And the backyard... that's a National Forest. At 5340 square feet, Del Norte Manor has a enough room for your entire family, friends, and maybe even some Facebook friends too! Remember that house you dreamed of when you were a kid? You know, the one with the pool table, foosball table, hot tub, and 7 flat screen TVs? That was Del Norte Manor. And it's perfect for entertaining, with dining room seating for up to 14 people and a big deck. But be careful...this house is so impressive you'll need to fight the urge to refer to the rest of your group as "my entourage" when skiing the nearby slopes at Heavenly or gambling the night away at casinos.
Though there is parking for 4 cars, the driveway requires a well-maintained SUV or truck with all season tires and at least 10" of clearance to safely park. Because street parking is not allowed, we're happy to suggest alternative parking or provide rental car discounts.

Thanks for opening your property to us for our vacation. The home is beautiful and we shared our stay with family and friends. We had great use of the kitchen, hot tub, pool table, foosball and all of the other luxuries. It was a great location for a morning walk and reading on the porch. We also had very short drives to all of the other sites. We plan to come back!
The house was amazing for our 3 families, all with 2 kids! Plenty of space for the adults to veg and kids to play in the second playroom/living room. The bedrooms were big enough to accommodate blow up beds, but there were also roll aways in the master closet. All the beds were comfortable. The Master could have had 2 more beds in it, as it was so huge, so if your looking for places for extra bodies it will work. The house also had sleds (though we didn't have much snow)!
The kitchen was nice and large, but it was not stocked with quality cookware. I always bring my own knives, but would recommend brining a cutting board as there was only one that was good enough to cut fruit for our cocktails on. We had a hard time turning the master shower on. We called for help and they sent someone right away. He was helpful, attentive, and provide excellent customer service. The drive way was an issue, but we were notified at the time of reserving that the driveway was difficult and cars needed to be at least 10" high to clear the bump.
I would definatly rent this home again!
Thank you for sharing this great home with us for our ski trip. We had 14 adults in our group and this house was the perfect size for a group of our size. The Master bedroom and bathroom are huge and we had a family of 5 comfortably share the space. The other bedrooms were perfect for the remaining guests. We used all the amenities including the hot tub, pool table and football table. We also made good use of the kitchen as we dined at the house for most meals when we weren't Skiing. The only minor complaints that we had which have been mentioned in previous reviews is that some of the kitchen utensils should be replaced. Especially frying pans and glassware and a shortage of coffee cups. No dish towels, oven mitts or pot holders were found. If it weren't for these few minor things that could easily be fixed. I would have given it 5 stars. Highly recommend this beautiful house. It was perfect for our trip. Thanks again!
We had a family reunion and rented three homes all close by. Must say ours was the best one, and this sentiment was echoed by the other two families. There were fourteen of us in Del Norte Manner, and room for many more. Master suite is beyond words, and a family of five slept without difficulty... with plenty of room left over. This home deserved five stars but the driveway eliminated that. Not one of our cars could drive over the "bump." I don't know how you could stay in the winter since you are not allowed to park in the street during the snow season. This really needs to be addressed by the owner. We brought extra towels, soap etc., but didn't think about kitchen towels...there were none. Frying pans really should be replaced as well. The property managers were terrific. We had been given the wrong code for front door lockbox. Within five minutes of my call they were there. They said to call for any problems or concerns. We booked through Invitedhome. Will never forget a lovely three night stay with our families, and a reunion with forty family members. A beautiful home... in beautiful Tahoe.
First of all, it's a beautiful home in a great location. We would have given five stars except for a few problems. The biggest disappointment was the "hot" tub. It didn't get very hot at all. Our entire family agreed that there was no way that the temp was 103 (which is what the hot tub said), it felt more like 85. The other big issue (like everyone else) was the driveway. We had 3 SUVs and 1 car. The car barely made it thru the hump, and all SUVs scraped. Hopefully they can fix that soon.
I think that the kitchenware (i.e.- pot holders/oven mitts, cooking utensils) should be replaced. Some of them had melted handles and others were broken. We also wished there were a few more dish towels. Really though these things are so minor. We had a fantastic time with our family there. The house was more than big enough for all 10 of us. It's very comfortable and great for a big family like ours. We had fun playing games around the ottoman in the family room. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone. It was a quick drive to the lake, restaurants, and grocery store.
The warning about the hump in the driveway is not strong enough. We had two SUVs. Both of them could not get into the driveway without scraping. The only way we could get them into the driveway was to bring them in at an angle, so there could be no vehicle in the driveway when the SUVs came in. We had two pickup trucks with raised beds. Those were the only vehicles that could clear the driveway straight in.
We found some problems when we arrived (not enough towels, handles on kitchen cabinets loose, loose window in master bedroom. We notified the agency on Saturday and they were IMMEDIATELY addressed. Kudos to the crew that maintains this property.
The pump on the hot tub, which is quite loud, would come on during the nights. This caused a problem for those sleeping in several of the bedrooms. In addition, the cover for the hot tube comes up opposite the house, obscuring the beautiful view of the forest behind the house.
We would not recommend this place for people with trouble going up and down stairs. All of the bedrooms are on the bottom floor, while the entry is on the floor above (which is split level, which includes more stairs).
Our family loves to play games, and there are quite a few games in the game room. However, for games where one sits around a table, we never found a location where the lighting for the games was sufficient. For example, there is no light directly above the dining room table, so we often had trouble reading game cards.
Having said all of that, we had a wonderful time at this property, and would certainly consider it the next time we have a family reunion.
