Aardvark just keeps putting you off until you leave. No upstairs air the first couple of nights ( I shut it down and it started working a couple of days later) took the fridge 2 days to cool and I lost a lot of food. We just went and got ice and used the ice chest. The hot tub turd green after 3 days. The waterfall does not exist and the security system that doesn't work goes off all night. 1 garbage bag for 6 night and they never brought any even when I asked so I took some and recycled them from the cans outside. We got ate up by bugs inside the cabin and are praying they were not bed bugs.
For the amount of money I spent on this cabin, it was a big disappointment as we spent our 30 wedding anniversary there. The cabin and the roads to it need a lot of work.
•Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? NO, several items didn't work
•Was the property clean and well-maintained? It was not cleaned very well as a matter of fact there was still food under the table from someone else and hairs in the tub.
•Did the owner or manager provide good customer service? Not even close on this one
•Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? Not even someone I disliked
We rented this cabin over the labor day weekend. We were 10 adults, with an infant. There were a couple of significant issues.
The sofa bed (that is supposed to sleep the 9th and 10th person), was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. It was just not possible for anyone to use it, even one night could cause a potential back injury, with some serious liability issues. With 3 nights planned, we struggled with the situation.
The Internet network could not be found, and we contacted the cabin rental immediately, who were unable to help. I later contacted them again, and it turns out the renters after us had the same problem, but eventually got on the network. The cabin rental company believes this was a provider problem.
On our last day, we lost water supply at 10am. Until we left at 4pm, there was no water. We left the faucet on, assuming it was temporary, and hoped the water would come back, but nothing happened. We repeatedly called the rental, who said there was nothing they could do as the manager was away. We must have called 5 times!
This was obviously very frustrating for everyone, especially because we had an infant. After returning, I contacted the rental again, hoping that they would understand the problem we had. The gentleman on the phone said that they did get a plumber to the cabin at some point, and by then the water supply was fine. I can ASSURE you this did not happen while we were there. He was adamant that we had signed a contract, paid in full, and that if there was an issue they would ‘try’ to resolve it ‘as soon as possible’, which they did several hours later. He insisted that those were the terms, and that if we were not comfortable then we should not have signed it. Not only did I feel they were unsympathetic, he suggested I stay at a motel, because in cabins ‘anything can happen’, which is simply unacceptable for an apology! He was also more frustrated that the plumber found nothing to fix. He said he would provide a good deal if we were to come back!
No refund and no concern. We were very disappointed.
We stayed at Mountain Bliss over my kids' Spring Break this year. The drive up to the cabin was one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. I don't understand WHY the cabin company sent us up Camp Hollow Road in the first place, because it is a one-lane very narrow mountain road with dropoffs. (If you rent the cabin, instead take WILHITE road between the 7-8 mile marker, follow it a few miles, turn right on Camp Hollow and go about a quarter of a mile, and the drive is on your left) The driveway is very long with gray rock gravel, and it terrified me the first time we went up. I had to put the car into sport mode (low gear) to get up a coupe of the "hills". However, once you've done it once, you will get the hang of it very quickly. I had no other trouble. BUT this place is amazing. It's actually as nice as the pictures make it look. The view is 10 times better than the picture, but after taking pictures myself, I see that it's not possible to capture it in a picture - you are completely surrounded by mountains. It has everything you can imagine you would need. TONS of space, TV access for everyone, two jacuzzis, hot tub, etc. Every light switch is labeled so you don't have to go searching for the right one. We had to call maintenance twice for minor issues, and they were fixed by the time we got back in the evening. We had an awesome time there, and would definitely stay again. The only real down side to this cabin is its distance from town. It takes about 30-35 minutes to get back to Sevierville, so we felt like once we left, we had to be out for the day. It's too far out to come and go easily. But if you're looking for a peaceful beautiful place to be, you have found it.
