for sheets. Seemed like it was always running. I guess it is an environmental issue in Paris that keeps folks from venting dryers. You may want to do the towels, sheets someplace else so not to annoy guests.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the apartment and location. We will consider purchasing an additional portable air con unit for the apartment. It was unseasonably hot this summer so it was warmer than usual and had never been an issue in the past. But good recommendation for the future. Regarding the dryer, a little explanation: This is not unique to this apartment, but in fact most residential buildings in Paris are like this because they are constructed with stone, there are not the usual venting possibilities that exist elsewhere. Rather than vent the air and being able to get really hot and dry quickly, the units collect the water in the dryer itself, meaning that they are really just heating up the clothes and letting the condensation that comes off them be collected. This is why there is a reservoir that gathers the water and needs to be emptied after each cycle. It's not exactly efficient and we are aware. It's one of the quirks of Paris life but we will keep this mind to consider alternatives.
Beautifully decorated and appointed with everything needed to enjoy Paris at your own leisure!
Last week was unusually hot for Paris and the A/C provided in this very chic apartment was a lifesaver! We enjoyed the beautifully decorated walk-up which reflected the surrounding beauty of the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay. This was a perfect location to walk to all major attractions! We only had to hire a car for a day trip to Versailles - totally worth the visit and definitely should be seen after an exploration of the Louvre.
We would highly recommend this rental to those who appreciate the romance of Paris combined with location. Excellent restaurants within a short distance including the original Laduree (a definite “must” for brunch) and Coccorico for casual, delicious food any time of day!
Merci ParisCopia for helping us get settled in and for arranging transit from the CDG and to Gare du Nord!!
It was my pleasure having you as our guest at our Celia Residence. I am so glad the Air Con unit gave you some respite from the heat! It was a scorcher of a week! I see you mentioned "walk up" but I want to clarify there is an elevator in the building that goes to the apartment. Just to clarify for our future guests :-)
We sincerely hope you stay with us again!
A wonderful location and a terrific apartment!
Perfect Apartment, Perfect Location!
Our family of four spent a week at this exquisite apartment and loved everything about it. We will come back for a longer stay next year. The apartment was not only beautifully furnished but had highest quality mattresses and excellent water pressure in the showers which are qualities we have found lacking in other grand buildings of similar vintage. Also, both bedrooms faced an inner courtyard so were very quiet for sound sleeping. The apartment is so well laid out that we felt we were staying in a home, not an apartment. It was like we were staying at a 5 star hotel with everything at our fingertips but we always had complete privacy. I loved having my morning coffee sitting on the sun filled terrace watching Paris wake up. The kitchen was so well equipped we even entertained 8 one night for dinner. The location could not have been more perfect. We walked to all the major museums and landmarks we wanted to visit. All our favorite restaurants and boulangeries were on the surrounding streets and what could be better than having the gourmet Monoprix a three minute walk away! The apartment was spotless and very well maintained. Can't wait to return!
Lovely, serene and glamorous home in San Germain
We recently spent a week at this wonderful apartment on Rue de l'Université on a family trip to Paris, and absolutely loved it.
The location is perfect, in the heart of San Germain with all its lovely shops and cafes, and a short walk across the river to the Louvre, the shops of rue Saint-Honoré, and great Parisian neighbourhoods like the Marais.
The apartment itself is beautiful, decorated with a superb mix of antiques, furniture and art. It manages to blend style and glamour with comfort and warmth - not something one finds easily.
We found it spacious, serene, and every detail - be it aesthetic or functional - seemed to have been carefully thought through. From the moment we walked in, we felt happy, relaxed and at home.
I can't recommend this special apartment highly enough. It was a true pleasure to have it as our home for an unforgettable week in Paris.
The epitome of Paris at your fingertips. Close to the Seine, this is as central as it gets! Here you will find a hoard of interests and activities from the Musée d'Orsay, antique shops and famous taxidermist, award-winning gastronomic cuisine, casual cafes, and beautiful vistas along the Seine. Meander along Rue de l’Universite towards the heart of Saint Germain des Pres in the 6th or cross the Le Pont Royal footbridge into the right bank with the Louvre and Tuileries gardens awaiting your eager exploration.
