About Scandage Lake:

The Great Sacandaga Lake is nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack Preserve and boasts a unique and distinguished history. Originally the Sacandaga Valley was home to the Mohawk Indians and was settled by Sir William Johnson in the 1700s. In the 1920’s the Valley was a booming resort town with luxurious and beautifully landscaped inns with golf courses, a sports complex, off Broadway Theater and amusement park with a roller coaster!

However, The waters of the Sacandaga River and the Hudson flooded with run-off every spring causing great damage to homes and businesses. Work to flood the valley began in the 1920’s and the great Conklingville Dam was put to use in the Spring of 1930 filling the great valley with 283 billion gallons of water!

Today the Great Sacandaga Reservoir is an undiscovered Mecca for boating, water sports, snowmobiling, skiing, fishing and all kinds of recreation. Historical markers and museums mark the great events of the area. Antiques and crafts are found little shops everywhere. And we boast some of the best lake front dining around! Unlike other lakes the Great Sacandaga Lake is still quaint and pristine! And Last Year we were voted the 2nd best place in the country to be for our nightlife by Snogoer Magazine! We invite you to join us in an unforgettable Adirondack experience.

Why Rocco Lamanna chose Broadalbin

I have lived in New York most of my life and there is nothing like the Adirondacks in the summer. When this property came up for sale we leapt with both feet forward. Stay one night and you will know why.

What makes this house unique

I have seached years for a property with what I call the Top 4 'Must Haves' for a Lake home. Adirondack themed home, unobstructed sunset views, flat front yard to water (no cliff or 3 flights of stairs to get from home to lake) and Sandy Beach. This property has it all plus a guest cottage, Court and Billards room. I can guarantee you will not find all four 'Must Haves 'with another property at our rental rates.

Beautiful place for a family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at your lovely home. As stated, everything was provided! We are outdoor people and were looking for a place on the lake with a gradual sandy incline into the water for both young and old, and a dock for a pontoon boat and were not disappointed. Although cool weather kept us out of the water for swimming, it did not stop us from enjoying the beach and the lawn, playing basketball, kayaking, playing with all the toys and games provided. The inside of the main house was very roomy and very clean. The overflow of family members stayed in the property's gray cottage and were pleased with their accomodations. We would definitely recommend your home for a family vacation.

Lovely property

  • 5 of 5

We rented the main house and grey cabin for a week for our two adult children, grandchildren and ourselves. We stayed in the cabin mostly just for sleeping and a quiet cup of coffee in the morning. The cabin is rustic but clean. Kids and grandkids were in the main house which is very nice, clean and well stocked. Kitchen is open to the dining room, living room and screened porch which was great for conversation and to keep an eye on the kids. House has nice deck with stairs to grassy lawn and sandy beach. A dock and mooring space is also provided and there are several boat launches nearby. If you bring a boat, be very careful on the water. This lake has more unmarked hazards than I have ever seen. The neighborhood is quiet. Owner is very nice and responsive to all questions. All in all, we would recommend this property.

Exactly as described!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at the house for a week. My parents and my 2 siblings with families stayed and had a great time. We fully took advantage of the beautiful lake. Lots of swimming, tubing, sunbathing, snorkeling etc. the house provided all the gear/toys for kids and adults alike. The main house was very comfortable and had all that was needed. The large open concept kitchen living room was a great place to gather. The back house was smaller and was basically just used for sleeping. We sat by the campfire and played corn hole every night. Great relaxing vacation.

Rocco was very responsive with all our needs - Great host!

The only thing I missed was close access to Adirondack hiking trails. The house is on the southern area of the Adirondacks and is a bit of a drive to that type of activity.
